Starting out with some simple stuff that doesn't use as much movement can help ease you into things. You're probably going to run into motion sickness at some point, take breaks and don't fight through it and you'll get over it before long.
Keep an eye out for multiplayer lobbies for stuff you have and hop in, they generally get posted about a bit in advance. Pavlov gets played pretty often, so I'd grab that too if you didn't get it.
If you're going to play VRChat, make sure to make an actual account instead using a Steam login.

There are good VRChat worlds to explore, but it can be a pain to dig through and find them. It's basically just luck if you're on your own. You could always just tag along here when people are exploring.
As far as games go, Outer Wilds with the VR mod is pretty heavy on exploration, but I'm not really sure it's what you're looking for.

The gunplay is good. Levels are short and there's not many of them. It relies on you replaying it to get more weapon/attachment/skin unlocks.
