Here at /vrg/ Academy, this weekend we will be celebrating the wealth of knowledge accrued by some of our alumni the only way a true boarding school would know how, powerpoint presentations. You are cordially invited to attend the lectures this Saturday night at 8pm Eastern Standard time, or 12AM UTC.

We also would like to hereby dispel the rumors of the 4 various "cliques" throwing some form of illegal "school dance hours" the Friday before (at "allegedly" 6pm EST 10pm UTC, and 12:30am EST Friday night), as these events are not supported by your school officials. We whole heartedly discourage attendance to these so called, dance hours.

Need to show your school spirit? Why not dress up like one of the many clubs our school offers, such as automotive (greasers), golf (preps), athletics (jocks), or advanced arithmetic (nerds)! It takes all types to make a boarding school run. Even the miscreants.

I recently pushed out a lot of content to the world while my innards were shitting themselves out for the last week.
Things I've fixed/added are as follows:
>added global pickup for above and below ground items. hoo ray
>increased rendering distance (too the best that unity will let me that is)
>reduced movement speed to double as apposed to quadruple
>added cashblaster and udonchips. At some point I will touch it up to fit the GFL theme but currently there is a "shooting range" and you can blast the zombie lads (they don't have any effects yet and I don't think they respawn either)
>added Poker (yes I replaced all the sounds on it with idw da NYA)
>added more location items of interest
>added more easter eggs

Currently I am looking into adding vehicles though that is proving difficult due to the fact that some of scripts in Sacc's Flight and Vehicle unity package use "typeof" which udon does not like and I haven't found a solution that both makes it work but also doesn't brick udon. Also having the same issue with the VRCDollSet unity package despite getting the supposed Final IK unity package needed to get it working. Additionally debating adding a Roulette prefab but I'm not sure if I want to turn the place into an outdoor casino.

I am itching the idea of doing a meet to demo some of the changes today maybe if it can be squeezed between the EU and NA times of the current vrg event going on. Otherwise I can also wait on that for a later time

Assetbundles are simply the best choice for dynamic user-content. They support loadable scenes (i.e. worlds), and loadable assets (prefabs, anything else). They can even be made to include and load custom scripts with 1 extra line of code. Unity is pants on head retarded for not embracing this explicitly as a feature for custom content.
I don't think Bonelab is going to use uploading for custom content though. Unless there's workshop support, it will probably just use a local folder to drop files into. There is no multiplayer, so no need to host the files anywhere.

I assume bonelab will use something like mod.io instead of steam workshop for cross-platform, like contractors does. Sure, having an official hosting site for mods isn't as necessary in singleplayer, but they'll be some sort of central site, whether official or community. I can only hope it's not nexusmods.

You can load assemblies with .NET by using Assembly.Load().
The way VRC did this for certain worlds and for the old local "Build & Test" worlds (before they removed this unintentionally) is by building a separate DLL that would be included in the assetbundle and then manually loaded by the game. This allows you to use any custom-made component and script in your scene or on your prefabs/objects.

I think the dance space was very nice, and the college campus layout on the outside is nice, but it felt a bit too open design wise, at least from where I spawned. If there was fewer random, steep stairwells, I think it'd have probably felt a lot better. The ones present now feel like they belong on a cartoon college campus. You don't need base stations. Reverb has camera-based tracking, similar to Quest 2 or pretty much any other popular headset that isn't Index or Rift CV1. Cameras track your head relatively to your room, and then they track your controllers relative to headset position. I was thinking on getting something like the 6800XT because it is 16GB (or the newer model coming on November).
But I mostly hear people using Nvidia, not AMD.

6800xt here, comparable performance to 3080/3090 in most VR games, and the extra vram is very nice to have, but you'll occasionally run into games do way better on Nvidia hardware.
ML stuff is also a nightmare on AMD because everything is built with nvidia in mind

I'm tempted to say you just got zucc'd and there's nothing else to do about it but I'm not really sure. Turn the res back down to 100% and maybe look into those fancy upscaling things like DLSS and Image Scaling or whatever nvidia calls theirs.

If it's not actually using all of your cores, you might get better performance disabling SMT in the BIOS. It'll force it to run on actual cores and probably hit higher boost clocks too.
Almost seems like it could be some kind of software issue with whatever you're using to connect your Quest to PC since your CPU/GPU usage looks pretty low.
