i dont use my race wheel setup that much and ill never regret buying it. once i get the FFB settings and everything right in a VR race sim thanks to Brian Koponen its incredible. for dirt rally 2 though i followed his settings exactly but the wheel turn ratio was off for some reason, he said it needed to be set to 900 degrees but it didnt go 1:1 with the one in game and feel just right until i set it to 540, i had the soft lock and all that on just like he said.... and also his FFB settings felt weak compared to real life driving imo and i had to turn it up a little bit but his site helped me make it feel way better still and without that site i probably never would have gotten it to feel so perfect

Jesus fuck these damage values are all over the place. I was hoping to find a gun that did good damage (over 50), has full auto, and has rails but there isn't one. The only gun that fulfills those requirements is the AK alpha which apparently will oneshot to the upper chest. Next closest would be the OPSKS which doesn't have full auto. Guess I'm only ever using the AK47. Maybe I'll just go shitpost build and use the luty with tracer rounds and a suppressor. 60 damage per shot light and silent with easy resupplies from fenix.

oh and beamNG does a lot. a fucking LOT. it simulates airflow through the radiator based on your speed... meaning itl get hot fast if you're doing high revs at a slow speed or stopped. and then obviously the engine will get damaged or whatever
it simulates airflow so well you can literally fly planes in that game with a mod that just adds in a plane, theres no tricks, the propellor just causes enough airflow to make it airborne, the game literally models lift and aerodynamics

I can see some reason in that, i wouldn't be surprised if reprojection would introduce some minor input lag. But not sure, one thing I'm sure of is that lower refresh rate is mostly a performance solution, so you can have 80fps instead of 60fps with every second frame reprojected in 120hz mode

Why would you need to unfocus the game to use Steam's VRView?
It doesn't care if it's covered by another application.
VRView will be a choppy 30 fps if using VD ( and possibly other Oculus stuff ) though; they never fixed that.

OBS needs a bit of GPU power for compositing, and if anywhere max capacity it will completely shit itself and freeze for several frames to literal minutes at the time.
The solution to this is running OBS as admin, as a bit of GPU power is reserved for anything running as admin. If using XSOverlay it will also have to be run as admin to interact with it, because reasons.

I joined like 10 or so lobbies that get posted here but it's mostly pvp. I play mostly single player stuff inbetween because I'm still new to VR and there's a huge catalog of stuff I want to get through. Ideally I'd play coop stuff because it's low intensity usually.

Personally, I think the player count starts to dwindle down after we finish the third SND game. I think the map rotation should be something like this:
First map: Gungame as usual to allow people enough time to join
Second: SND

Absolute shit take. Level 2 traders should be easier to get to and the quests need a complete rework but the difference between hobo mode and level 2 traders is huge.

I'm like 10 or 12 hours in and I'm still not at level 2 with any trader, and I've been focusing purely on 2 traders. Not to mention that there's only two traders that have anything worth buying

Personally I think the only sensible way to level traders is to take the hunting rifle kill quests and hit up silo with some friends. Run to the nearest exfil, only check lockers so you have stuff to pop scavs and maybe the odd player here and there with, then pop your friends with the hunting rifle at exfil and bring their weapons in to the next run so you can grind the 13k xp quests.

Walkie talkies are also items that should never be sold. Each pair is worth 4k minty xp and it's the only minty item collection quest that doesn't involve finding loot that's actually usable. In addition only sell stuff to minty or spectre. Spectre is easy to get the money req since a backpack full of pistols gets the most money from them anyway. The quests are mostly kill quests but the no-fail ones are like 1k xp most of the time so you need to really aim to do them over and over.

Also; what's the best way to approach no-win deadlocks in tabor? I mean in cases where you are both hiding around a corner from each other and if either of you back off you will die, but pushing is also a massive disadvantage. In these situations I push and hope for a trade simply to not waste my time, but I have not come up with a solution.
You may think nades but if I hear someone pulling a pin I'm rushing them.
The best idea I have so far is to wait a minute or so, and aim for when their concentration is waning from the adrenaline starting to wear off and then rush them hoping that me knowing when the engagement will happen and them not knowing gives me the advantage. Or rush immediately before they've had time to set up and think.

With a teammate the deadlock is easy; just get a flank going, or have them use a grenade.

Grab all of the kill players quests from spectre and minty and just have those going constantly. They pay out shitloads compared to the fenix ones and except for the "in x raids" ones you can take your time with them. One is like 5 player kills in 3 deaths which is easy as too. The kill 15 fenix in 3 raids with smgs is great too if you're hard balling in silo. Making a quick loop through hitting the cafeteria by the pink room, yorik's grave, the underground tunnels, the staircase, and the train exfil is the hotspots for fenix spawns so a quick loop of that can easily net you over 10 fenix kills per raid. Just don't waste your time with the ones that only pay out 1k rep for a handful of fenix kills. You're better off having it tick over for other more valuable ones. Minty's full set of armour quest also pays out quite nicely too. Just remember if it doesn't want to deliver an item it might need to go back into a raid and out again to get its found in raid tag. I find the boss altyns and armour does that often.

The answer is that since the quest 2 tracks controllers by line of sight to the headset, no there's no way to track them outside.

Your options are:

- Buy self-tracked controllers (quest pro controllers are the only ones that I know of)

- Switch to lighthouse tracked controllers, which requires you to buy both a set of lighthouses and a set of controllers. Valve Knuckles are currently the go-to. While it is technically possible to use lighthouse-tracker controllers with a quest 2, with hybrid tracking, it is generally not a pleasant experience. So if you're going to do this, you might as well just get an index.

Setting up an Index from scratch only requires you to put up the base stations somewhere high and do a room calibration once.
The room calibration takes maybe 5 minutes the first time. I can do it in one minute, skipping the reading.

From then on you just start your controllers and can get into VR once SteamVR has finished loading, like with any other headset.
