Pro 2 if you really want nice colors and insane resolution. Get it if you want really smooth and sharp visuals. No SDE whatsoever. Pretty high FoV with thin face interface.

Index on other hand has better audio, microphones and eye relief and is overall jack of all trades..

Vive has one ace in the sleeve - native wireless, but it requires giant powerbanks and reduces resolution a bit.

And most importantly DO NOT GET VIVE WANDS. If buying Vive Pro 2, buy Index Controllers from Valve, they are compatable.

I know an Index kit + Vive Trackers is generally speaking the best way to get into FBT especially in VRChat, but is there a superior option? Particularly to address the Index's crap resolution. Alternative are using the HP G2 headset, strapping another vive tracker to the headset, and using a hacky hybrid setup to track it that way. If you do this you will suffer the pain of having to deal with the constant setup and troubleshooting that comes with any and all hybrid setups. The index works natively with vive trackers so it will always be the best and easiest FBT package.

Quest1: OLED - blacks and colors but low resolution, 72hz

Quest2 requires a third-party strap to be a workable solution, Pico4 is best with a third-party facial interface, but stick is not unusable.

ONLY FOR DANCING, you may want to consider Etee controllers. Index controllers are great but not very durable; they will break. Etee controllers will kinda suck for anything but vrchat, but they have finger tracking and should be durable ( no moving parts ). Shipping Dec. 30th.

Alyx is SteamVR only, if you've got a decent PC, you can connect your Quest and use it as a PC headset for that. You'd probably be better off doing that for most games when you have the option.
If you're really stuck without a decent PC, the full Quest release for Pavlov should be out sometime soon.

Decided on a whim to actually make this so here you go. Standard shader would work fine, just slap in the albedo, normal, and metallic textures into the slots and put it on your model. Ps: the band sucks.

My track strap + batteries hold 30 minutes of charge now. I'm figuring out what to replace them with. I wear my foot trackers on my shins because I prefer accurate knee tracking instead of foot tracking. So I don't need the fancy foot straps that go around you heel.
