I'll give them credit. It's clever, and avoids a radial/pop-out menu.

it is. I like the body remapping they talked too, where they warp your controller tracking near your physics body so your virtual hands line up with your virtual body.

trailer
They shot their own fingers but otherwise very cool
>>401184924
Probably the only thing Hard Bullet does right is the ability to shoot your own hands.
>>401184398
I have been thinking about something exactly like this system for so long, with the warping and all, I'm so glad it's finally been done and shown as possible and I hope other VR devs follow suit. This could open so many doors.
>>401185446
>I have been thinking about something exactly like this system for so long
you and me both. I wonder how their system handles cases where you need your virtual hands to match up with your real hands relative to your eyes rather than your body, i.e. objects you're holding. Like working a bolt-action close to your cheek or pulling the pin on a grenade. I guess they could do some context-dependent body remapping, where if it thinks you're trying to touch your body/stuff on your body it maps to the avatar, otherwise it uses the real position of your controllers.
>>401186398
6dof inputs are probably scaled based on where-about they are held.

>It's always so annoying to see players slam guns onto magazines and not the other way around. Where did this stupid habit come from? Pavlov?
It's a consequence of the wiggly physics that comes from artificial weight on what you're holding. It's hard to keep the gun steady and still while you're holding it in one hand and trying to slap a mag into it but it's not so hard to direct it when you're using its momentum to send it into a target.
Also extremely important announcement to all vrgers looking to put their own avatar into bonelabs:
Your avatar's stats will be generated off your avatar's shape. This includes strength and speed. In bonelabs there will be heavy weights to lift and move. We will now have CONCRETE PROOF of who does and doesn't lift. You have 6 days to become a tomboy.
If Bonelab is crossbuy I might just grab it on the Oculus store instead of Steam.
>>401188719
I posted a few years ago, a solution to the custom avatar problem in VRFPS by giving different stats based on avatar dimensions to prevent smaller avatars being an outright advantage.
>>401189818
cuck
>>401189818
It will be crossbuy
Should I get Tales of Glory 2?
>>401188719
pavlov doesn't have weapon momentum, though i don't see it happening there that often during actual game, more during round start or when people goof around for fun
>>401183918 (OP)
how much do you think bonelab is gonna cost?
is it gonna be cope because it was built for quest 2?
>>401201881
probably $40, maybe $60 if they get cocky
even alyx was $40 at release though
>>401201881
Safe bet would be $40 given their 'tech demo' Boneworks was $30, assuming the campaign isn't as short. Plus they can milk more since it's a VR game drought and it's releasing for Questlets too.
>no dismemberment
Fucking why. We finally get shotguns but somehow they can't make the random enemies who can only flail arms at you fun to fight?
>>401205435
Quest 2 limitations, plz understand. Watch this game also still not have save-anywhere support.
>>401205435
They've always been against gore. Pretty sure they don't allow any gore mods for boneworks
>>401189891
>buying a game once and getting it on both platforms is cuckoldry
Not him but in the same boat. Wouldn't buying it on steam be cucking to Valve? Since you're losing value but paying the same price just to support a giant company
>have a 30% off code for any Oculus store game
>it expires the same day Bonelabs comes out
This was planned surely.
i feel like im already getting bored with the volvo
the hardware is so nice, the software is almost so nice, but i think i wish i needed to use it for something else that only games.
>have to remodel small room to have a bit more space
>still hit things around the free space, have to always think of surroundings and peek at floor through nose hole
>visual issues which im not sure if are fixable by getting glasses or according lenses for the goggles
>vrcompositor crahsing sometimes and or freezing entire pc
>many second tier features unsupported by steamvr on linux
>can't use headset comfortably on chair with headrest
though i have to say, i spent like 30 minutes just grabbing and throwing things in the very first location in alyx, it felt good. probably because the hitboxes for grabbing are larger there. reproduction of fingers in vr is pretty immersive, but i hear most games don't have it because they cater to the lowest denominator which doesn't have finger detection.
and beat saber is fun and sad if i start thinking what am i doing while playing.
>>401208995
and builtin lenses aside (fov, reflections, glowing bezels) i think this whole vr thing needs a major resolution bump. 1920x1080 is enough on 13 inch laptop, so to fill whole view with similar pixel destiny it would have to be like 10-20x of this. and that will be bad because gpus can't do that.
something i have to praise is the tracking of controllers and headset - it's fantastic, even when i thought lighthouses were out of sight. it's fast and accurate, doesn't teleport, doesn't drift.
what's the best head strap for the quest 2

