Why?
I have zero motivation to play VR games and haven't used my headset or peripherals in months...
Can I hope to see an Elder Scrolls-like VR game with physics based combat and interaction based skills (alchemy, crafting, smithing) in my lifetime ?
>>373547147
since it'd be too much for mobile hardware (and meta going to die soon anyway) and quest has already killed pcvr likely not
>>373547147
Sounds a lot like Kingdom Cum but in VR. The problem would be make all the smithing/alchemy interactable. Crafting is going to be a huge fucking pain to do that way though, unless you heavily cut down the recipes you have in the game.
>>373548347
Hopefully if Meta dies then the next Volvo headset is good (works wirelessly with decent tracking and reasonably priced granted the Steam Deck doesn't bomb. The problem is that from what I understand the Quest/Quest 2 is already a huge loss to sell at that price.
>>373548921
The quest 2 might sell at a loss but that doesn't mean facebook isn't profiting from it. Most people that get it buy shit from the oculus store (even if most anons don't) and facebook takes a 30% cut iirc. Fun fact, nintendo sold a ton of their consoles at a loss because they knew they were gonna make it up in game sales. Similar shit here.
>>373549142
>nintendo sold a ton of their consoles at a loss
The opposite. They only time they came close was the 64 and GC. Everything since then has been underpowered but profitible for them (except wiiu lmao).
Welcome back racer!
EU Assetto Corsa: European Racing club season 4!
Race 18.
19:00 UTC, Monday 21st of February
5 hours remaining!
We are going east, east to Vladivostok, almost in Japan. Here we will race Kartings! No bullshit, no gears, just accelerator, break, your racing line and funny people on other karts.
1 hour practice, 15 minute qualifiers, 20 lap race.
Afterwards we'll go visit German Feldbergring again, for some chill driving around German countryside, it was extremely enjoyable. Alternatively we might do some drifting in the Zmeinka track, depending on the mood.

>no vr games with radiation mutation
In general, messing with the player's body is underrated in VR. There's massive untapped potential for body horror and other less horror experiences, but most devs stick to floating hands and it's all so tiresome.
>>373560526
Still waiting for quake 4 stroggification in vr. Give the player a strong sense of association first; EG by putting inventory slots on the arms legs and hips. They frequently use them and start to associate these parts with themself.
Then you bring out the saws, tie them down and fucking cut them apart.
>>373560526
we already have the game which shall not be named for this
>>373560526
Yeah I thought Stormland was cool with how you could replace your limbs and upgrade yourself like a bionicle.
Is there a game on the level of 'enjoyable, easy violence' as Blade & Sorcery? I'm always open to variety but it's a pain having to reinstall mods whenever there's an update.
Is Tokyo Chronos any good? I kind of want to try it now that the designer is doing the new Soul Hackers, but I have no idea if the game is a well written VN at all.
>>373560526
I liked how Stormland let you rip your own limbs off to replace them with better ones. It's a good format. There's also Evolution VR which is a (free) Spore cell stage clone.
Found a very different tape in ItR. I'm guessing it is Russian radio.

Green Hell VR got a pre-release demo on Steam today as part of the Next Fest.

To the dude complaining about ammo prices in the last thread. ITR 1.0 has knives that actually do damage and are thrown slightly differently. A knife that you can find all over the place will serve you a long time. Black fragments unfurl in one thrown knife, maybe two, and their core can be destroyed in another stab. Either way you'll carry 8 knives on entering the radius and use them as your primary once you figure them out. I used a mosin and OC33 for a very long time in 1.0. Sniping mimics and sliders before moving in, clearing rooms with the pistol, and taking my time to bait and knife any melee only enemy including spawns. In 1.0 too the enemies make a lot more noise so you could actually plan and get a good idea of what was around before engaging. Probably my biggest urk with 2.0 is the change in volume of sounds. Spider spawns used to make a buzzing noise you could hear from well outside their leaping range. I had honed my reflexes to immediately sidestep and dodge when I heard it, spin, quickdraw, and fire into where I heard it land. Now you only hear their jump and sometimes only their landing impact. Fragments too you could hear them walking from a longer distance away and their squelching footsteps were clear enough to even count how many there were before you could see them. Their howling you could hear as soon as they were agro'd from max distance too. Sliders' sonic boom was really fucking loud previously too and was a fantastic reminder that if you could hear it you had to be extremely careful and start figuring out where it was or avoid that area completely.
Now in 2.0 I hardly hear any enemy sounds except the distant shots of mimics which are for some reason the clearest sound in the game. Even more clear than your own gunshots. It's good these sounds are clear, everything else being quiet is the problem. I heard they've hired a sound designer now so maybe these things will be fixed but even rolling them back to 1.0 would be a huge improvement.

