It's fun but very much made for VRlets.
It's also quite "fake" and on-rails, the game micromanages and dripfeeds the amount of ammo you get to an absurd degree to enforce that feeling of ammo scarcity. Ammo drops will be modified to whatever ammo you need the most (or even be removed altogether if you're at half capacity). Enemies are programmed to die in 1 hit if you're on your last bullet and become less aggressive when you're out.

If a bunch of people use something like bunny.net. Its cheap for a few files but expensive long term/with a bunch of files. You also need to have decent home net to get the files onto the CDN in the first place (your home net doesn't matter after)

If you want to set it up yourself get a VPS and host files there. You'll need to know how to set up ngnix and serve files from your server but its worth it in the long term for the skills you'll learn. Ask around in #hardware in vrg there are a few who've set it up and can walk you through it also there are a few people you can just ask to host stuff for you. Brown S usually gets stuff up fast.

If you have phones or anything with an IMU that connects via Bluetooth or wifi, slimevr is easy to get into and works decently well. A good dedicated tracker would be good for about 30 minutes without resetting (which is a push of a button with bindings), but phones + other crap would need to be reset every few minutes or so.

I've used 5 phones this entire time, if you like to cuddle it's perfect, as you can slip under a blanket and still be tracked.

this does pretty much what I envisioned, although I wasn't sure how to use the gradient tool along a curve so I just went over the edges with an eraser (had the main color overlap underneath all others)
One major issue I had was that I couldn't overlap my layers initially because with multiply on for the shading the overlapping bits were also affecting each other
The solution was to set all my color layers back to Normal mode, group them into a Layer Group, and set the group itself to Multiply mode

I just learned you can choose to copy over one layer's weights at a time using Data Transfer modifier, but it's kind of a chore and you need to actually expend and apply a lot of separate modifiers, one per vertex group.

I was able to use this to salvage a skirt from a model and keep the bones for physbones rather than be lazy and remove the entire thing.

anon who is tinkering with the idea of throwing together gacha-theme events, what are some ways to make this idea fun and not fall into some of the pitfalls some events have?
I remember how with the bird event back in May there weren't that many people who did it since it heavily relied on the user to know how to use blender. I'd like to avoid that but still allow for some creativity. Maybe some basic hand-me-outs and how-to-dos would circumvent this?
I'd also like to avoid centering around specific individuals or have it be only just a regular meet but with costume party flare and a photoshoot. I think the best way to circumvent this would to have the map centered around a map that brings-something-to-the-table but I am no unity wizard though I am learning.
