We had investorbux. We had a community support. We had everything we needed, and it all ran like clockwork. You could've shut your mouth, pretended to work and made as much money as you ever needed. It was perfect. But, no, you just had to blow it up. You and your ARROGANCE and your EGO. You just had to "save the game" from modders. Some leakers have suggested that the real cost of Quest 2 is $500 so it makes sense that at some point they might have to cave on the MSRP if they were forced to, which they might be depending on shareholders. Plus it might play into their strategy with Cambria and Quest 3 anyway so might as well get it over with.
>>393446762
I got more of a "something should be done about mods, but this is just not the right move" vibe from it
>>393446447
>Yeah, it's not like Meta is really hurting for money or anything
Haven't they lost actual billions on VR so far? They're rich as fuck so they can take it yeah, but investors probably aren't exactly happy about seeing billions of dollars lost every year.

and ofc you can live edit it in vr which can be both a blessing and a curse
>>393447290
>Quest 3 won't release anytime soon
I mean if it was then they wouldn't increase the price at this moment. It's more to slowly change the price expectations and perception people have for VR. Meta's original pricing strategy was always hugely risky and unsustainable if things didn't go perfectly. Things did not go perfectly.
>>393447098

To be fair, if being an influencer was my job and I was in his position, I'd treat it like a job too, I.E. "Just shut the fuck up about what I actually think and do the thing that would lose me the least contacts and get me the most money".
Luckily, I would never pursue being an influencer as a career path where I would have to do this because I would literally rather go back to working at a convenience store than having to put out regular videos where I dickride sponsors.
>>393447617
the only truly scary thing in Neos is the awkward UI.
You can tell they didn't have an UI/UX designer on board. It is basically coder making UI for other coder. Once you get the very basics it gets easier, but I agree with you that the learning curve is somewhat steep because of that atrocious UI

True, but sometimes those same people have to do raid shadow legends advertisements just to pay the bills, and I'll bet those same people would rightfully never touch that game in a million years, raid's basically youtuber welfare cause youtube's sure as shit aint paying their creators properly.
>Once people doubt they can trust a reviewer, they're seen always as bought, no matter how honest they are after that.
That's going to happen no matter what, I've been called a shill for liking VR at all in the past even though my love for the medium is genuine.
>>393448032

>>393448131

>>393447809
Makes sense I guess, but that strategy did work as far as market share goes. I just don't think they have a good plan for what to do next. I don't see price increases helping either when you've already sold plenty of hardware and you're losing part of your appeal. It's not like we're talking about small losses here.
>>393448131
I've always been curious about neos since it kinda tries to be it's own thing
So what I'm seeing is that there's 500 alternatives that people who don't like eac spread out to when they should gather on a single one.
>>393448442
It's not K, that avatar is public.
>>393448849
>500 alternatives
more like 2, one for autist programmer furries (Neos) and the other for just autists (ChilloutVR)
>>393448131
If you think VRChat performance and QoL is bad, Neos isn't even an option. Chillout was a mess last time I tried it too, but it's at least more straightforward to port over VRChat content. Unless it's improved significantly since then though, I don't really see it being a good alternative either.
>>393448849
There are literally two, and from what I understand one is trying to be VRChat (CVR) while the other is kind of doing its own thing with its own features (Neos)
>>393449091
>more straightforward to port over VRChat content

Even if everyone does eventually run back on to VRChat, this should at least be a good morale boost for the CVR and Neos devs to keep working on their game.
Competition is good instead of one game with a shitty dev team that has a monopoly over the genre. I really don't want VRChat dominating for the next 10 years with zero acceptable alternatives.