It's Green Hell but in VR, the demo is the entire tutorial before it spits you out into the actual game.
Performance is awful, I'm getting stutter on medium-high settings with a 3700 and 3070 so god knows what they've gimped to run it on Quest 2. Visually it can look muddy as hell but other times I think it looks alright, definitely has the atmosphere of a jungle and some effects like the campfire look great. Looks much better in screenshots than VR.
Range of VR interactions are very good but all of them feel a little rough. The backpack is great once you get used to it and captures the tetris inventory management from the flatgame well. You can bring out the backpack or put stuff over your shoulder to store it. Tools and equipment go on the backpack or in two hip holsters which I find get in the way all the time like in Zenith. Crafting seemed okay, you just put the relevant items on a bench and select the result or use a notebook to create placeables. You can force grab and pick up most objects, even random stuff like pots and pans but unfortunately you can't use them to beat an Iguana to death, I already tried that. Some people are struggling with jank way more than I did, wasn't even close to unplayable for me except for the performance.

I found the pump action in ItR. It is incredible with slugs. I don't even have ironsights on it and I'm oneshotting armored mimics across the map.
>>373591113
It's got the potential to be a solid VR game like Saints & Sinners if they can seriously optimize it.

greendayle is fine but the rest arent and probably ruined him
>>373586992
I just tried it out. Everything felt okay but they need to optimize it like you said. What I found annoying was that I kept accidentally grabbing my hip items while trying to pick something up from the ground etc.
Haven't played the flat version but from what I've gathered it's basically like The Forest but with more focus on survival? Looking forward to the full release either way since it seems to be an actually finished game and a decent VR port.
>>373592830
>Remember if you see a totem, go no further. They're clear warnings

Looks like it could be pretty solid. Campaign missions and story are what vr are really missing right now. Some improvement needed on the distant grab, some colliders need to be removed on the player layer for comfort, and the object interaction collision boxes probably need to be bigger so you can do them with less need for precision. Interactions with the environment are good, backpack is neat, graphics not so great, runs like complete ass. High hopes none the less.
>>373583252
yeah, all three gangs
am i missing something or is something just bugged in ITR. Can't spray oil and can't use lighter
>>373602935
I hope that they port the Spirits of Amazonia DLC to the VR version too. It looks like a very high effort port.

Ninja Legends isnt too bad.
The Last Taxi Driver sucks. It's an entirely on rails game focused on VN-style conversations rather than anything. You can't actually drive, just honk your horn or use the windshield wipers occasionally. But the writing and voice acting are too terrible to make that focus work at all.
>>373631539
>You can't actually drive
How the fuck do these terrible ideas ever make it to completion?
>>373631890
I don't know, and I am the kind of person who likes visual novels too. Wait for Lo-Fi.
>>373575974
>VR game
>pre release demo
No, that's the full game basically. That'll be 49.99.
I can't believe that they got away with a game about battling minorities and eating capybaras in 2020. The game ticks off my checkbox on having proper weight based physics collisions between your hands, items, and the environment rather than things clipping through each other or being made out of feathers. That and it has genuinely nifty mechanics like your big VR backpack and physically chopping down wood, whittling down the sticks, and crafting things with your machete. It's definitely better than The Forest in VR for sure. The real kicker is that the full game will have co-op which will be a hoot. I'll definitely host some lobbies for it.
The performance is baaad though. FSR lets me live with the pain, but I can only imagine how terrible the Quest version of the game is. Some interactions like force grabbing I feel should be based on what you point at with your palm rather than your fingertips as it is right now.
This worth playing?

It's not part of the Steam next fest, but consider trying out District Steel's pre-release demo as well. Make sure to make the rocket arm directed. It's a pretty fun shooter where you can rocket slide around and slow time while shooting robots and traversing around looking for hidden stuff. The game performs very well thanks to simple geometry.

