Since the 24 Hours of Le Mans was held virtually last weekend, we'll be trying a 24 Minutes of Le Mans race in Assetto Corsa tomorrow night. Qualifying will start around 8PM EDT, the race should start about 30 minutes later. Depending on how things go, we may end up running a second race afterwards or just mess around on some other tracks.
Make sure you've got the Sol mod installed so the night stuff works, I'm not sure you'll even be able to join without it. Sol and the track mod are both in the Mega link below, and I put a link to the official installation instructions too.
Server is running the new mods, so please make sure everything works before the race starts, let me know if you run into any issues or have any mod car requests.

My brother recently replaced his oled tv with a larger qled. The thing I noticed immediately was this awful glossiness smearing out of any bright spots onto the neighboring darks. For movies specifically, the OLED allows for deeper blacks and doesn't have distortion during scenes of high contrast. I've also seen posts of people mentioning they they still rather watch movies with their Rift S (also LCD) instead of their Index upgrade. Apparently the specific lens used by the Index contributes to god rays. In games, I'm sure the better FoV and refresh rate make the drawback neglible, but for a movie with the user sitting down, I wonder if the color fidelity might be preferable to the index's other clear advantages.

There is no all-in-one FBT package. The HTC trackers are compatible with Vive/VivePro/CosmosElite/Index/whatever that chink brand is, and can be ran in hybrid with Rift/S/Quest/WMR, but there's no cheap package for FBT. If you already have a Kinect you can mess with it, but it's absolutely not worth buying a Kinect just to learn how insufficient it is.

Blender's cloth simulation. It's been around for a while actually, even in 2.7.x, and has this neat sewing feature where any free edges without adjacent faces become stitches that pull the fabric together when you simulate. It's definitely poor man's marvelous designer in terms of features, but cool to mess around in for a while.

The newest blender 2.8.3 also adds a sculpt mode brush that also uses the cloth sim. It's kind of useful if you have a mostly finished clothing mesh that you want to add wrinkles too, but this way you don't even have to model the general form of the body. just subdivide some planes, sew em together with physics.
