If it's from Booth, you probably don't have to fix it at all. That's intended for converting MMD models to work with VRChat, but Booths are typically built for VRChat in the first place. There's an options menu on the Fix Model button, I'd suggest reverting to the original FBX, pressing this button and turning off everything except Fix Materials.

Unfortunately due to the closed and repetitive nature of /vg/ there's drama and add to that the social nature of VRChat it gets amplified. The issue is VRC has shitty limits for things like poly count, dynamic bones and cloth. If you want to make a good looking outfit it's very easy to go over the poly limit a little. The thing about ideas is that they require a lot of work to bring to reality. When I run events I do tend to run events that are my idea, but isn't that to be expected given the commitment that it takes to run a successful event?
A lot of people post "wouldn't it be cool if" and then seem to expect someone to come along and do all the work.
Regarding discord, I think it's a necessary evil when running a sufficiently complex event. This is especially true when the event will need a map made for it. Most of the groups that do events have a group chat where people organize. The thread just isn't suitable for rapid communication and troubleshooting issues.

I try to make sure my events are publicized and discussed as well in the thread as they are in game and in the discord.

Re-asking because I still can't figure out why the normal map is not working.

How exactly do I edit a normal map correctly so it reflects the changes when I put it into my poiyomi shader? I have never done it before and assumed it wasn't that complicated.

I opened it in photoshop and edited out the part of the normal I no longer wanted (made it blue/purple with no bumps) but when I save this and add it to my shader (replacing the original normal map) it just...does nothing? it takes off the entire normal map from my avatar, the only one that seems to work is the original un edited normal map and idk why

If anyone happens to experience any issues with AC in VR, feel free to try my settings. I use WMR, so I'm using the OpenVR rendering mode. Zuccboys can use the Cucculus mode, even though some people have said OpenVR works better for them as well. I've had the best results with the AP33_Sol15 filter. In my opinion it looks the best, especially at night with a lot of lights on. Lights wont blind you and the night looks dark instead of black. Most people recommend turning sunrays on the first screenshot off, but I have no issues with them on. Checking FXAA off deals with the blurry textures. Most noticeable on the lane markings in the close distance. The graphic adjustmends and lighting fx are in there for performance and to make lights look better.

I haven't bothered to play it VR because performance is very bad even if you have a top end PC, not multi threaded yet.
