Tundra trackers - better battery life, smaller, lighter, cheaper when you account for the USB adapter handling multiple trackers, single USB port, better mounting options, saying fuck you to HTC; in exchange you'll have to wait, there's the risk of the kickstarter failing (low as it seems with an established company like Tundra), could be delayed, potentially worse occlusion handling from being smaller/lower profile.

Anyone ever figure out why the oculus quest 2 likes to just go into USB 2 mode when plugged into a USB 3 port?
I've done the song and dance of "have you tried unplugging it and plugging it into the motherboard" or "are you sure it's a USB 3 port??" or

for some reason, it seems like the headset itself is limiting it to USB 2 speeds since the cable works at full bandwidth and speeds with anything else i plug in over it, even supporting full video output to an external display. so the cable's just fine.

when I plug in the headset, it says it's USB 3 up until I either allow/deny access to device files or connect it via the link software. after either of those, it says it's USB 2 and does all of its normal low bandwidth things with the frame rate and such.

what's new in VR now? should I just keep playing H3VR for another year?

If I don't plan on buying any games through oculus themselves, is the quest two a good option? I'm thinking of getting my brother some cheaper headset so we can play some vr games together, but the zogged status of the quest is off-putting. But if you can skip the "get banned by faceberg and lose your games" aspect by not buying games through them and just buying games through steam or something it would be a slightly more interesting option. Not that I think he'd get banned by faceberg as the only people in my family that use it are my boomer parents and my retard sister, but it's still a kind of lame thing to have as a consideration.

I think LIV only supports 3. Honestly the 7 tracker package was mostly intended for industry level body tracking for movies and such. I'm adding outfits to my booth model in blender, when i get the model back into unity some of the armature has been changed name wise and when i use pumpkin tools to copy over dynamic bones and colliders they aren't all copying. Is there anyway to fix this or do I have to add them manually now?

Been playing Altdeus lately, and I noticed the character models have a lot of jagged, blurry lines on their bodies, especially their hair. They become a lot more blurry if they're at a distance, but look better if they're close to me. Is this just how the game is made, or I can fix it? Already tried upping the resolution and SuperSampling on Steam, but it has no noticeable effect.

It's usually cloth skirts or the breast bones having issues. Even though they're parented properly they just don't work well. Polycount isn't really that big of a hinderance on frames. Poorly Optimized shaders and high particle effects are worse. Large meshes with all of your blendshapes are worse. 3.0 toggles don't render in all of the untoggled meshes either. Do some testing if you think otherwise. Go to a world with a few friends and watch your frame count as you try different avatars with different types of features. My 300k poly booth with 12 outfits didn't drop extra frames for anyone vs the same exact outfit only with no toggles and much less total polys. My friend is really good at making crazy animations and particle effect with crazy custom shaders. All of those dropped our frames harder than any avatars with optimized shaders and high poly counts. He made one where his avatar climbs into a giant mech and operates it, immediately cuts everyones fps by half.

Alrighty here's the quick and dirty explanation, so I used the VRLabs World Constraint and setup both my DJ Station and the music under the same container. The DJ Station spawns and will stay in that spot, causing any other things spawned under the container (i.e. my music) to use the current active position. See pic related

Now I have one last issue, and it's the simplest "issue" to fix and that is music volume. Can anyone help me with these settings for optimal volume? It seems like when I change things I only end up lowering the volume and I have no clue what any of the audio terms mean.

So trying to add the new penetrator thing that's been going around to my dong. It says in the txt: "Remove all bones and make sure the mesh is not a child component of an armature or another object in blender."

I don't really get it, is it saying to actually just remove all the bones in my dong's mesh and delete the armature? if I do that it will lose it's dynamic bone stuff which is obviously not how it works
