This preset's color contrast is a bit high but it can be lowered easily via the slider after pressing the Home button on your keyboard. It's night and day in some games as you can see the little whorls and cracks in stone and wood from a good distance.

Is it possible for people to cheat in pavlov VR? I am honestly suspicious of some players when I play. They just lift their gun up, instant headshot me in 1 hit, then keep moving like they didn't even do anything. How is it even possible? Sure some people could be that good because they've played a long time or maybe they have real life training or something, but I really doubt I'm running into serious ex-pro kinds of people in this.

When I try and aim it feels pretty awkward and controlling the recoil is hard because my hands are just floating in space and not holding a real gun or anything. I enjoy playing the game and everything but fighting against some people feels impossible. They see you, instantly kill you, then go.

FBT will not come from Oculus for a long time. They don't want to make it something you have to strap on, because that makes VR more of a mental hassle, which they specifically made a priority to beat down with the Quest line. That means they're looking into camera-only solutions, which will take a lot of time to perfect (just look at how bad Kinect is; even more recent research papers don't have terribly great results).

An alternative is that VR becomes mainstream and suddenly a lot of people start getting the type of FBT you strap on. Then they might consider doing instead tracking pucks that use inside-out cameras, which will probably be good enough by then (so it'll be like the ARCore FBT thing people are doing, but a lot more streamlined and also better in tracking). That will beat Lighthouse pucks as you won't need base stations. Or someone else will do it, seeing as Android and ARCore are pretty standard things.

You want to create a float (not an int) in both your FX layer and your expression parameters, just like you'd create an int for a toggle. In your expression menu, you create a radial puppet, and set the parameter it adjusted to the float you created. In the animation state in your FX layer where you put the animation, you check the Normalized time checkbox and set the parameter to the same float. Now your radial puppet will go from 0-100, and that will scrub through the animation from the first to last frame.

Anybody else having or had issues pairing a Quest 2 with either an Xbox Elite Series 2 or Switch Pro? The stupid fucking App isn't pairing properly. Always says "something went wrong" during the scan and pairing.

First time I put one on I was like "Holy shit, this is awesome" and it just felt so fucking good and comfortable.

I think I just have a thick skull or shitty skin because the "They're so uncomfortable" thing makes no sense at all to me.

I could wear my CV1 for hours and hours, same for my Quest. I don't feel them at all once i'm into the game. Same for face interfaces, everyone's like "Ohh it's so uncomfortable!" and i'm just standing there like "I have no idea what you're talking about I cannot feel it".

In all honesty low volume devices are hit or miss for high quality- they can be good like the original vive HMD, or bad like the first generation index controllers
the vive dildos from the vive pro never break, (and hte only part that went bad on the og ones was the touchpad, and it's easy to fix) and the Quest 2 controllers are also built to last. The OG vive basestations have lasted most people since they were released.

If people adopt FBT like Valve's (HTC, Tundra, or others'), then Oculus will have more reason to get into FBT, just like how they have no reason to come out with a Pro model right now (not a PC VR model, but a Pro mobile model), but if the market gets big enough that even a niche segment of this "niche" becomes a good source of revenue, then they might do it, and apparently they will. If people don't adopt that FBT, then Facebook absolutely won't invest in that.

And it's not going to be a power/technological problem, I'm not sure why you would think that. The headset's battery life wouldn't be impacted. The pucks would have cameras on them and run inside-out tracking on them, which can be accelerated by a dedicated ASIC. The image data wouldn't be transmitted, it would be processed on the pucks. That also gives the advantage of power savings because you can integrate the ASIC close to the camera sensor.

Even if we try prototyping early versions of it right now, we could get at least 2 hours from a full charge, because we know Quest itself can already last that long, and that's while running games, running the screen, running controller tracking, and doing other processing. A dedicated puck could easily do 3+ hours which will outlast the headset, and we can still connect powerbanks if we want. And that's just today. Facebook would not get into this business any time soon, so by the time that FBT is something that is profitable, there would be better and more efficient software + hardware to do SLAM.

The lenses are separate yes, parented to the frame, which as you can see isn't moving.

No missing texture, I just really like CGA colours, the frame is CGA High Cyan, the "Lenses" (Actually squiggly glow-sticks) are emissive CGA High Magenta. I realise this may look like a missing texture but if you see them in-game you'll understand.
