It's early access so there's jank and bugs but the dev seems to be frequently updating it. Gameplay loop is pretty enjoyable already with some tension due to loss of items you bring in if you die.

No idea what the roadmap is like but the guy has a Trello so it seems fairly transparent from that aspect; I think a lot of stuff could be polished up to make it more user-friendly but I can see more mechanics getting added on to make it even better later.

Elevator pitch is you and three other schmucks go into a building to identify a ghost using tools that you bring in. AI and randomness means that its relatively unpredictable and the ghosts can be pretty docile or frequent hunters. Uses Windows speech recognition so best enjoyed in a team of non-mutes in VR.

It's better to play with other VR users but yes you can have fun with some desktoppers too. I would recommend playing solo first since it's more scary that way and jumping into multiplayer takes most of the unknown and spooky aspect away from the game since most people already know what to do etc.

Ignore the prompt to update the track if you're running Content Manager, the new version has some issues for people who aren't running custom shaders or don't have them configured correctly for it.
Server should be running the new config now, let me know if you run into any issues or have any car requests.

B&S has had shit performance since the release of U8. Basically anything other than the small arena with a few NPCs will cause massive stutters as more NPCs appear and lower the overall performance. Don't know how they managed to fuck it up that badly with that update.

When I still had the Rift I highly preferred playing Beat Saber without steamvr running. Native Oculus mode made the controller rumble actually usable, try using -vrmode oculus in steam launch settings

One thing I've noticed is that xsoverlay uses quite a lot of cpu which has caused some frame drops for me at 120hz

You could try overclocking if you haven't yet. Even stock performance on your setup should be close to my old setup of a Fury and an overclocked 4690k though, and I rarely had issues.

The GC fix mod I used to need doesn't exist anymore because they finally fixed it in the game. I've been fine without any performance mods since then.
I don't use it, but Particle Overdrive should let you tweak some effects, and I think there's also an in game option to turn some of that down now too.

VRC listed every instance of a world, even empty ones, so you could scroll all the way to the bottom of the list and pick the very last, empty instance and numberdrop that in the thread. it would not get bumped up the list until it started filling up, and by that point it was easy to just start over, dropping a portal to a new empty instance at the bottom of the list.

VRC changing that so only populated instances are shown was the worst change they ever made, unironically. it made the worlds far more fleeting, as otherwise you had much more stability in instances. they felt like actual locations to explore as there were always instances available, and not just "made to order" instances, if that makes sense.

I recall some time ago hearing something along the lines of a lament from Tupper, or a comment, that most groups had retreated to friends+, not just vrg, and vrc wasnt sure what to do about that.

if you want to use cloth, the skirt needs to be a separate mesh.

if you want to use dynamic bones, you just need to set up the dynamic bones. it's easiest if there's a root bone that conencts to all the skirt bones. You can put it on the hip and then use exclusions for everything else, but that will also cause problems on maps that use ragdoll physics. (instead of ragdolling properly, your hip will remain fixed in place while the rest of you does. It's minor, but)

I'd recommend trial and error. If there's 12 bones (with 12 o'clock being at your dick), you'll probably want 1 and 2 o'clock for the right legs and 10 and 11 o'clock for the left legs. Depending on the length of the skirt and how the bones move it'll be the first row directly parented to the hips. In this example it'll be four constraints in total.
Try it out and see how it moves.
