I tried Quest's Air Link yesterday and figured it's worth sharing with everyone:

Virtual Desktop is still my preferred way to play PCVR games with Quest 2. Air Link and cable Link seem to have strong aliasing and slightly washed out colors compared with VD. Cable Link also uses the most GPU.

VD also has a nice desktop view which is rendered within a native quest environment and looks super sharp and the colors vibrant.

Wireless PCVR on Quest 2 with FBT hybrid setup is probably the best setup rn, depending on your exact needs. Quest 2 is the best VR to recommend to anyone right now, casual or hardcore. Index is way more expensive, and while it has higher FOV and better image quality (for PC), the controllers suck and I also can't be doing with RMAs. And it's wired vs wireless. And it doesn't have optional standalone. Being able to use Quest in a car or when visiting family is awesome, even if just to watch content on a big virtual screen in a comfy virtual lounge.

I do hope HTC somehow pull something magical out of their ass since I'd like to have a proper quality PCVR headset but I have no faith in them (I want much larger FOV and non-compressed image quality)

When I first tried it a while ago, it was indeed much worse than Rift S, and the tracker playspace became tilted. Spinning on my chair would fuck it up totally. However, now these issues seem to be totally resolved and the offset issues seem to be the same as Rift S now.

What I don't understand is how people can deny that the discord pulling in a huge amount of people who have never been here is harmful.

The Xtals at least let you buy straight from their site but are 75hz unless you use QHD mode. That's disappointing. Given that 4K@120hz just werks with HDMI 2.1/Displayport I'd hoped that a VR headset that could at least compare to my desktop monitor would exist at this point. I just replaced my CV1 for an Index. I know the Index will have more glare than the other headsets, but what is considered normal or not?
When playing Assetto Corsa, it's very noticeable, and it seems to be the road reflecting on the bottom of the lenses. It's when I look up or down that it disappears since the the roof and wheel/dashboard are darker than the road

It would appear that although there was once a reliable way to play Half Life 2 and it's episodes in VR, updates to Garry's Mod in the last year have now made this impossible and ruined all the mods built to make it work.

You can kinda get in there and stand around but the weapons don't work right, the SMG spits out missing texture errors instead of casings, and I couldn't figure out how to make any weapon do an Alt fire.
