It's because there are no good longevity games thst kept us coming back as much as Pavlov or pre-quest onward that people are terminally in vrc. It doesnt help some like to play laid-back casually and others competitive, so that's another element offputting. Then you have people who simply cannot have fun period and have to whine about the littiliest of things during and post-games. The magic of 2018-2019 just isn't something you can recreate anymore. Maybe that mini golf is the closet we'll get to it, at least for a while. Ive always been skeptical of every major vr release because they get too hyped up and spiral out into dead fotm within months so its interesting its lasted this long.

I think a lot if people including myself dont want to buy overpriced games that'll likeky be instantly dead on arrival or dear within weeks.

>>432447803 (Cross-thread) #
This is also true. The industy as a whole is overdue for a reset button some day
Anonymous No.432463326
>>432462336
Yeah, I'd say that the increase in competitiveness is why we can't recapture the magic of the 2019 era Pavlov lobbies.
Some people want to be extremely competitive and meta and others want to relax and have a nice time. It's very hard to fill a lobby that everyone enjoys when people have those conflicting desires.

Can you please upload the decrypton key to steamdb so people can verify the files independently ?
https://steamdb.info/tokendumper/
You can do it anonymously if the game is currently installed.

I can rewrite the verification program, because currently it relies on the filenames, but maybe it's better to just upload it.

But big thanks anyway.

Question to experienced Vrchat users.

For those of you who are spending most of your time in VR. Are you starting you feel disconnected from reality. Do you feel like you irl self isn’t part of you but rather just a a meat suit for you soul? VR for me is getting increasingly more real to my life more so than irl. The only time I’m not in VR is when I’m on the toilet or at work. All my dreams has also started to be more VR focused experiences. Is all this normal!?

Question
I was talking to some folk about the GFL event I ran last year late summer/early autumn and it seems there's interest in having the event again this year.
IF we did a rerun of the event, what do you think should change? Cater more towards PNC since that's more recent? Have the map be made by someone else or use the same world but with minor tweaking?

So the way I've explained it is different from most people. This might sound a bit retarded but I generally see the body separated into 3 entities. The conscious mind, the physical body, and the unconscious/subconscious mind. To be healthy all 3 need to be relatively healthy and on the same page and health is directly related to the state of all 3. The physical body is the vessel for primarily the conscious. The subconscious mind is still constantly performing subroutines but it's not driving the ship as much and it largely takes a back seat as an invisible care taker if that makes sense. The vr body at least to me starts to feel like the subconscious is driving as much if not more than the conscious mind, almost as if the vr body becomes a vessel for it in the same way that the physical body is a vessel for the conscious mind. You begin to once comfortable enough let the subconscious take over and do as it pleases as the social norms and physical restrictions start going out the window. Physically you're still piloting it but I feel like the subconscious is allowed to come out and play a lot more and you start doing/saying things you'd never do irl because the mind is curious and subconsciously it's something you've wanted to do but couldn't. You begin to move in different ways, talk in different ways, think in different ways. When I get out of the headset I revert more or less immediately. Sometimes in my dreams I'll claw back at it all but I have little to no issues returning to reality and continuing as I was because to me it just feels like switching between who's piloting the ship. This might sound like a schizo ramble or whatever but it's how I've begun to rationalize it. I've never taken a good chance to write it down in an academic format so this is the first draft.

As for your dreams especially if you're newer to VR most people start to experience what generally gets blanketed under the tetris effect and it's fairly common.

The first match will be against /hgg2d/ next Sunday, June 11th, at 19:40 UTC/3:40pm EST. There probably won't be a VR showing that night, but there will be for the next two group stage matches which will be on Saturday and Friday of the following 2 weeks @ 11:30pm EST.

Is Aftershocks worth playing in Saints and Sinners? Chapter 2 is set in the same locations partially isn't it, I don't want to get too bored of the sameness in Chapter 2 by playing a DLC set on those locations as well.
Also, finished the main first game, it was very nice, kind of weird how there was no big battle in the end though, just kind of walked through the battlefield in the last mission and nobody shot at me.

