I remember the VR mode working fine, except for a weird issue where it if your controller was some set distance away from your hand, it took it to mean you were constantly interacting/whacking things. So if you got close to somebody else you'd smack them over and over unless you pull your hand back.

The core gameplay loop is really grindy and I got bored before I got any of the cool vehicles and stuff. If you play next week I may just edit my save file to get all the basic resources unlocked.

My only gripe with it is it's waves battle room only and has no traps, puzzles, or exploration. Combat is surprisingly okay for wagglan. Nice fast paced. Begin with importing a MMD model into vrchat. That teaches you the basics - where to find a 3d model, how it get it into blender, what requirements a vrchat avatar has (visemes, eyes etc) , how to get that out of blender and into unity, how to prepare a model in unity with the vrchat SDK so you can upload it to your account.

You can figure all that out in an afternoon even if you've never touched unity or any 3d modeling software before in your life. There's plenty of video tutorials on youtube for importing MMDs.

Once you've done that, set small modeling goals - edit the model in blender to add a new part, like a hat. Use the regular seasonal events here as motivation if you don't have any ideas. Upcoming event at the end of the month is D&D themed (add a sword!), after that I think the next big one is halloween.

Met the dude that made the full body heaven club map. He's making a system for full body car driving with manual shifting that's going to be showcased in VKet 5 and give away the system for free. Really fucking rad. Had a couple of maps with driveable cars and trucks with properly simulated weights and torque with the gears. Grip and turn the steering wheel, push your feet in for the pedals, and grab the shifter and push or pull it into the six slots to change gears. Even have to ease off the clutch and on the accelerator at the same time like a real manual. Fucking stalled the truck and trailer going up a slight incline which was pretty embarrassing but fuck it my irl region has no hills, I drive an automatic honda civic on the other side of the road and have never even driven a van before let alone a semi. Apparently he's got a closed beta for world creators eventually so if you're a world creator and want to get in on it, go find him and ask. Didn't catch the name. Started with V or something.
