I think it's pretty hard to build up resistance, honestly. Most VR games are shit, so there isn't much to play, which means the headset goes unused for months, and any tolerance you built up crumbles away. I'm better now than I once was, but it's a very slow process.

I dunno. Glasses moving around, even getting a new prescription adjusts your view and distortion. Pushing them up slightly to scratch or wipe something away from your eyes. Putting on on-top sunglasses or ballistic eye protection.

My theory was always that constant exposure to 3D games with their wild cameras, along with glasses causing everything you see to be optically jostle-able, trains people to not get woozy when VR does weird things.

I've got friends who can't play even normal 3D games because the camera moving made them nauseous eventually. And that's on a screen far from their faces. None of my "gamer" friends have had problems.

Backing this up, there's articles and forum posts from when HL2 came out complaining that the fast vehicle sequences gave them nausea.

I guess that's not the right line of reasoning, though.

As far as I gather it's Ninjaripper, which does it very loosely, or decompiling the files and slapping shit together yourself. Thing is doing it that way gets you none of the real shape data so you still need to build a lot of it yourself. Not much from a consumer standpoint. It's one of the 2 consistent quality headsets on the market right now. Index being the other. The price is right, it's showing it's age but honestly still is fine as long as games aren't rapidly getting better or anything. The Rift S is one of 2 headsets most everything is built to work with.

Now from a market standpoint, I think it's really bad for business to be fighting for exclusivity and dividing markets especially for multiplayer games while VR is in its infancy. People still need to prove this is something worth getting and half of the market hasn't even heard of the good stuff that comes out on Oculus store while a lot of it's bigger experiences are lost in a large chunk of the quest market that is only in this for say beat saber. I wouldn't mind buying it from their store, but hardware locking it is like telling me I need a certain brand of monitor to play a game.

What determines where your feet are attached to the floor in VRchat?

I have a model that is using stilts and in fixing an unrelated bone issue I notice now my avatars stilts sink to the floor up until my the beginning of the actual foot causing the view port to be out of position.

The bar is low if they're calling it 'AAA'. VRC does use the neck bone, it's just so bad that effectively removing it works better. I'd also advise shrinking the shoulders to 1/4 of their length towards the arm. It's the only thing I've found that stops them collapsing when idle and caving in around the neck when moving.
