Unity should detect the cgange and will "reimport" the fbx. Can also just destroy the one in the scene though. Reccommend backing up the .fbx in the scene first.

You get perceived 0ms latency on rotations and up to 70ms latency on xyz movement when you move the headset. The game ofc is up to 70ms late so your controllers kind of feel like they have weight to them.

Personally I just adjusted to it. You can play most games just fine except some multiplayer stuff like Pavlov where the latency makes aiming and reacting much harder and puts you in a great disadvantage. For example I played Alyx on ALVR+Quest and it felt like the added movement freedom easily offset any latency issues. It's especially fine for slow paced stuff like VRChat. I have both Index and Quest1 and I prefer Quest1 over Index if I wanna move about in my playspace freely like when going dancing in VRChat. I use Index when the frames and latency really matter, if I wanna use le gimmic finger curl or if I don't want to deal with the battery.

I sold my Oculus Link Cable(tm) as if I'm going wired I might as well use Index. I didn't perceive any difference in latency to Index when using the wire but I bet there's a bit that some people can notice.

If you are playing via Steam VR recalibrate the video calibration in steamVr settings to something that is equal or close to the actual pixel count of the screen.
In general when it says 100% in steamVr it overshoots it and is actual x2 the amount of pixels in the screen. Essentially it's a x2 super sample.

google blocks on steam is a lightweight VR polygon modeler. MasterpieceVR is a subscription sculpting program; it's kind of buggy when I last tried it on the free trial, but has a lot of features supposedly. KanovaVR is a free sculpting program with completely dead development, but hey it's free. Microsoft maquette is a neat VR prototyping tool; you can't do much to edit complex shapes, but it's really nice for laying out a scene in VR with prefabs. Anyland is an also-ran social metaverse program, but it actually has basic poly modeling built in to it. SculptVR is what it says on the tin, has multiplayer even; I've been meaning to try it but haven't got around to it. Tilt brush is more of 3d art 'painting' program than a scultping program or modeling program, but you might be into it.

I'm hoping all the money blender has now will result in official VR editing/sculpting support, but it'll take a while before that happens.

Man. Drago in Creed is really really goddamn hard to beat. The fucker just won't stay down. He gets up from a 9 count and wins almost every time. He only has to knock you down 3-4 times to win with a few clean punches whilst you have to continuously wail on him.
Rocky is really easy in comparison because he's quite short. So you can hook his head easy since he leaves it open a ton. Drago is huge and he just ignores body blows.
You can't block too long either because he staggers you and he can just punch straight through a counter blow.

I found rhino really hard and then just went ultra instinct and wasted him 5 knockdowns to 1. The operator was probably the one I stalled on the most though. Both of them are tall as fuck so you've got to jump backwards before defending to stop them from reaching around your block then jump forward to actually reach them. The hardest difficulty is really unforgiving so any fighter with the rage attribute will just fuck your shit up. You have to stay ahead of them the entire time and that's when they're at their strongest. Also most of them are scaled up to be fucking huge which is arguably more difficult than the stat changes.

Still, the Quest 2 is really holding up well streaming this game even on gen1 5ghz WiFi. The occasional stutter but its nowhere near as bad as it is playing Beat Saber. Its much smoother obviously with wifi6 router I have but then I'd have even less space to move in the rooms I have it set up in.
Also anons, good tip here. Get a medium sized battery pack and two shoelaces and tie it onto the back of the headset. It really helps balance the unit out and you can charge it whilst not using it easier.

I wonder if steamvr can use multiple controllers for position at once - i've seen those new steamvr contextual bindings and some games seem to try to allow you to bind different position trackers to hands, so i hope it'd work even with existing games. Like Alyx, Alyx seems to allow that, though there are no separate bindings for "hand" and "hand with a gun".

good luck with that, PSU's should be pretty long lived though so if they died in close timeframe you might have a bigger problem than the PSU's themselves

PSU - The classic, don't cheap out on your power supply. Get as a minimum an 80+ bronze rated one fro ma reputable brand, I always recommend gold rating. Everything is connected to the PSU at the end of the day, if it's a shitty PSU, it can potentially fail in a violent way and damage other components.
MOTHERBOARD - This is a tricky one, because I have a personal experience with this one. It's funny cause currently there's a post on the front page asking what's the importance of the motherboard... I can assure you, it is important haha

This was the main problem with my first build, I just bought the cheapest motherboard I could find, like dirt cheap. It was an AsRock board.

I would get these awful frame drops while gaming, it was the motherboard overheating because I did not have any heat sinks (it had, but extremely small and ineffective) and it really wasn't made for that. I contacted the GPU manufacturer and they told me it was probably another piece in the build, after 6 months of frame drops I tracked down the problem, when AsRock support answered my mail: "That board wasn't made for heavy loads like that and it will not perform optimally if you play games" or something among those lines :(

The quality of your MOBO can affect stability of your CPU, RAM and others. Pick one that has multiple fan headers, a decent variety of ports on the IO, one with proper cooling, one that has the amount of RAM slots that you need, if you like listening to music maybe a good AMP is not a bad idea... you get my point.

See the MOBO as this giant PCB that you will be taking advantage of while you have your PC, think ahead!!! A MOBO can lasts you AGES if you plan your buy properly, you can upgrade literally everything on the computer and not have to change your MOBO because you really thought ahead.

And they shouldn't be powered up when not in VR.

If they don't automatically turn off with SteamVR either unplug them manually or look into those little remote controlled outlets since that just makes life easy. Plus it keeps them from wearing out faster since they aren't spinning 24/7.

has anyone been able to get pirated saints and sinners working on the quest (1)? I have it downloaded from cs.rin.ru and can launch and play the tutorial but then it crashes at the end every single time, only suggestions I've seen is renaming the .obb file to remove the version number (doesn't work) and doing some stupid shit about only using 1/2 of the obb files then transferring over the second one when it crashed, neither are helping. I just tested myself and I can hear all the way up to 18kHz. Whether I can't hear beyond that or my speakers can't reproduce frequencies higher than that is up for debate.
I can also hear other similarly annoying stuff like some phone chargers just fine.

My Index base stations make no annoying sounds though. They have a whine but it's nowhere near 18kHz and so quiet that I can't hear it unless I'm right next to it.