reposting
Hello trannies,
With Tupper officially dabbing on everyone, it seems particularly foolish to continue the on week/off week NA Pavlov pattern we've had the last few months. As a result, Pavlov will be played this Friday at midnight EST (Note: 1hr earlier than usual) with an alternate maplist: SND will be on the backburner (but still substantial, albeit on more esoteric maps) with other gamemodes making up the majority of the selection. With people likely continuing their righteous crusade unless VRC backpedals, we should have a solid turnout and it should be a good time.
Naturally, be drunk, its Friday night Pavlov.
Current gamemodes are, in order of magnitude: 7 SnD, 3 Push, 3 prophunt, 1 CTF, 2 infection, 1 TDM, 2 gungame, 1 one in the chamber, 2 king of the hill, 1 clone of SCP:Secret Lab, and 1 Halo custom game Duck Hunt
Note: No Hidden, No TTT: I'll gauge interest but if there's enough, a second Pavlov lobby will get hosted the following Saturday with a smaller group that'll introduce those gamemodes, as they're relatively controversial and it only takes one or two bitchy faggots to ruin the entire lobby.
heard your tranny "game" will be taken out behind the barn so I came here to laugh at you

someone on Kijiji(craigslist) offered to trade me his rift cv1 for my headset and stand im selling priced at 110CAD. is it worth getting? I have a beefy PC. and do I need to use the external sensors at all times? even if im just using the headset on my chair? i imagine id get tired real fast setting it up. wasnt really too interested in VR but I thought it would be a cool toy to use if I can get it at a good trade

Just so it's easy to port them to any arbitrary unity based metaverse
It's really illuminating to see that the metaverse as it is right now is not any single game. It's the multi-player sandbox known as Unity

Works fairly well. Just make sure to remove underscores and spaces from the variable names in your Animator and AvatarParameters settings before converting else your toggles won't work.
>>393456642
My plan to be able to organize my folder is to export the avatars and their scene file first into their respective unity package with all the dependencies they need.
This will allow you to have all the necessary stuff to then shuffle into a nice folder later in a new project.
I'll make a video on how to do this process later for everyone.
IMPORTANT: BACK UP YOUR PROJECT!
>>393456345
It won't stop ripping since that's more of an API issue. The only reasons I can think of is:
1. Preparation for a buy-out
2. Launch of an in-game economy
2. Make the game marketable in China
4. Pressured by Meta to keep it on their storefront, and potentially Sony for a Playstation port
>>393456345
>>393456730
yup, it's to stop people from using mods
It's hard for them to monetize features if they don't kill mods now. Here's an example - they're selling avatar favorites slots in vrc+, but there are mods that do that too, for free. Some of their investors are highly interested in virtual currency and would like to use vrc as a platform to expand on that.
If they want to expand monetization, they need to kill mods. They've really let the problem grow too much already, the backlash would not be as widespread as it is now if they'd killed it months ago.
why don't I see more vidya furry waifus it's all the same oc shit

*It was revealed to me in a dream.
But seriously though they can't keep on living off investors forever. At some point, the house of cards has to fall.
VRChat 2022.2.2 [1213] is now Live and includes our implementation of Easy Anti-Cheat (EAC) as well as Secure Instances.
Blog: https://hello.vrchat.com/blog/vrchat-security-update
The blog post has been updated with the above information.
This release is now live for all platforms.
This release is not network-compatible. You will not be able to join people that have not updated yet.

>blah blah blah we heard you but we don't care, here's the update :^)
Trannies on suicide watch lmao
>Addressing these concerns and feedback is our highest priority. We are changing our internal development roadmap and priorities to focus on the features and additions that you want. Currently ongoing projects are being paused, rescheduled, or re-prioritized, and resources are being re-allocated to account for this change.
tldr: nothing will get done or added for 3 more years

It can only be really killed if there is an alternative that can reasonably compete.
Will investigate CVR on how far they have gone and check if they have an UDON like system for world dev and an easy way to port avatars
>>393457448
"we're not removing EAC and also we're putting the features we announcced a year ago on the backburner"
you lost skiddy chuds. kneel
Hello everyone. Since the announcement yesterday, we've gotten a LOT of feedback from all of you regarding the incoming 2022.2.2 VRChat update that integrates Easy Anti-Cheat.
We are going to ignore all of it. Thank you.
- The VRChat Team
>>393424314 (Cross-thread)
thank you all for coming!!
see those who can make it next week for whatever!!
>Survived all of vrchat's life without becoming gay or having gay sex
EAC isn't even to deal with malicious mods, this update is solely to fuck with FavCat Restored.