This is just a revived vrvg from 2019/2020 but the OP is stubborn and doesn't want to label it it that way so if you want to be technical this is about thread #8 or so. vrg is still live and kicking. Check it out: I'm an avatarfag. Making mods for this game is actually not that hard. You need like four or five different programmes just to go through all the steps which is horrible and unreal engine needs the epic games store. Making a mod to change textures isn't so bad but meshes require a bunch more work setting up file paths and fake materials. Unity and unreal are different beasts too when it comes to basic stuff like applying materials and textures. I get the feeling though that it's just my experience with unity and lack of experience with unreal that makes unreal feel awkward. I also have never made a mod for an unreal engine game before. Closest would have been the anchor I made for blade and sorcery (unity) and only other mod making experience was some shit in rimworld (literally just text and image file edits because that game has godly, ground-up mod support). Once the mod is made however it's easy to get them in game - just drag and drop the .pak into the pak folder.
This mod (and other avatarfagging ITR mods) available for your use on request.
>>373673293
Throw them in your stove to get rid of them. Though yeah you can manually open and close the lid by grabbing the top.
>>373676364
You might as well sell them for 3 dollars if you've taken them all the way back to Vanno. Empty ammo boxes are one thing that should be made to lose condition and eventually get destroyed if left on the ground.
>>373676630
Ammo boxes also sell for money, I'm not wasting that shit. What's annoying is that the big ammo crates also just sell for $3, so the smaller boxes are actually cheaper once you factor in box selling.

Why do VR hardware devs think two face buttons is the maximum possible?
>>373715464
I don't see how it would be microsoft's fault, if that's what you're implying. MS Flight Sim 2020 got VR by popular request, it even got motion controls, which is way more than most simulators can do. Beth is allowed to do whatever they want, it's on them. And I know we're talking Bethesda Softworks, but id released Doom 3 VR after the acquisition.
>>373720114
Fuck knows, maybe some people are too dumb for more than 2 buttons.
>>373720114
I used to think the same, but VR has way more freedom than what standard controllers offer, and psvr2 also has finger tracking. Besides, it's the standard.
>>373722379
Only having two buttons for Pavlov is a hassle though, when you really need three to not have retarded shared controls:
>magazine drop
>fire mode
>bolt release
I can get around it with long presses and double presses, but it makes the controls slower to use. I'd rather just have four buttons and put scoreboard/radio on the fourth. Inb4 Index trackpad, I have Index, but the trackpack is so unreliable you can't put any essential control on it so it's currently just the scoreboard and radio for me, which doesn't matter if it fails to register.
>>373703004
4K HDR screens sounds actually very cool, sadly it's PSVR
>>373720114
Maybe it's to force lazy game devs to actually set up VR oriented control interactions instead of just mapping everything to buttons like a flat game
>>373723046
Vive controls work surprisingly. There's the trackpad and the menu button. Trackpad left and right to turn, up for fire select, down to drop mag, and menu button for bolt release. Buy menu only comes up if you haven't moved from spawn within a certain time and is opened with pressing in the middle of the trackpad. Vive controls are usually pretty shit but it's for the same reason - shared controls. When they try to put trackpad touch and trackpad press to do different things you get problems. Even worse is when they try to do trackpad swipe for controls. That's absolute cancer because of how awkward it is. The trackpad is nice and responsive even on my 4 year old ones. The thing that breaks most often is the trackpad press going soft and not registering.

I don't know and it sucks. I like that using the Index's touchpads in dpad mode with overlap at 75% or 100% lets me get three or two more buttons respectively. It makes a lot of flat game ports much more playable and are nice for other things too. Not having to page through extra menus when playing Vivecraft and being able to have a dedicated button for each weapon in GTFO versus having to cycle through them on the go is great. I can't imagine using Oculus style controllers and their few buttons as a result.
>>373725570
>isnt it the only game from mstf that has vr?
I think so, and plus people had to beg for them to add it, at first they weren't going to have VR. It's even weirder as Microsoft came up with WMR then have basically done nothing with it
>>373720114

i'm strongly considering pulling kyoani on microsoft HQ for not including VR support in forza horizon. I can't say i even enjoy forza recipe all that much since i was grown on GT series (finished fh4 though, bit of love, bit of hate, fun vidya overall) but god damn, i'd love FH4/5 in VR so much. Plus, adding VR support to racing game should be one of the easiest VR ports to do of them all. But no, they made it full flat.

>>373822369
Does anyone know why Microsoft seems to either hate VR or be really disinterested in it?
>>373822369
You should probably blame the actual developer. Anyway, forza is a console first game, and xbox doesn't have VR.
>>373822471
They don't, where did you get that impression? It's just that xbox is at the bottom of the console race and VR games on it would sell even less, I don't think the series S could even run VR well. Microsoft has done a lot for VR already.

