How annoying is it to move from one shader to another if you're somewhat comfortable working in Unity and Blender, and is it worth it if you're just moving from something like lilToon to Poyomi?

Using a different shader isn't too hard, but the more accustomed you are to the advanced features in your shader the harder it will be.
If you just use the basic default settings and maybe a normal map, it's extremely easy to switch.
One thing to keep in mind is that you may have to click "Reset" on the material under the gear icon, because otherwise old properties will carry over and cause issues.
Moving away from liltoon is worth it IMO. Consider SCSS or Poiyomi. SCSS overall has better lighting, but Poiyomi is basically the Adobe After Effects of shaders, and has a lot of special effects built in. If you don't intend to use these weird features like glitter or panospheres then give SCSS Crosstone a try. If you do want these features then use Poiyomi.

The question wasn't difficulty, the question was annoyance of matching parameters across different shader versions and maybe having to go into Photoshop to change a normal or specular to a correct color version since I haven't bothered to look into how each handles it vs the performance rewards, since VRC doesn't give a fuck about your shaders when calculating avatar weight and while I'm comfortable enough to do basic 3D modeling and file swapping, I'm not enough of an autist to understand how optimized different shader packages are and how well they perform in the VRC lighting environment and would rather defer to the experience of someone who actually does.

Yeah that's the point with Tarkshit games, it's all about stacking advantages to make any encounter as uneven as possible which for some reason the players have convinced themselves is skill based. Being able to play with complete noobs (so you can rush their spawn 20 seconds in), use exploits (so you can make less noise), access better gear, stack with friends and eventually they'll add stats to give the autistic grinders more speed and health regen too.
Yet somehow it's not even as bad as Tarkov where you can outright paypig for additional advantage and reduction of risk.

You also picked a shitty time to play. Right after a huge wave of item duplication and glitching that flooded the game with high end gear. There's a reason everyone says the best time to play these kind of games is when the server starts fresh when half of those advantages are lessened.

I don't know how to explain you are wrong other then you are are wrong. Even with all of the gear duped, headshots still work. If you play more then 2 minutes of VR shooters you have the same advantage as everybody else, bodyshots with full tower armor may stop like, a bullet, maybe two.

There is literally a %2 advantage to having good gear, if anything it encourages people to hunt you harder and you get jumped with more fervor.