#1 victory royale
>>393457448
how many disabled war veterans must die on tuppers watch??
So many furries saying they're moving to neos. you cant convince me this is a bad update now
why does VRChat need easy anti cheat? Can't you download an avatar that just fucks with people anyway? How does that change this?
I have successfully extended my NEET certification for 2 months.
>>393459398
You can bypass all the avatars that fuck with people by using the safety settings in-game
>>393459398
>why does VRChat need easy anti cheat?
It doesn't
>Can't you download an avatar that just fucks with people anyway?
Yes
>How does that change this?
It doesn't
>>393459489
lets freaking GO
>>393459568
>loads avatar in to check attributes
>then decides to hide it
cool system
>>393459398
It doesn't. It's to make their investors happy by making them think that they are patching exploits.
I made my own pizza today
>>393459207
Actually hilarious how many mutes claim that they're disabled and NEED to use mods or else the mod team is literally killing them.
>>393459810

>>393459869
I hate this gay twitter shit so bad but VRchat is one of the only things I like doing right now so I don't want to see it die.

For the people who keep wondering why the non-malicious QoL mod creators don't just bypass EAC, here's an explanation from one of the creators of the most popular all-in-one QoL mod
>>393462280
Good for them, don't give it attention by not playing it.
I'm hoping some of these modding communities go black-hat.
will people get mad at me for logging into vrchat?
>>393462280
What's the tl;dr?
>>393462772
I'm angry at you for just thinking about it
>>393461656
A lot of people are trying to find out how to uninstall mods or get a workaround on their paid client right now
>>393462772
If they do they were never your friend to begin with
>>393462836
>So, where do we go from here? Honestly, we're not sure. We wanted to wait until the decision was final to make any plans, and now that the situation is not in our favor, we'll have to figure something out. I can't say for sure if we'll attempt to bypass EAC or not. We'll have to look in to these changes and determine what we want to do. However even if we do manage to bypass it and everything returns to normal, the troubles don't end there. VRChat will likely continue to stop us, so we'll figure out a solution, and that cat and mouse game will continue for who knows how long. While we all care deeply for the community and love this platform, at some point we have to ask ourselves "why are we putting up with this abusive relationship?" At the end of the day, modding is a hobby that we do in our free time. But when a hobby is no longer fun or enjoyable, you move on to the next thing. We just have to decide if we want to keep going. We'll consider how we want to move forward, and inform the community of our decision later.

how's that corporate cock taste? Even disregarding mods EAC is a piece of shit garbage anti-cheat across nearly every game it's used in
>>393463237
No, there's no world like that in CVR yet, but CVR does have a good video player with playlist feature. The cvr api is currently going up and down right now as users move over, so most will probably be playing vrchat for two more weeks.
>>393463643
Checked out some asian community and you are just wrong.
newfag here, how easy is to get into chilloutvr? Is it like VRchat with cliques and people looking in mirrors or is it actually a good hangout and meet new people game?

>>393464529
Their system is like avatars 3.0 AND avatars 2.0 combined. You can do everything in the animator, but it also ha easy to use override slots, where you can drag and drop your emote animations, and also, easy shortcuts to make toggles, recolors and stuff like that.

he's apparently been keeping furry autist programmers in the basement and paying them in food or something
the furry devs escaped late last year and there's a legal fight
the current build of the game has crypto disabled
this is my vague understanding anyway
>>393466648

>>393466823
obviously he didn't lock a bunch of furry programmers in his basement before they escaped and hired saul goodman or some shit, but now that I've heard this story I'd like to imagine that's exactly the way it happened
>>393466089
yeah that's just how neos looks
I don't have the mental fortitude/handicap to play it more than an hour even after knowing how all the menus work
Unless there's a large scale organised effort to get people to port maps and avatars to other platforms AND remove them from VRChat then nothing will happen. People will come crawling back within days. VRC has the content, features and players, nothing will change.
>>393466823

