Congrats, I think it took me a couple of days to confidently clear master songs.
I think it'd be a good idea to focus on songs that feel fun to play in case others don't want to tryhard, but if people want to play harder songs that's also possible. There's a no-fail setting that the host can enable.

The quest 2 controllers are arguably BETTER then the index controllers do to weight and ergonomics of the trigger and the thumbstick not being garbage. Headphone setup can be as well, since the index built in phones are passable. Tried out Synth Riders and it was pretty fun, playing songs on expert made me panic though with all the spins and occasional notes thrown in. Exclusives and travel mostly. RE4VR and Galaxy's Edge were neat. Cities Skylines looks like it could be interesting. Dr.Beef's ports of Doom3, HL1VR and RTCWVR are pretty neat too, but when it comes to PCVR I'll choose the Index over the Quest 2 every time. It's just by far and away the superior experience.

I got a Q2 after being on index for so long. It's easy to forget that the index sacrificed stereo overlap to move FOV using canted displays. This means things look less 3D if outside of the narrow forward arc.

On the Quest you also have much higher resolution and almost not glare or internal reflections. The Index was a big step above the first HMDs in regards to screen door affect but the Quest is well beyond that.
Over all it's flaws I find VR far more immersive in the quest. Everything looks more "there"

One of the first things I did was buy Virtual Desktop because Airlink looked like ass and stuttered like crazy even next to my router. Isolated to 5ghz and all. I did all the optimisations and it works....fairly well for non demanding games, but for some reason some of these heavy hitting pcvr games makes the compression shit itself. I was led to believe that you would get a better experience with link if you had a good cable vs even the best wifi airlink/vd setup.

I think there's enough variation in styles for anime in general, but there have always been trends that most creators tend to follow throughout a decade.
VRChat favours the 2010s and forward styles, with traits such as the only hinted nose and split mouth, and there's further centralization by people using the same few shaders and professional avatar creators making something similar to what is selling well on Booth.

There's probably a sweet spot for how much out of place one looks, which might be mostly down to preference. But to me that sweet spot is looking unique without looking jarringly out of place.
A group photo where you are the only one using an antiquated shader might make it look like the map's lighting (or yours) is broken, rather than you having made conscious choices on how you want to look in that lighting.

I found it very workable if you stay seated. But the main issue getting in the way of the gameplay is melee. As melee is all physics based now it is always kind of uncertain if you can knock a dude out with a wrench as you have to physically move the weighted item fast enough to a guy's head versus just press a button. It's especially hard if you are crouching as your arms can't always reach the dude's head or neck. I'm still going to continue playing the game in VR, but more for casual runs than some things like the elusive targets.

have you tried changing the worldscale? ever since I changed the world scale in steamvr, it fixed the height issues I had with standing and maybe it's just a placebo/me getting used to the jank but even throwing and interacting feels better now that everything doesn't feel slightly too small. I don't think they'll ever improve it to the level that we would like, but so long as they fix throwing (my biggest complaint) and punching/hitting with objects, smooth out movement a bit, and let me physically crouch then I'd be happy with it. I would also like transitional animations for things like jumping over barricades, but I'm skeptical that they'll do that.

Try to do an exaggerated haymaker punch with a big wide swing, that's what I do and it often will KO them in one hit. I think trying to fight them in more of a boxing way probably ends up with the janky slap fights that I see in the webms