I've sank what I would consider an "okay amount" of time in VR doing stuff like Beatsaber and felt physically fine. But Payday when attempting to play with friends is wrecking me. >>373860561
To add on to what >>373862672 said
Virtual stock if you have shaky noodle arms until you've built up the muscle memory. Turn it off when you feel comfortable.
On long range push maps or when using single shot weapons, aim a bit in front and let the enemy walk into your sights rather than chasing them with your sights.
Avoid standing stationary unless most of your body is covered up by something, it's a death sentence on obvious corners.
Throw grenades with more accuracy and distance control by pushing them like a shotput throw.
Think about unusual angles, the less the enemy expects you the longer it will take them to shoot back. Even better when you let a few pass then gun them down from behind.
Play with the guns you enjoy, in the gamemodes you enjoy and on the maps you enjoy most of all.
>>373860906

It's a janky, old, but really fun high speed roller skating game, also pretty cheap too if you look on Lebanese keysmith sites.
If you've never played before, make sure to at least try the game beforehand because there's a semi-long tutorial. Also do up to the intermediate/advanced tutorials so you can handle drifting and gripstreams.
Lastly, if you're using a valve index, you'll have to use one of the custom community bindings, since this game never received index controller support.

I played through the demo of quantaar, I didn't realize they have had next fest demo. It's a sort of 3d smash game, here's me fighting some cpus:
https://streamable.com/b0u9wf
Mechanically it's surprisingly polished, very smash-core attack/jump/charge/shield/roll. Mapping on the index controllers is a bit weird (pressing down left joystick for shield), but I could see myself getting used to it. I don't really like its sort of overwatch hero shooter aesthetic personally, especially the character voices, but I appreciate the consistency, and no asset flips in sight. VR obviously doesn't add much to the genre (beyond the gimmicky throwing stuff at opponent's viewpoints), but it's nice the devs at least officially support it.
I think multiplayer actually works in the demo but didn't bother to try with randos. if anybody here wants to try it sometime, reply to this post.

Morrowind Multiplayer VR
https://mega.nz/file/GLxk1LaR#SZ4fYgi-uUOWhmM2aclkKM6Z9fzF8OF9u6rI7Ppa7mc
This openmw-vr and tes3mp client was merged together by Arawen with 1000 rolls of digital ducktape
there will probably be glitches
I'll keep my server up for as long as I can.
The server appears on the master server list as "VRGG"
I made this discord for voice chat:
https://discord.gg/a8gMvE9T
I have a special bot in the discord where if you make your discord nickname match your morrowind character name the bot will automatically generate and move you into a voice channel that matches your in-game location for location-based voice chat.
Quest progress is synced for all players but joined factions and reputation are not. Outdoor cells reset every 3 hours and indoor cells reset every hour. The day/night cycle is 3 hours.
VR Control scheme here:
https://openmw-vr.readthedocs.io/en/latest/manuals/openmw-vr/controls.html
How to setup VR tes3mp:
Install Morrowind Game of the Year Edition.
Then go to the Morrowind install location where the Morrowind.exe is located and there will be a folder there called "Data Files".
Copy all of the files from the "Modified Data Files" folder in this package and paste them into your Morrowind install "Data Files" folder and let them overwrite.
Then in the VRtes3mp folder open openmw-launcher.exe.
It should automatically open the openmw wizard, if it does not then run openmw-wizard.exe.
Follow the wizard and point it to your Morrowind install "Data Files" folder and select "Morrowind.esm".
Finish the wizard and let it import settings from Morrowind.ini and import add-on and plugin selection.
Now go back into the openmw-launcher and select the Data Files option.
Make it look like the picture (VRGGmodlist.jpg), you can drag the esm and esp files up and down the list until they are in the correct load order and make sure that they are all checked.
Then click "Advanced" at the top of the page.
Go to the VR tab on the far right.
check Prefer sRGB swapchains
check Use shared shadow maps
check Debug: Prefer DirectX Swapchains
check Debug: Continue on errors
Leave the rest unchecked unless you want bad performance.
Set the Real height (Meters) value to your standing height or leave it on default.
If you want to be able to see far into the distance go to the visuals tab and check Distant Land at the bottom and then once you are in game drag the view distance slider all the way into the far position in the in-game options menu.
Plug in your VR
Now you are ready to press the play button and start the game.
VR Control scheme here:
https://openmw-vr.readthedocs.io/en/latest/manuals/openmw-vr/controls.html
Pay attention to the recenter button because you will be using it alot.
On the in game options menu you can maximize your view distance and there are additional vr options such as seated mode and smooth turning.
>>373941035
In the vr options turn off the mirror texture to improve performance.
Seated mode is preferred because you will often desync playspace location from your player body so you dont want to move around too much.
Use the recenter button to snap back to your player body and recenter menus to your center of vision.
Use the F2 key on your keyboard to hide or show the chat. Use the Y button on your keyboard to interact with chat. A virtual keyboard will appear attached to your left wrist.

what was the name of that big budget vr game that came out a few weeks ago and was being shilled constantly?
>>374012558
After the Fall?