>>393467696
Don't worry, VRchat devs will do that themselves. Their job openings are asking for NFTs and are looking to sanitize the game even more. Get ready for a mass purge in the near future. This is just step 1 with removing mods
why not give altspace a try?
>>393467825
>>393467512
Exactly. We'll be here. VRchat is just a single game. And we're not about to just lay there suck their cock and take it up the ass.
>>393456997
The quest version doesn't have EAC nor is the client even obfuscated (unlike PC)
>>393467993
Oh yeah I'm with you. This is step one. First they crack down on mods, then they'll crack down on lewd content, then they crack down on movie hosting worlds, then they crack down on copyrighted assets such as game rips
>>393451923
VRC is like bitcoin, it's in the top of normies head when they think of VR platform to fuck around. Nothing is gonna replace it even if there is better alternatives
>>393467696
Some modding communities have been telling people to go upload worlds and avatars publicly to CVR and Neos, even if they still plan on continuing to play VRChat. Not so sure those people will listen though.

vrc is still a bit better than the alternatives. That said, this is the first step on vrc's march towards heavy monetization and it won't be the last time people are frustrated with the game.
As vrc continues to flounder in the name of pleasing the investors and (hopefully) its competitors improve their games, the chances that there comes a day that people migrate to another game does increase. You should be ready for that.
The community won't disappear overnight though so you don't need to worry about that.

shut it, tranny. No one on VRG gives a shit about your stupid hacks.
>>393476362
The point of them adding EAC wasn't really to target hackers and rippers. They'll bypass it or generally be unaffected anyway.
It's to stop regular users from modding in quality of life functions that can be monetized by vrchat directly. The majority of these people will not go to the trouble of bypassing EAC, either because of their general incompetence or their fear of being banned.
It's really a smart move, I think in the long run it could possibly work out for them. They just need to wait until this is -fully- blown over to start selling portable mirror functions for money.

More users == more business case when you present to the investors.
Let's look at the most recent example. Take a look at Blizzard and how they defined success. MAUs, meaning how many people are logged into their service. They defined the MAU as the number of users logged into their service or account, and even going as far to define each game as a different MAU. So if you were logged into two different games for the week as a single user, you counted as two different MAU. Is that number meaningless? Yes, but not to investors. The investors see X million MAUs and think "oh hey, we're doing well" while the games that's being churned out is hot garbage and actual player engagement is dropping.
When investors look at products, they don't look at things like how much a community is engaged with developers or how well the developers listen to feedback. They look at cold, hard numbers. How many players are logged into the game is one of them. I just find it extremely funny that people who cried foul when they announced EAC just log right back in not even 5 minutes after the update's dropped.
>bu...but we left a negative review on steam guiz! i can still play the game guiz!
Even the recent review bombing can be explained favorably to investors. They can say "we introduced an anti-cheat system and all the cheaters review bombed the product" and then they can come right back and show how the player count didn't drop at all even after the update. This actually makes the game even better, since all the cheaters are now gone!
Considering that VRC is actually a social game, with the main focus in social interaction, you can say user engagement is the ONLY metric that matters, and you're padding it.
tl;dr You are giving VRC more clout.
>>393480363
>Why do big investors invest in vrchat and not its competitors?
Because they realize VR is a real thing but also realize Meta is a piece of shit.
>It's the much larger userbase. In that sense, the users are the product.
Ok but no one has told me what we produce? Our existence? If that's the case, this move for EAC is a terrible idea because it rocks the boat.
If the game did fall into exploit territory, and we were the product, why they fuck would they care? We still play the game.
There's something else going on that we're not seeing behind the scenes for this to make sense if we're the product.

This still doesn't answer at all where EAC comes into play.
Is their goal to prod the userbase while also reporting stellar numbers to investors? that doesn't add up. It's a shadowy conspiracy done seemingly because Tupper enjoys human suffering and not because any real gain is being had.
If their goal is to just harvest as many people as possible for engagement; why rock the boat?

Sure, you can argue they're selling user data NOW
But there's no proof they were set up or even made to take advantage of this before this transition. If the idea is to start sucking up user credentials and credit card numbers; they would get caught pretty quickly with how many people are now examining it.
Also making even less sense about this shadowy scheme: If anyone really, really, really wanted to fuck VRChat over, the would join any public world and record the ERP session for ten minutes and say "My Lil' Brother was hit on in the virtual game!!!"
It actually makes no sense why the devs are going to war with the userbase when VRCs current existence hinges on a prisoner's dilemma with the devs and the userbase against the mainstream media who would love nothing more than a hook to report VR as evil.