The VR body serves as the vessel of the subconscious because virtual reality/metaverse is an imitation of the real heaven created by the devil.
So your subconscious(soul) feels more at home in vr and that's why it exerts more control.
The spiritual is deeply connected to the internet/the virtual world.
That's why Terry Davis, the modern day prophet, developed temple os to talk to God.

Hey Anons, I've started to figure out that my PC runs VR like shit and I can't tell what part of my PC is the bottle neck.
Currently running a
>Ryzen 3700x
>16GB of Ram
>RTX 3070
>2.5GB/s NVME
Headset
>Quest 2
>Running through USB B to USB C cable
>Runs at 3.5Gb/s
It mainly happens during H3VR which before Anton copes and sneeds about it, I have a library of around 130GB of mods mostly the Tarkov/Modul stuff, just with the frame times tanking and my headset hitting 45fps I can't tell if it's Ram related, CPU related, VRAM related or just my GPU not cutting the resolution of the Quest 2.
Any suggestions Anons?

Mods are usually heavy on the RAM if you're loading them all in at once and you don't seem to have that much RAM. Frametimes could be dropping because the game needs to retrieve data from your page file instead. I'd get 32GB.

Funnily enough that's why I'm posting, tried out the new Tarkov ported map which was fun to play if not for my frametimes being absolutely horrid and my framerate tanked so hard that the cyclical rate of my AK-105 was slowing down.
https://h3vr.thunderstore.io/package/calafex/Factory_Take_and_Hold/
Was also tempted to see if anyone was up for H3VR but after seeing multiple unironic actual troon nonces and groomers on multiple discord servers I decided to not go on servers anymore.

If you have xsoverlay or fpsvr you can see an overlay with separate frametimes for CPU and GPU, plus RAM and VRAM usage. It's nice for finding bottlenecks.
You could also just open up task manager for now while you're playing to make sure your RAM is actually the bottleneck.

Try these

https://h3vr.thunderstore.io/package/Marcel/TNH_Supermarket_Night/

https://h3vr.thunderstore.io/package/Marcel/TNH_Modern_Mansion/

https://h3vr.thunderstore.io/package/Marcel/TNH_Wurst_City_Night/
https://h3vr.thunderstore.io/package/Nikpo/Rostok_TnH/

supermarket night and modern mansion are my favorites by far, they are not exactly tarkov-like (although supermarket night feels like interchange) but they do set the mood (modern mansion is amazing for pistol john-wick style tnh). The forest is probably the most tarkov like but it's so dark that it feels a little weird to play

Dust 2 city is also really nice, the layout is amazing

I'll definitely have a look as I've mainly tried... Modern Mansion which was fun but insanely hectic on PMC Pete. For me I've recently enjoyed Hotel Hotlink a lot, Costa con Carne is good but has one too many opaque shootable bushes for the sossigs to shoot through but otherwise a lot of fun. Played a bit of Island Compound too which is good.
Supermarket has been on my list ever since Andrew_FTW released NOD mods.
I play a lot of Shooty House, the only issue is there's 1-2 rooms in it that tank my FPS for no reason and I can't tell if that's a scripting error or not.
Funnily enough Modmass 2022 with the clay range with the voice "pull" commands really help me when I can't afford to go clay shooting.
My absolute Favourite recently has been Facility2E by Devy which I adore and runs incredibly well for the 47 or so sossigs that I have on it.

It's fine, I think I've found a decent hosting site. Will do it tomorrow.

The question is, what should be the name of the group? [VRG] is kinda on the nose.
Something more discreet maybe. Anyone has any ideas?

For starters, this thread shouldn't come up at all when you search the name.
It's not super clear what you're trying to do, but if you're trying to do releases on torrent sites as some kind of group, you shouldn't be discussing this in the open at all.

