Nothing will make it feel like Tarkov but the STALKER mod does feel like a randomized newgame+ mode and the looting/scavenging is much more impactful when anything can spawn. The mod makes the shop very expensive too so it forces you into a 'use what you loot' playstyle. High end enemies being able to spawn right away gets you thinking about ammunition types and inventory management from the get go but if you've not completed ITR before that will make it much harder.

I currently own an OG vive, but im planning on buying either a quest 2 or quest 3, and as you can tell I always been on PCVR, and I'm not planing to change that.
My main concern is what extras steps are needed to get PCVR working properly? I know that for example, if you want to use Virtual Desktop or Airlink, you need a router exclusively for the quest, another option is using a link cable or something similar, but people talk that you loss quality while being wired and also you lost the feature of being wireless which is extremely comfortable from what I've heard.

That's fine. PCVR meta is to either go Index for best generalist headset or get Quest 2 for it's value and wireless PCVR capability. No point waiting for the next Valve headset.
New Quest 3 features look stacked towards non-PCVR stuff but we still need to see some real comparisons of the lenses and displays.
If it's games you want then either are good options. If VRChat is your motivation then get an Index so you can get the tranny trackers.

Are you using one of the blue-colored USB 3.0 ports, labeled in the photo ( assuming this is the right mobo )? All the other ports, including the front-panel ones, are USB 2.0.
Is your adapter actually USB 3.0? The Type-A side should be colored blue, and have 8 pins ( 4 right at the entrance and another 4 in the back ).

There are some USB controllers that are legit incompatible, as you have discovered, and your motherboard appears to be on the ancient side, so you may need to buy a separate USB controller and stick it in a free PCIe slot.