Do you know what it's like to have a chinese botnet anti-cheat system eating away at your CPU?
>>393480892
because they know there is nowhere to go but stay on the boat. they can afford to lose some players.
Consider, all the big content creators are on board. And they are what drives the game. they make their income off of this game, so they will bootlick anything the dev team says as long as it doesnt step on their patreonbux.
if those content creators were upset at this, you better believe they wouldve put the brakes on. But instead they are treated favorably and become "friends" with the devs.
think about it. Blue gets a ton of dosh from patrons for b club.
so tda thots and furries can plaster their mugs all over the map and get their names on a special list. those same users will pay for vrc+.
most people in vrc are normies who dont pay attention to mods or often even content creation. they just consume, and spend money. They will buy the tda edit/sparkeldog furry. they will pay vrc+. and they will pay the map patreon. which promotes the mapmaker to keep making content for vrchat, which keeps people coming back.
>>393481067
thats why the leap. why use eac if it's shit and does nothing but introduce it's own problems and piss off the userbase, while doing little for hacking and ripping?
Only answer is the usual answer, which is "monetization/image reasons" and for vrc, until they start selling more than just vrc+, monetization means investor funding and investors want things, and want to *see* things. its why we got quest support, and the halfassed implementation of vrc quest edition.
certain kinds of investors want to see a company that is willing to dig their heels in the sand and push unpopular updates they deem "necessary", because then other "updates" and initiatives could easily be pushed if they can survive as big a shitstorm as this one.

>>393480680
Why do big investors keep investing in vrchat?
I do think they haven't quite figured out how to turn users into money quite yet. VRC seems to be operated like a startup that isn't profitable yet.
I do think they view EAC as an important step on the road to profitability. Modding was too widely accepted and it was too easy an avenue for people to bypass their monetization because people could create mods to do the things that vrchat eventually intends to sell. This actually already happens, there are mods to increase the number of favorite avatars you can have stored - this is one of the few features you actually currently get for vrc+
But at the moment, the users ARE the product. The investors are attracted by the user base. They're trying to figure out how to mine the money out of the userbase. Why do you think vrchat has a job posting for a virtual currency specialist posted on their website?

Lmao. You're naïve and probably underaged if you don't remember this being a trend for every social media platform
Put in measures for 'our protection' -> it's used for other measures than our protection -> It's used for copyright, corporate protection measures, enforcement of content policy -> bot police state.
Arguable, VRC hasn't even hit step 1 of this. Which would be automated tracking of hate speech.

I think, i twas like 2 years ago. Physbones needs converting but there's a tool for that now, but generally it's the same process as vrc.

Okay so anyone who has launched VRChat and installed EAC. Please do me a favor: I'm trying to make a batch file that removes it the second VRChat closes.
please go to C:\Users\Your Username\AppData\Roaming\EasyAntiCheat, open service.log, and if you could, post the string that it installs for a 'product'. I want to see if it's unique or not. It should look like:
[EAC Setup] [5138] [22:31:52:447] [Info] Started with 'install (string of numbers and letters)'.
AFAIK you can remove it with simply supplying the easy anti cheat program located in your steam folder with 'uninstall (that same string)' and it should clean up the driver, the processes, and the system file.
Then the log should have this:
[EAC Setup] [10250] [00:36:18:080] [Info] Started with 'uninstall (same string)'.
[EAC Setup] [10250] [00:36:18:080] [Info] Argument handling done, requested action: 2.
[EAC Setup] [10250] [00:36:18:092] [Info] Operation 2 completed successfully.
This version has no GUI so you can't launch and uninstall it like you normally would in other games.
>>393485693
tl;dr I'm tryign to see if the product ID (that string of numbers and letters) will change. If it won't then it's as simple as making a shortcut on my desktop, but I can only know that if other people have the same product ID I do.