I’m toying the idea around about doing a tabor event similar to some shit I used to do in my osrs guild. It’s called a bingo, and basically would involve me setting up a bingo card with various challenges (kill 5 players using a shotgun, extract with 10 skulls, find two yellow keycards, etc) and teams of 3 could enter and compete to see who could clear a bingo row first. For a prize I was thinking an ak alpha 3d model if I can rip it from the game. Any thoughts, does it sound fun? Proof would need to be video or ss for kills with weapons, and pics of item found in raid for items.

if you had downshifted at around 5-8 seconds to gear 3 you could have possibly maintained almost the same speed while staying in complete control

as long as nothing catches you off guard you can drive these cars like a complete fucking maniac and not lose control. having a hand brake and clutch pedal is very important though. ive just been having to use a paddle shifter as a button for handbrake but its still much better than none at all

OP, I am once again asking to be added to your list. The thread is a little slower, so oopsie I'll ask again near bump limit.
Ladies(male) and gentlewomen.
We're also back again! Idols, Wishing and Stars? What's missing?
The dancing of course. /ourDJ/ is once again dropping some beats for you to idol step to.
With every rendition, not only does the DJ improve but also the club. I'm very proud of the visuals now.

Once again, there will be a passcode to this club. The passcode this time is 6182
Naturally, you will have to add Spheri to your merry band of friends not to get hit.

The theme around this time is the friends we've made along the way, dress in your Yukata,
idol outfit or just the usual dance outfit, we're all uniting together in this month.
I'm not planning on making it a groups+ instance for now, it'll be Friends+ once again.

This'll be happening the upcoming Friday night, 1 AM EST.
(Yes, this is technically Saturday, but it does not collide with the other VRC event that the dog does.)
Hope to see you there anons!
I'll post daily reminders orso as we get closer to the date.

its hard to play, hard to see the table, and my god do you guys play slow as fuck!!! i wish i had face tracking so you guys could have noticed when i was staring holes in you taking 2 minutes to discard a fucking tile between glomping eachother

all that aside mahjong is hosted like 4-5 times a week i think people just need a break, not sure how many games i would want to play with the amount of what feels like intentional bad play (someone is in riichi, other players kan mutliple times despite being nowhere near tenpai, player in riichii scores 12han from dora and uradora alone and ends the game)

I'm sure you can fill tables most nights, but my point is that playing a niche game reduces the potential people who might show up to a much smaller pool which means if even a few of the regulars don't show, it's a much bigger problem then if there was a big number of people who rotate through because the barrier of entry is lower.

Oh that's true; there is a VRAM penalty because shapekey data is stored in the VRAM along with the rest of the mesh data. It's not usually much though; textures should always be the focus, shaving shapekeys saves you like 1-5MB. Maybe more for high polygon models. While textures... oof.

It's not unplayable per se. But it lacks a good controller input adaptive scaling. There is some scaling which you can enable, but it doesn't work as good.

The issue is, that at high speed you only need miniscule input to control the car and not spin out, with wheel it's easy. But with a thumbstick stick, you need to move it in extremely small amounts to do proper inputs.

Dirt Rally is has better controller support and you also move your wheel way more aggressively during rallying, so it's fine.

And most likely it will be hand tracking only, without controllers because it's "sleek cool and futuristic".

You will be able to use IPAD apps on virtual IPAD, it will have some yet another normalfag VRChat clone with some user generated content capability, and some simplistic nonviolent handtracking only games.

Remember "Coding New Worlds" slogan?

a rule of thumb is to just bootup your blend file, duplicate the mesh remove shapekeys unused (dont even really need to do this when you split meshes desu, only if you wanna squeeze EVERY bit of optimization out, i usually just keep them there) and then split off the mesh that is shapekeyd to its own mesh

set anchor ovverride for light to hips or head or whatever in unity after on the mesh

i almost had to go to the ER today the vomitting stopped i think

their identity is "i am a vr user" they fail to realise that isnt an identity, just like "i am a phone user" is not an identity. these vr devices are just like phones, they will be owned by everyone moreso than personal computers even, just like phones.

at some point your dollar store 20 dollar phone might be able to run shit better than a 4090 7800x3d combo can right now with infinite ram

so what will be sold are chasis for the phone which powers it

some absolute morons are trying to sell that shit right now but are 10 years too early

>Productivity headset.
For who? Not for normalfag office workers because it means the boss won't be able to look over their shoulder. Maybe in a different timeline where they didn't try to kill work from home as soon as possible. This is the same mistake Zuck made. Shame because these panels might be good enough not to strain the eyes when reading text all day.
B2B VR headsets have long been catering to the CAD, architectural and medical 3d model fields so they're already taken. Anyone with serious tasks is going to need a real keyboard so they might as well sit at a desk or workstation.
Their presentation seems to suggest it's mostly aimed at management types who make regular facetime calls and take frequent business trips. That might be a good call because they're also the ones with the ability to frivilously spend (often company) money on these gimmicks.

