we're doing vrchat tonight because the cvr encoding script is broken for now. The shows we picked up for the airing season are as follows: Oshi no Ko, Kawaisugi Crisis, Tengoku Daimakyou, and Mahou Shoujou Magical Destroyers. Tonight we will only be watching oshi no ko and tengoku because episode 1 of oshi is 90 minutes long.

A combination of the usual weekday group being burnt out, coupled with some of the usual folks not getting on anymore for various reasons (leaving for the army, not being on VR due to personal/IRL reasons, being away for IRL meetups, school/work stuff, relationship/coomer drama). Then there's people that only really get on for games or movies anymore. Others turned into Discord trannies that play flat games, sit in Discord VC's and only get on for weekends. Probably related to burnout too.
All this combined caused a ripple effect and made a few more people decide to get on less because their main friend group isn't on. This isn't a "sudden" development either, the dropoff happened last october.
Honestly I miss the busy hangouts we had last summer, you would check the website on a wednesday and there would be an instance with like 35 people in it.

Anyway, if you want to revive EU hours some, I suggest making weekday exploration posts in the thread. There are still a good amount of EU's that would like to get on basically every day but just roam pugs or have small instances because there's not much going on. I would be down for joining (or even hosting) world exploration on a usual day every week, like the NA's do.

Yeah I've done all of those, it's been an ongoing issue. One thing that hints it's the cables is sometimes when I took off the headset it would either sparkle or just stop displaying altogether. To test when I had a display, I would wiggle inbetween the guide and the port and it had a similar effect. Today it just refused to display at all and I could see both steamVR and the game tracking

A lot of cheap bluetooth ear/heaphones are shit. High compression and poor signal. The mic gets lower bandwidth priority than the speakers so if you use both set your mic quality expectations low.

Most are designed for use with phones and Bluetooth is somehow much worse when used with a PC. Latency can be 3 or 4 times that of iOS and Android even with quality/expensive pairs. i dont care much for the microphone quality, but the audio delay is concerning since i would like to listen to the dance music with accurate time. although, googling says that bluetooth 5, the typical latency is 40ms? not so bad?

Bluetooth protocol does not allow stereo sound + microphone use at the same time, hence they are all shit. Its not even a matter of cheap vs expensive, even high level Sonys still are shit for the use case. You literally have to drop down to 2000s bluetooth earpiece quality due to the protocol.

Overall it's better to have a stalemate cold war agreement over Groups+ in agreeing that making one is a powergrab that should be avoided by all sub-cliques. Except for events; like you run a dance event, make it a group+ and have like 5-6 people in the group all jannies that just keep the event going.

There's nothing wrong with the current f+ instances that would be solved by having group only instances (jannies being too scared to kick spoonfed randos)

imo people getting banned is the least of issues that come with group+. the group leader having to vet everyone to let them in in the first place is a far bigger issue. This would basically mean that it would be pretty difficult for new people to ever come into this place even through the accepted means, especially when issues arise like the group leader being NA and a new EU wanting to join, guy might have even been to events for a month+ but the NA leader would have never seen them due to timezones and just blocks them when they apply to the group.

This, in turn, would mean that the community stagnates since people keep leaving or going on breaks but we've made it too hard for new people to come in to fill out the empty space. This is the most common reason online communities die in my experience, especially 4chan related ones. We dont necessarily want to keep new people out, we only want to keep out the randos who don't fit in or share the same values we do.