Zenith? It had 10 million in funding and was shilled because all it is was an MMO on VR.
>>374013653
yes thanks. is it any good
>>374013830
It's a pretty basic MMO (go to this location, kill these mobs, etc.)
Also there's a bunch of bugs and glitches.
I hate the new endgame and will probably return later in the year to see the progress of the game.

>>374021352
neat, multiplayer did actually work. game is empty though as expected and unfortunately you're forced into 4 player matches with bots, no 1v1, and everything is a little bit buggy in terms of inviting people and exiting matches. But still fun though, has spatialized voice chat. I'd recommend trying if that type of game appeals to you and 3 other friends.
>>374026368
It's cool. I think that I'll need to grind to see what other builds can be made with the cores for the game to really open up.
Is there a tower defense game with Tony Hawk mechanics?
>>374026764
>tower defense game with Tony Hawk mechanics
explain
>>374029083
You build towers but they also form a flowing skate park. Skating towers builds up combo points and ending a combo on a tower temporarily powers up its attack in scale with the combo. Some towers look like half pipes, vertical, rails, gaps, etc. Rails can be built to string far away sections togther and avoid having to skate through the enemy mobs. You can designate empty plots to build towers on and speed up construction by ending combos in its slot while it's building. Planning out where you'll end a combo is crucial as well as building skate loops that allow you to access certain tower types easily based on the levels enemy types. Bosses are all giant and have some skatable element on their bodies. Tony Hawk Shadow of Collusus. You must master building while skating.

Main takeaway is to get a mod manger, (Everyone seems to hate Vortex for a mod manager but I had no issues with it so I recommend it.) get the VR version of SKSE for mods, then HIGGS and VRIK to turn it into a real VR game, the rest is up to your taste in mods. This is my vanilla-ish mod list. I really like Cathedral Landscapes since it looks nice and has a positive performance impact.

I remember seeing this comment yesterday, saying nothing, but I think I should say that VR is something you do once in a while. Unless you turn it into a daily habit. At that point, it might be a hobby or job.
I just started Walking Dead Saint and Sinners. Is there something if I save Henri's head?
>>374055116
VR is my Hobby. I play VRchat like 50 hrs a week and Blender/Unity at like 50 hrs a week too.
>>374055350
How? The controls in Blender/Unity in OVR is sort of strange, so I found the programs to be somewhat unusable. I needed a mouse, and at that point, I would have been using a HMD with KB+M.
>>374055529
Yeah I use Blender and Unity Flat but everything I do in it is to fuel my VR addiction.
BUT on a more serious note check your eyes on THIS!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZrXAEsYiIyE
>>374055584
This seems workable within the HMD. Pretty cool, I wonder if Blender 3.0 supports voxelized sculpting. I guess you could also get away with proportional selection or something to merge vertices, but you would need to hotkey that set up maybe. There are some programs like Kodon and Kanova that I think work better for VR sculpting at the moment.
>>374055928
Temporary live binding picker might do wonders for it. Imagine the painter's color picker but instead of colours it's command buttons.\ that you place on the pallette.
That should solve quick select within a VR interface.

I've been getting really into ITR the past week after buying it and having a lot of fun. Bought the 27 round glock with a laser and supp feeling badass. Has anyone had major mission glitches? Trying to do a couple side missions where I have to locate something but it simply isn't there. Trying to shove my arms into foliage and shit but nothing works. One even had me use the detector thing and it makes the noise when I flash it but there's nothing to grab off the ground, then any audio cue disappears. Gunna get real lit tonight, then off to the factory for my next main mission. Have a couple hundred rounds of AP and thinking of buying some armor.Any tips?

I previously passed on this game do to TAA induced blur and smearing. But Now that I have a Quest 2 I have come back to it.
The difference is that Steam VR super sampling gets applied before Unreal TAA. So you could set it to 300% and everything still look like shit.
On Oculus API it would seam super sampling is applied after so applying SS of 1.5 on Quest 2 actually fixes shit. This was the same on other Unreal engine games in the past when I moved to Index.

