I've never used Oculess, but as far as I know, it's still your only option right now for using a Quest 2 with no Facebook account.
If by V2 you mean the G2, the problem is still the tracking, which is usable, but supposedly worse than a Rift S. I wouldn't recommend WMR tracking for VRFPS if you have other options though. The AMD problems I'd heard about were just some anon with a 6900XT and G2 complaining about low framerates in some games, I remember him popping up a couple times to complain about it, but might've just been something else weird with his build.
Third party controllers would mean using ones meant for some other headset, and for now, your only option is to get lighthouses and use Vive/Index controllers, which on top of a G2 is going to get you closer to Index prices.

The V2 supposedly has better tracking range, but other than that it's similar. I don't know if the tracking software has gotten much better or not.
You still have to use the WMR software to run it, there's no way around that. The new updates just let you automatically launch into SteamVR when that starts.

I've never had problems with the G2 with my AMD GPU. I think that the old version with the old cable had problems with AMD CPUs, but that is fixed with the new revision. If you have the old version customer support will send you a new cable for free anyways, which is why I have two cables.

I've had a couple problems with cutting off circulation with my controllers and trackers, then falling asleep in VR. The entirety of my circulation doesn't get cut off, but the pressure on my hands or feet definitely constrict blood flow to some extent.

First time I had this issue, I fell asleep in VR, I woke up and my hand had a bit of a numb feeling. Not completely, but the way I slept on it reduced circulation to parts of my hand. I could feel a stinging when I applied pressure to my hand which has since gone away.

The second time was yesterday. My foot strap was on a little tight, even though I did put it on somewhat loose, and I removed it several hours later. I checked and it felt strange, even though I could still feel it and move it just fine. I massaged the foot to help it, and ever since it has a weird sensation, similar to how your foot feels when you have the "pins and needles" feeling and sensation returns. Except, this is somewhat of a constant feeling.

Anyone know how serious this sort of thing is? I figure it's not really the same as bruising, but you could be harming tissue by applying to much pressure. I'm surprised, because I've had tight shoes that never caused this sort of problem.

It's a little bit dangerous for long periods (like hours) so best not to let that happen while you're asleep. That pain you're feeling is hypoxia - part of your flesh dying from lack of oxygen from the low blood flow. Bruising is where the blood vessels break open and bleed under the skin, pins and needles are the nerves stretching and misfiring.
I would recommend loosening off your straps if you feel tired in vr. You probably won't be moving around lots when you're tired so they aren't at risk of flying off when you're like that anyway.

Don't lose heart after a couple of attempts, or worse after a couple of non-attempts. Taking the first step can be hard but a little bit of alcohol to loosen yourself up and feel a little bit numb helps. Just be careful not to become dependent on it to socialise or take too much and become sloppy.

What you downloaded are raw files, not just the avatar. They'll have .psd files so you can edit the textures and probably some extra .fbx or .blend files for mesh editing.

i think vrchat is probably the best place you can find to learn 3d modeling, except it's a bit too focused on the anime aesthetic to be good for everything. Worthy successor to the mmd community though.

Is there a better way to explore worlds? Having to sit and scroll by a billion home worlds and The Box re-uploads gets tiring and boring. Not to mention the fact that you can't scroll endlessly in any category, once you reach the end that's it.