I've seen some of the bigger ones toeing the line due to dev connections.
Most of them seem to just be staying quiet though. It's not really in the cards for them to boycott VRC or anything if they don't have alternate content and Neos/CVR haven't properly taken off yet. Sucking dev dick is pretty pointless if the devs aren't asking for a favor too, since it'll just piss off a portion of their audience.
I only saw one streamer that I know taking an active public stance against it, but they use mods pretty heavily to the point where it probably interferes with their streams to a degree.
There are big youtubers (Like 3M+ subs) starting to make videos on it. I saw a recommendation on Youtube's front page on it.
It'll be the next big backlash real soon.
>>393488217
I get crashed roughly once per session (I only play on the weekends, but I do spend time in publics). I'm reluctant to call it griefing because it's not targeted harassment, more of a harassment shotgun. I've only once ever been crashed in an event (inv+) instance in over 2000 hours playing.
Backlash or not, people are still gonna go back to VRC because of two main things:
- It's where their friends are
- It's still a better platform even without mods
However, everyone who is away for a bit should hopefully make CVR content and experience the platform, making switches easier and quicker next time VRC does something. The only thing stopping them from immediately turning around and selling mod features back to users is that they're retardedly slow devs.

this is a cold calculated business decision. lose some users now, but have a locked down platform they can shill to investors. there hasn't been any passion in vrc since 2019. when it established itself as top dog, and as a gravy train for it's devs. if they ever cared at all.
you think they care about bad press? it will last until the next big news item. they are looking longer term. way longer term. the potential investment in the platform is more than worth the goodwill and playercount hit of a chunk of users who they are better off without anyway, seeing as they are too strong willed and not easily herded.
No, they want the sheep. the ones who blanketly believe anything the dev team says, and only care about the patreons they donate to.

>>393495223
yes never, ever click those sticks. Your controllers will get wrecked. Worst case, don't play the game.
>>393495223
>i remember reading a while back that they are to be avoided at all costs,
This was a meme, thumbstick clicking never degraded a controller. It got conflated with an issue on early index controllers where the thumbstick click didn't work if the thumbstick was tilted.
So now that the vrfest and psvr2 news has passed can I finally decide on what VRheadset to buy?
>>393495505
To add: It turned into folklore and now people avoid clicking the sticks for no reason. My experience: I play pavlov a lot. It's the LEFT stick that goes first, and that was never clicked.
Sticks go when they get used. Either never use them or have them degrade, it's basically that.
>>393495483
HOLY
I WILL PAYPIG THEM IF THAT'S TRUE
>>393495608

>>393495608

>>393495505
that is a lie, index controllers have very cheap plastic parts for the stick mechanics. If you keep clicking you wear them out and the stick will keep getting stuck and the controller starts drifting. You can buy replacement parts and fix it again, but good luck desoldering the old mechanic.
That is what you will need to do, you can also see the stupid plastic part they are using:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oDngL_xFFyQ
>>393495608
I will paypig CVR if they show me they can get their servers under control.
That is the first thing they have to do anyways and it is the most basic concept for a social game like this: Servers do not shit the bed anymore.
If they can do that, I can trust them that they will do other stuff in the future, with my money, as well.
I give them till the weekend.

>>393495840
I'm going to do the same. I just managed to create an account and verify it after trying for some hours. It was my second try as the first account went missing (with my username).
I read they were about to implement a scalable server solution on early august, but this caught them by surprise...
>>393495774
I have gone through 4 pairs of controllers and have desoldered my thumbsticks twice. The left thumbstick goes first because it is used more. the wear pattern is it drifts up with loss of up/down motion because it is used for forwards and backwards movements within games.
The right stick is used for clicking the weapon wheel 3-5 times an snd round and the wear/drift pattern is left/right because that stick is used for left to right motion. But because left and right are used less than forward and back (because I turn IRL) the controller wears much slower.
Clicks do not cause appreciable wear, but I'd still not bind it to jump in VRC
>>393495685
actual screenshot, because I am retarded.
Heavily out of date, but yes
>>393496037
>but this caught them by surprise...
I can absolutely believe them!
This will be the test for them to see how well they can react to pressing matters. Very intrigued to see how fast they can handle it.
Yesterday 1000 people were logged in the game, with an unknown amount of people trying to make an account.
>>393496119
what you say makes sense, but the clicking can't be good either. It's just a matter of time until it gets stuck and doesn't come up again, unless you pull it. You might not even really notice it, because you can still click it. But it messes with the finger tracking, so the controller thinks your thumb is always on the stick (and shows thumb down). This is a huge problem in VRC because of how the facial expressions are bound to the finger tracking.
I doubt that is something that comes from movement. But I guess I agree that overall the controllers just wear out way too quickly.
>>393496608
I did not click my left stick more than ten times in 5 months and it still wore faster. Probably less than 5 times. Right stick? More like 1000 times.