>>374304669
You can play solo zombie maps without any other players, but you'll miss out on the majority of the gamemodes. If zombie maps are all you want then you'll never need to talk to another person.
I think a server is required to play custom maps (you can play the regular zombhies gamemode with no server), maybe pick it up on sale if it gets a huge discount in the event custom maps can be played without a server in a future update

>didn't know until know that my Quest 2 was playing PCVR games at 90fps instead of 120fps because I only had enabled it in the AirLink settings but not in the headset itself
I ran a quick performance test and I have a solid 120fps with 15-20% headroom on Into the Radius. I hope that's enough for the forseeable future, I got a 3060Ti in late 2020. But to be fair I didn't notice I was at 90Hz until I played Thrill of the Fight so I guess 90fps is fine for the majority of games.
>>374304669
The official zombies mode is alright. Not as good as cod's zombies. As far as solo against bots you're in for a tough time with vr shooters. Zero Calibre has some nice campaign stuff but their AI and gun handling is pretty average. Onward has really good AI but the low TTK, lack of game modes, and quested graphics are pain and suffering. Also they managed to fuck up respawning by making you go to a tent each time you die even on respawning modes so it takes a really long time to get back into the action. Contractors has really nice AI, especially on the higher difficulties. AI will flank, switch to side arms, retreat into cover, and support each other. However the gun handling is terrible and their sounds are dogshit too. Generally just not fun to shoot. Game modes are alright but it's all completely let down by the guns just being terrible.
tl;dr: four games ranked by gun play, best to worst:
>Pavlov
>Onward
>Zero Calibre
>Contractors
by AI
>Contractors
>Onward
>Zero Calibre
>Pavlov
by single player game modes:
>Zero Calibre
>Contractors
>Onward
>Pavlov
And if you care about mulitplayer remember Onward is completely overrun with quest squeaker kids, contractors and zero calibre are dead, and pavlov has thousands of custom maps and game modes. Pavlov is by far the best multiplayer vr shooter. Zero Calibre is best as a co-op game so if you have a friend to play it with, grab it. None of the others have a campaign.
>>374316359
Contractors has multiple full lobbies up, even right now actually. But it falls in the same category as Onward where it is just Quest squeaker kids, so it may as well be dead.
>>374316359
>Pavlov>best
Really? It just feels like a slightly worse Counter-Strike regarding gunplay and how it feels. To be fair, I got spoiled by games like H3VR as well as SQUAD, Insurgency, and MW2019.
>>374317028
to be fair thats not a bad thing, its just something we've been doing for over 20 years already and doesnt innovate or iterate on the concept.
>>374317315
I disagree, but Pavlov is really held up by the community which makes you completely forget the gunplay. Same reason why servers for CSS are still up and TF2 as well. Compare TF2 to Overwatch and you'll see a big difference.
>>374317028
>H3VR
Never liked that game's way of handling weapon interactions. The little circles on the controllers were way too small and I always struggled to get them to line up right. Made doing anything fast too much trouble and was fighting the controls more than the enemies. All the autism and customisation was really nice but actually playing a game wasn't.
>>374317868
I thought the hand filtering will fix things, but the tracking still feels like I'm a cripple. It's not surprising considering the dev is a huge fucking autist that can't take criticism.
>>374318181
I'm on vive and it's honestly shocking that the game was originally designed for the vive controllers. I think the dev play exclusively with armswinger movement though.
>>374318671

I think Quest was 90fps headset originally no ? 90 fps is fine as you as you're not playing something fast paced but 120Hz is always nicer.

Hubris looks nice but is kind of mediocre tbqh. I'm hoping that the final game is semi-open ended like Asgard's Wrath or Saints & Sinners as the mechanics are otherwise OK, but the demo was just a linear slice with so-so combat but nice graphics.

A shame MS gives zero fucks about VR still outside of keeping quiet with progress on their HoloLens AR set.
>>374353332
I can't think of AR as anything but a meme. They're going for the normie crowd that goes outside, but do they really think normies will walk around with a VR headset on? I know people joke about them having their phones glued to their faces but actually gluing a phone to their face will not be appealing to a crowd of people who base all of what they do on how other people will perceive them for doing it.
>>374353796
AR would be really fucking cool if you were one of those turbonerds with a full simpit
>>374353796
I look at it more as getting the foundation in place for the eventual tech that allows glasses-sized AR devices to exist (there's prototype lens already), probably operating via wireless tether (aka phone).
At that point (a decade from now at the earliest?), VR would just be AR glasses w/ a blinder put on to block out the real world.
>>374354678
Unrelated question though, does moving while firing in pavlov affect your accuracy/recoil like it does in CS?

