People will always group up and create their own groups, the problem is that some of these groups try to integrate themselves with vrg to the point of users preferring to post in any other form besides the thread. Again will always happen, but a lot of our problems have come from the fact we have a community that welcomes everyone and is very easy to get into and that causes us problems, especially when the people that cause problems are in charge and have admitted they barely use the thread only checking to see if someone is shitposting them. Part of the innate perk of threads in general is that people are anonymous and if someone is a dick they can do so because they feel so without worrying about image or dumb shit, and yet the opposite is true as well: If you're a decent person often people will defend you to some extent. The reason we even made the steam group and the discord is because Dal assumed gossip would destroy our community but the opposite happened. This community became so obsessed with identity that we can't even say the obvious that discord and steam aren't 4chan, and when trying to push away the groups we're met with constant screaming.

I'm not sure about the G2, though I haven't had issues using my Knuckles with my Odyssey+ after the initial configuration.

However the Vive Pro 2 is a native lighthouse tracked headset that can pair directly to the Index controllers. It uses the same base stations and software everything rather than some third party system. Given that it's outright cheaper to buy the Vive Pro 2+Knuckles over getting the bundle with the Vive wands I just think that the Index controllers are the best option for that headset. Complaining about the controller on the setup is irrelevant IMO.

it's a lot of fun, with a lot of depth to the physics-based movement, weapons, and teamplay, and (mostly) well-balanced between all the options. However, it is purely PvP multiplayer (with stupid bots for practice and some anemic PvE modes), and the only sources of players are its official discord or this thread, pretty much. What some people do is have a hidden mesh inside the head and to make certain expressions they make that mesh to appear on front of the face.
Just to give an example, my avatar has tears hidden on the head, the blendshape just moves the tears and makes them bigger. Another example would be when making a blushing face, the blush is also hidden inside the head and by using a blendshape it makes it bigger and it appears on the face of the model.
You can use UV offsets, but you have to set that up on unity.

You can use the stencil buffer to invisibility effects, with some caveats. For your case, have the materials of the meshes you want hidden use a stencil test of NotEqual, then have your hiding mesh write the same stencil id, with a lower render queue.

I think you could prevent most shaders from appearing by using that configurable shader, set zwrite to on, and set the offset to something negative, and set the render queue to Background + 1. you can animate stuff in blender and export them to unity along with the fbx. If you spend some time setting up rigs in blender it can sometimes be easier than unity.

I am working on a new avatar which has two fans on it. I want to animate the fans to constantly spin but the bones aren’t oriented towards an axis in unity so the animation will need to work on multiple axes to make them spin in place. I tried to do this just in unity but when I tried I could only get the fan to wildly pivot all over the place. Is there some kind of plug-in I can use that will allow me to animate rotation relative to the bones’ axis or something? How would I go about doing this?

I'm not sure how exactly are you trying to do it now, but i think i mean second option: adding fans as separate objects nested inside another gameobject, then animating inner gameobject from outer gameobject's perspective. To be honest, i only have general unity knowledge and not avatar knowledge (are you using bones to use one mesh and improve performance? can you put a bone attached to another bone, and then create new animation from outer bone's perspective, so you're only changing local rotation of inner bone while outer bone is connected to rest of the model?), so i'm not sure what is the correct approach for this stuff in avatar making, but i feel like your problem is that you're trying to animate an object that's not nested inside something. If you can add animator/animation and then play it, then you need to have nested objects inside objects to avoid having trouble with orientation of object, because changing local rotation of object inside object would make it spin only the way you want it to spin.