That post, and this whole EAC thing, are the first step in implementing the player economy. It's why the map creators who make a living off Patreon and Booth are all for it - the client needs to be secured from tampering first so that it can have a native economy and in-game currency.

What changed
>>393502453
Using butt plug may not be gay, but the people using it happen to be gay.

If thrill makes a video about ChilloutVR and presents it as an actual alternative we might get good shit about to ignite.

This is what happens when you have no competition to step on your toes and your playerbase has nowhere else to go
well, i guess if nobody is left playing your game, you succeeded in rooting out all the cheaters
nice job vrc team
>>393495840
They certainly seem to be trying. Their discord is filled with tons of announcements about it. This is the latest one from around 5 hours ago.

:D
>>393503720
Yeah I know. I have high hopes they have things sorted out until the weekend.
Mor people playing CVR means more content there and more tutorials.
CVR is in desperate need of "pretty" worlds. The ones that are there right now are rather barebones.
Apologize to Maebbie now
>>393497960
What's your original?
>>393503831
Maebbie I will, maebbie I won't.
But I probably won't. That guy was like a car salesman of shilling.

CVR = CUNNY VR
The more I've been thinking about the situation or discussing it, even if I don't use mods and I won't be directly affected by the change, it makes me a bit uneasy.
I don't believe migrating to CVR or Neos is a good alternative either, because the core issue still remains with these platforms.
The biggest problem in my opinion is that here we have content (vrchat worlds, avatars, ...) that are being accessed through a client (the vrchat application), however the content is dependent on the client and said client will change in a way you might dislike, preventing you to access the content.
Thing is, why can't I host the content outside of vrchat's (or cvr, or neos) servers? Why do I need a specific client to access it when in reality it's just unity scenes? I don't need to use a specific browser to visit a specific website.
I feel like what social vr need is to define networking protocols for interactive online 3D applications and have different clients compatible with that. Will see if that feeling disappear over time or not, but if not I kind of feel like prototyping something

>CVR is in desperate need of "pretty" worlds. The ones that are there right now are rather barebones
I was reading someone talking about CVR maps and they said:
>Movie worlds aren't going to be allowed, they're very very particular about what they approve as a world. Anything ripped or a possible liability from an IP standpoint gets rejected. There is no "cvr labs", you'll want your world absolutely perfect and scrubbed of anything possibly ripped before you submit it for publication. My buddy who's friends with the lead developer was with him when he was approving/rejecting worlds.. a world got rejected because the trees looked familiar, so must've been ripped from somewhere. Another world got rejected because the bottom step on a staircase was too big to step on without jumping. They're very picky, which imo isn't a great indicator of a free wielding ecosystem.

please turn off cern
>>393501582
i wish the high price luxury part included more than just the initial price of purchase, the hidden costs part really fucks with me mentally
>>393504342
I mean, they could be picky in the past with 10-20 users. I wonder if they still continue like this with the new influx of people.
With avatars right now you have to check a box claiming that you have the right to upload this thing. Doesn't that protect them already?

those stupid stupid fucks!
They are going to get ONE... literally ONE chance at this.. vrchat is not gonna fuck up like this for some time.
they will get one user spike and thats it, if their servers don't work.. it's gone, no second chances
they should forgo sleep and work nonstop all week
Please don't make the new thread a fucking furry thread
>>393505267
same
>>393504342
welp if thats true their game is dead already
>>393504342
Yeah no, CVR sounds like a disaster. The whole appeal of VRChat WAS the fact that you got to see so many amateur worlds and that anyone can make anything with next to no restrictions. It's like peering into the creator's soul.

IIRC I had a blast with iktweaks when its new. you just want to turn your max rotation stuff super low
And if you have weird neck issues you probably need to turn off straighten neck/spine
Although I haven't tried out CVR yet so I don't even know if they let you adjust those settings