>>374413440
The modders have gotten all weapons working at this point, but there are still a couple of things left before the functionality is 1:1 with the desktop version. It'll be real fun to play as you can use a tool in the off hand and a weapon in the main hand to make up for how quick-switching is harder in VR.
>>374393031
I honestly don't mind TAA in a lot of flat games. Deus Ex MD's TAA with sharpening looks just as good as other forms of AA IMO. But in VR it is super noticeable. Skyrim's makes seeing in the distance physically difficult, and Asgard's Wrath's really hurts the imagery as well. If some VR game implements TAA correctly then I haven't seen it yet.
>>374410360
Would you play that on a wheel or using a fake wheel with the VR controllers
>>374415278
A wheel of course. FFB in that game is quite important as opposed to something more easygoing like Euro Truck Simulator.
>>374415993

the emphasis on technique and enjoyable flow was completely tossed aside when they realized that gaming the system with obscenely inhuman flicks made score number go big and the demand for higher and higher difficulty shit kept spiraling out of control
>>374473478
I like games like Synth Riders as you have to actually use your body rather than just wrist flick. It makes the gameplay feel like actual dancing. Beat Saber is too inconsistent in comparison. Ragnarock is good too but it has bad customs as well.

>>374484749
I don't know why the map author simply didn't just boot ghosts off to a duplicate of the map in some other location where they can still clear tasks, given VRC doesn't let you fuck with avatar visibility options in a World still.

Scavenger mod for ITR is pretty interesting. Early game you've got so much shit it's easy as hell. Then you peek into factory and face armoured enemies without any AP or +P. Not being able to get what you need, but still being flush with items, is very different to how ITR usually goes. I've found hit and run tactics surprisingly effective. Getting inside, popping the rift, then running back out to plink at stragglers is the only way I can think of to get through this part. I found a full length wooden PPSh and three drum mags for it but even fully loaded with +P it's a real challenge to drop anything armoured before they return fire. My SKS only has 10 round mags right now so it's not very useful either. Gotta have a really good rummage around and see if I can find a crate of AP ammo and load up whatever weapon shoots it before I try to go back into the factory bombing mission. Ran in and dropped the rift in the locker room but didn't get any kills upstairs. Still a successful visit as the shortcut from Route is more or less clear now.
Last time I did this mission vanilla I did the whole thing with an AK47 and about eight mags of AP ammo.
>>374493698
I intend to make a loot mod when I've finished my current play through.
>>374493698
Is it fun though? Sounds like you are running into enemies that require AP before you've found any AP, which from my experience wasn't a challenge was just fucking tedious, shooting them a zillion times
>>374493698
I didn't even know that there were actual mods for the game. It's for 2.0 only, right?
>>374493698
Does it increase ammo spawns? The game doesn't spawn enough for lategame enemies, particuarly if you intend to use FMJ. Even saving all my Mosin ammo it wasn't enough to push into the greenhouses without buying some AP. The PP-91 feels completely useless past Bolotky unless you use +P.

Yes, significantly. Most crates will have full boxes of ammo, some even have crates. Special ammo types are more common too. I found a (mostly full crate of +P 7.62x25 in a silver crate. You can find all things from the store in the radius as well like armour, gas masks, and attachments that you can't in vanilla. The intention is to play without using the shop. I'm still using the repair box (no upgrades) and shower though I get the feeling the mod creator doesn't want you to repair anything either. I'm guessing with the gravi artefact now built in to the mod, he's going to be replacing stuff that is just vendor trash because money is useless.

Race 19.
19:00 UTC, Monday 7th of March!

Assetto - can be played with wheel, controller, or steam-vr-wheel addon, it doesn't matter, we will all have fun driving together. If you just bought Asseto - grab Assetto Corsa Content Manager - a better launcher: https://assettocorsa.club/content-manager.html and a mod installer (just drag and drop zip files from mega).
For communication we'll use mumble at voice.vrg.party port 64738.

Welp, I guess people just can't make money off of Torrent links. But fuck the times of crappy DDLs. Guess I will check Steam for games and then search for them. Thanks.
>>374550348
I only tried the CV1 at a friends house and he had no problems, but I heard about shitty cables and USB related problems... seller said it's barely used and works good... but that's what every eGay seller says.
>>374620492
>shitty cables
I have a wired headset and I just got one of those things where you stick cable bungee things to your ceiling. Works pretty good, they have enough length that I can even avoid hitting my ceiling fan

You can grope them a bit, but that's pretty much it. The customization is the big part, you can find cards of pretty much any anime girl, dress them up however you want, then watch all the lewd stuff in 1st person.
>>374550170
yes you dont need fb account but you are still sending data to facebook and when you connect quest to pc it also sends data from your pc
>>374540617
there is tutorial on r questpiracy
you will install app that has every quest/pcvr game
you just download it and sideload it, you dont need to use torrents

Keep things you want to use at the front or on the sides of the pack and put anything you will sort out later in a pile at the back.
>>374623512
Ok wow, that's actually really cool and neat, thanks. Just wondering: Is there a way to queue downloads? I can only see the option for Tasks, but that doesn't auto start when the first download is done.
I hate stand alone vr headsets. They're a bane on the genre because all vr games are small and look like shit so they run on their shitty low quality hardware.
>>374644221
I love the Quest 2 because i can play PC VR games wirelessly. Could no care less about the standalone games.
>>374645764
This
Damn I hope that GT7 adds VR support, especially if that support is also on PC.
>>374655905
Not VR related but i can't wait to play Kinoshima again on my PC and do the DLC.