>>401217542
>>401217782
can i use the battery pack with oculus link. i dont have a good enough router for airlink
>>401218928
no you need the type C slot. with oculus link you should be charging the headset while you're playing. I remember some anon said that with the official oculus cable the headset was not losing power even during gameplay.
OG link cable costs more than a wifi 6 router though.
>>401218928
in an ideal world in your situation you'd have 2 batteries and swap them out charging the other one while you use another
>>401219452
>no you need the type C slot.
You need a motherboard that has the voltage to put through the USB port regardless, otherwise the Quest will drain slowly in use.
>>401183918 (OP)
Bonelabs still looks like it has the same rubber band physics than Boneworks.
Only game giving me a hint at motion sickness
ho hyped are you to get a boner in a lab next Thursday?
>>401218928
imagine using airlink capable hmd with a cable link
filthy valve peasants pay 400 dollars for the privilege to use wireless and you will fucking squander it when you got it for free on q2?
you dumb dumb fool.
wifi6 router costs under hundred bucks

>>401243758
you don't get stinky as often if you aren't overweight
>>401244317
you probably smell way worse than you realise, even if you do nothing all day
>>401244317
I'm not overweight and my pits fucking reek after 2 days of not showering, you are full of shit
>>401244394
There is this thing, called antiperspirant. Look it up, piggy.
Got 100e for my old vive+linkbox, hope im not gonna hear back that wtf this don't work without base stations
>>401241967
Extremely. I already have avatars I want to use that fit the body categories. I have a big muscular one that's all arms, a slim one, and a tiny squat one. Also hyped for the possibility of putting my vrc avatar in as a generic enemy so I can kill it.
>>401247026
I'm gonna focus on making stuff that pushes the limits of their system, I wonder if their "automatic physical stats" is a real system and if it would work with asymmetric designs. I want a body with a big fuckoff huge arm that I can whack and grab things with.
>>401205959
You don't need blood and guts to have dismemberment. The null dudes could just lose an arm
>>401244682
stop spraying yourself with a gallon of Axe bodyspray every morning and take a fucking shower you animal
I bet your place looks like a trash heap as well
>>401248303
Stop projecting, you stupid nigger.
You suppose to use it once after showering and also sprays are a meme.
I shower every two days, I just don't stink like a wet dog during the second day, so that's clearly (heh) a (You) issue.
>>401247026
>I already have avatars I want to use
i'm sorry what? what do you mean by have avatars?
booblab
>>401249636
3d models he's ready to import, since the game will support any custom model you set up for it at launch
>>401250353
Did they ever elaborate on what the "custom models" will be? Will it just be .fbx files, or possibly more elaborate things straight from Unity? I got a ton of both I can work with, but I'm not sure if I need to start baking materials onto my .fbx files now, or if what I have set up in Unity works for this.
>>401251903
Boneworks 1 was Unity, and this doesn't look to be different. I want to say that I heard they'll let you use any shader for it, but I can't source that. You'll have to wait until it's out for documentation.
>>401242249
>t. europoor
>>401242249
Yeah, but the day is about 20 minutes in the zone.
>>401251903
>>401252394
It will be a asset bundle build deal just like vrc, though bonelab is using the universal render pipeline so you will need to have URP shaders. Probably only a matter of time until a few popular vrc shader are ported

what isn't these days. Isn't that just a way for devs to scam gamers and Gabe
>>401295348
Would be cool if it received regular updates.
>>401302987
what the fuck is this, modern warlord mount&blade?
the shotgun in Bonelabs looks like shit
I can see why it wasn't added in Boneworks
>>401310747
With how fucking slow they were to update Duck Hunting and Boneworks, I doubt they're capable of rapid versioning. I don't think Boneworks even got the 'save anywhere' feature they had planned. They did the checkpoint stations and called it a day.
>>401311104
Yes. The game had potential but it turns out the devs are a bunch of ukranian jew scammers.
