the rowing is pretty comfy too. http://www.vivecraft.org/how-to-play/ lists all the small VR things they added. Being able to reach over your shoulder to swap to the first item in the hotbar feels pretty satisfying with a sword. Combat is still waggle to play unfortunately, but such is minecraft.

I never got great framerates with it, but it was playable at 48fps (1/3 frames on the index) for me, on a 1070ti. Don't go higher than the lite/medium settings, and turning down the shadowmap size https://sildurs-shaders.github.io/

Even the base game looks fine in VR fwiw. You can also change the world scale to 1/100th in the VR settings, so it's like looking at little lego house. Uploaded a genji and placed shuriken particles and animations where you pull it out of your hands first and throw it to release.

An AI is on the loose and will require the combined wit, imagination and exploratory powers of those that are in the frontier of technological metaverse.

The adventure will be held in a custom map built to allow a DM to have a set of tools to improve immersion for the players and bystanders

What is AI dungeon? AI Dungeon is a single/multiplayer text adventure game which uses artificial intelligence to generate unlimited content. It also allows players to create and share their own custom adventure settings.

To those that will want to host we will hold another test session to give you a run down on how it all works and the general tips on how to use the AI to your advantage.
From the tests we have already done it has been a pleasure and a hoot to everyone involved. A bleeding edge tech assisted DnD campaign in VR.

As for the adventurers, for this event please prepare your DnD avatars. We'll be highly pressuring the hosts to only allow skills and actions that are logical to the avatar you have prepared.
So the avatar and equipment you have will most likely be the job class you will be in the world, so be prepared. Of course this does not stop you from picking up other ancient artifacts on your play through that might augment/improve/expand your abilities.

I'm going to offer a dissenting opition here. I did this with a few friends last night and the water portions of the map are annoying and go on and on and on and we eventually just quit after the 14th room of the same tedious mechanic.
They should also have the patrolling ghosts despawn in areas you've already cleared, they tend to spawn camp.

The first 1-2 hours were great, but hours 3-4 kind of sucked.

I'm guessing why that is that hard and tedious. As it requires multiple of those big horse gems to open fully till the end.

The monsters have a patrol pattern until it sees a player. Got to learn their movements. The cabinets are safe spots if you are inside them with doors closed. Is what we gathered from testing and the hint of the cabinet at the very first room.

Thankfully though the map has a lot of shortcuts you can unlock as you slowly finish it. Quite tight in it's game design.

Unfortunately the sync code is abusing the isKinematic switch on the rigidbodies to indicate ownership, so I can't turn off the physics simply. But they should be a lot more stable now that multiple clients don't think they own the same sticks. I'll fix it more holistically eventually. I'm waiting warmly for the vaguely promised udon sync updates like array syncing, which may obviate a lot of the complexity in the code currently. Not holding my breath because it is still the same vrchat devs, but maybe it'll be better.

Having a model with just the one outfit it's wearing means you can delete everything under it and have everything on one mesh and limited materials. Having a tonne of toggle outfit on one model means it'll always have two meshes (except nude). If you just make it go transparent then it's extra mats. Think in what is being displayed at any one time for optimisation. 100% transparent is still rendered. Everything else is just adding to file size.

Have 1 texture for all your clothes to get file size down. That should leave you with plenty of outfits on one avatar, while still being decently small file size wise.
You can make blendshapes to hide your body mesh like in pic related. But that might come back and bite you hard since blendshapes are the number one thing that seems to fuck up when it comes to Avatar creation.

That's quite a bad use of blendshapes. All of those faces will still be rendered, even if they're all compressed into a single point, and blendshapes can increase the file size of the mesh considerably; they account for 40% of the file size of my FBX and almost all of them only affect the face.

I'd honestly recommend a CV1 but you know cuckulus decided to discontinue it, so the best things to recommend are Samsung Odyssey+ or a Rift S, preferably Rift S it has better tracking and controllers.