Chug some fresh ginger (boiled raw) tea before hand. You'll get used to it and won't need the tea for future sessions

Dragon's Dogma 2 in VR.
>>374658914
Absolutely could not be done unless the whole game is designed around VR.
>>374659016
I can absolutely dream so absolutely fuck you.
>>374664402
Absolutely booty blasted, YWNGDDVR
>>374658914
Sorcerer spells would probably be one of the easier things to rebuild in a VR game project.
>>374559082
uh
How the fuck is there no VR sequel to Black and White in development? Granted modders would turn the beasts into giant tidy furries with day one.
Anything to give me a taste of VR command and conqour type games? I went for a 13 hour plane ride playing Pikmin3 and now I fucking love Pikmin. Weird mix of comfy but also stressful and I usaully hate multitasking games, but Pikmin 3 has a near perfect balance of quick gameplays with incentive to retry more efficiently. I could really see Pikmin working in VR if adapted right.
>>374671197
maybe if they remade Battlezone 98 with VR
>>374674093
StarWars BattleFront VR when?
>>374534249
Facebook thinking they can colonize the "metaverse" is such a fucking joke. It's all boomers that read SnowCrash and think that's how the metaverse will be. As I recall in the book, I think the main protagonist get confronted by VR read necks in a bar or some badass hawian dude or something. In reality it would be a bunch of flurecent giant tidy anime cat girl bullying him and calling him the Nword. That book is fucking weird but a fun read.
>>374671197
VR RTSs or other god games are sadly undeserved. Townsmen VR comes closest to scratching the itch. I liked the Brass Tactics demo quite a bit as well, but it's a filthy zucc exclusive and there's no working crack for revive. There's also Final Assault, but I still haven't tried it personally.
>>374675620
Probably never because no-one knows how to implement vehicles into FPS properly in VR.
>>374676340
I really think a simple two handle control would work. If you remeber how to old Tyco RC cars would control with two up and down sticks, or like those lawn mowers where you sit in the middle with two big levers instead of a steering wheel. Those speeder bikes from star wars come to mind, but I think you could make that layout work for any sci-fi vehicle. The Echoes VR game imo has the best flight system I've encountered so far. I would imagine that but in a cock pit and you use your hands to position the booster of your vehicle for 3d flight.
I tried No Man's land But fumbling around for a joysticks/switches feels bad to me. I think for vehicles you need to embrace controls built into the players movements. Or go the opposite direction with animalistic mounts that are understandable not a 1to1 control as they are alive, like horse reigns. I think Zelda and Red Dead did a good job of horse not feeling tottaly like a car.
>>374678618
The main problem is transitioning from standing to sitting in real life.
>>374679410
do you not have a chair or stool somewhere in your playspace?
>>374679410
For that I'd say don't for Sci fi. But I see how there's an element of emersion and comfort missing there. I find a lot of games in general are missing a quick and easy to access "recenter/resize" function. In pop one this is really annoying in the menus and in beatsaber they bury it in the menus for some reason.
>>374668554
try reverting CSP to "recomended" - 0.1.60
I've been filtering through a lot of cars, some had similar issue, but these 4 should work fine, at least they work on my machine.
Alright motherfuckers it is that time of the week again! We have finally gotten past the month that was riddled with romance and end of the month fun. This month is going to be a wonderful line up of melanin enriched celebration, saint patties day, cyberposibilities? and what looks like an adventure event. Motivation is the hardest bit of will to cultivate, stay strong on your avatar work everybody.
Zenith stayed true to updating when they said they would and released a patch. This doesn't make it %100 playable however, so it would be best to wait for more, /vrg/ has been roasted a good time or two by promising VR titles that fall into updateless neglect. We'll play some tonight if Elden Ring doesn't just transform /vrg/ into /dsg/ another night.
Dm the shop man if you need to remember to backup your post when you write them so you don't have to retype them.
Bread
Some anon on here reccomeded a game on here they said was kind of like resident evil with some call cthulu type vibes, title something like "The Deep" or something. Anyone know what I'm talking about?
