I hate having to rip myself away from VR chat to go to work, or any other engagements. Regular normie life becomes a burden in contrast with this world of familiar PS2 graphics and fun player characters. I wish they went all out with those Virtual Market places and made them worlds you explore area by area. Especially the China-punk area. Going around collecting avatars like pokemon, including legendaries with massive animations (like the fate/stay night models) is one of the best parts. Now if only NPCs were better. Should people with high FOV headsets have blinders put on them in competitive games? It seems incredibly unfair that in Pavlov someone like myself who uses a Quest 2 at a 90 degree FOV is just automatically at a disadvantage against someone who paid more for an Index at 130 degrees.

G2 screen resolution is amazing, don't cancel it. Unless you feel that FOV or 144Hz is more important to you. I still can't get over how bad Index controllers are for VRchat. 'victory' and 'rock and roll' gestures fail to work almost every time while the others occasionally fail too. Even restarting the controllers and drumming fingers cannot get the grip to function with sufficient accuracy.

The old WMR controllers had touch pads and offered more buttons because of that.

I still have an old Odyssey (non-Plus) and it was certainly more convenient to have that touchpad, I miss it. Not the end of the world, but gestures in VRChat are far harder to use now, and not every single one is available no matter the custom config. Frankly I wish they kept the old layout, but it seems that people hated it and wanted button parity with Oculus controllers, unfortunately without capacitive sensors it's more of a miss if you ask me, but that's because I only care about VRC.

SS games are fun and simple shooters.
I can only speak for TFE and TSE but their VR ports are pretty good. The game runs great and the gameplay feels around the same, main differences being dual wielding (any weapons) and time stop while changing weapons. Only flaw that comes to mind is the lack of shotgun reload delay so you can shoot them a lot faster than the usual. That and the player model being fucked in the cutscenes but who cares.
The VR ports run in the Fusion engine so mod support and multiplayer are all present, it's recommended to play them in it anyways.
Main attraction would be co-op, the lobbies support up to 16 players iirc.
Also for an additional 3 bucks you can get the Croteam VR bundle instead with Talos VR in it.

The default movement is some teleporting kind and I've no idea why (probably motion sickness), I switched to full locomotion with the analog stick instantly, so yea you can strafe just fine. You can also choose according to what movement orients (head, hand etc.).
You probably already know that the game options in SS games are great getting into autism levels, VR options are decent as well.
One issue I noticed (in TFE) is that when setting up on which hand you control the movement/strafing left means right and right means left (or maybe I was just retarded and read the setting wrong, idk)

There is a custom binding in the workshop that has all of the gestures for VRChat set up. You essentially just multi press from a combination of B/Y, the trigger, and the grip. I was considering buying some old WMR controllers, but honestly given how much nicer the G2 controllers feel and the removal of annoyances like the inaccessible stick clicking and the left and right menus being the same I've come to like the G2 controllers much more.

How trustworthy is the steamVR computer test? I have a 1660 Super, Ryzen 5 2600, and 16 gigs of ram and it says that my PC is more than enough to run VR but Im still a bit skeptical.

I've had my quest 2 just over 3 weeks now and I'm recently ran into the problem of the quest perma freezing during games.
I play linked to my desktop 90% of the time and the game plus steam vr will still being running on my desktop when it happens. Even tracking the movement of my headset, yet the image in the headset itself is frozen and if I look off to either side it's just black.
The only fix is to do a full reboot then reconnect to my desktop. They don't seem to have the issue under oculus troubleshooting either. Anyone had this before or know of any solutions?