Apple sells over 2.4 million Mac Pro Workstations every year.
The vast majority of those sales are not made to individuals, they're made to companies.
Those same companies do not ask their employees questions, they just buy, and buy, and buy.
If Cook tells them that their business will be in some way better because they buy their employees these ridiculous headsets, they will, they won't even question it.

If they move less than a quarter million units in the first 6 months, it'll be because of supply issues alone.

I'm losing my mind over this Apple Vision Pro. After all these years of hype and rumour and delays and THIS is what they have to show as their big new device on par in importance with the original iPhone. A glorified Quest 2 with no controllers and no games. I am fucking stunned. I thought at MINIMUM it would be a cool luxury device with some funny quirky features that ultimately aren't particularly useful and not a device for me, but it can't even manage that. They showed NOTHING. What the fuck can this thing do that a Quest 2 can't? You can use it as a display for your Macbook? You can do videocalls where you are represented as a 3d avatar? Like holy shit. Normies aren't going to give a shit because they showed NOTHING cool or innovative or interesting. VR already has a stigma and everyone is familiar with the concept of portable VR, so spending half of your presentation showing someone sitting alone in a room looking at fucking 2d photographs isn't going to get anyone excited or invested in your product.

Have they lost the plot? The presentation before the reveal was also pretty garbage, spending like 5 minutes talking about showing photos when people call you and SCREENSAVERS. The only cool thing they showed at all was when they picked a 'live' photo and instantly turned it into a sticker, which magically removed the background from it.

The fucking headset doesn't even have haptics. Or ANY games that aren't flatgames. The Disney portion was just showing concepts that 'could' be done, like all the same shit we've seen before with second screens and companion apps.

The price was largely irrelevant to my reaction but having the balls to announce it at $3.5k, after showing so little, is crazy. Nothing interesting from a VR perspective, nothing interesting from an AR perspective. Nothing innovative, nothing cool. Nothing. At minimum, show us something cool with hand tracking. ANYTHING

Expected overpriced but impressive, not overpriced and unimpressive.
When Apple shows off something totally new, I expect bleeding edge, at prices well beyond the bleeding edge.

Instead we got the $3500 Apple Hololens XReal Air with Quest 2 FOV and 2 hours of battery life.
There are no redeeming features, they fucked it from top to bottom, they've lost in every category except pixel count.

Here's the summary of my Youtube "hands-on preview" several weeks in advance so you don't have to actually watch it, enjoy.

Pros:
The displays are so fucking good.
So far beyond anything else I've ever tried. So god damn fucking good it cannot be overstated.
Shame Sony can't make more than about 250,000 a year.
If you like VR gaming, don't go try one of these headsets, don't do it, it's going to make you mad, it's so god damn fucking clean and clear god fucking dammit why aren't all headsets this way FUCK it's seriously good. I don't know the numbers, but it's gotta be >40PPD.
It's distinctly cleaner and clearer than the Pimax Crystal.
Sony and Apple absolutely killed it with these displays.

Cons:
Heavier than a Quest 2
2 hour battery life
It's so much heavier than it should be.
Runs HOT. It made me pour sweat harder than any other headset I've used, it was fucking gross. Every inch of the headset gets very warm to the touch, as does the power cable which I do NOT like. Reviews will downplay this, even mine will, please take the fucking hint.
The FOV is just a slight bit better than the Quest 2, colleague says on par with Quest 3.
Very heavy.
115 degree "max", I have a 72mm IPD and my estimates put it around 95 degrees, but that was with a thick "generic" facial interface and definitely could be improved, but it's going to suffer from the same IPD related problems as the Quest 2.
Did I mention how heavy it was?
The headstrap feels amazing for about 15 minutes, but fails to keep the enormous weight off your face.
It put me in mind of my old modified Samsung Odyssey headset, similar weight but better balance, insufficient headstrap.

If Apple renders are true, it's not even close. Apple offers a true VR operating system instead of a VR game launcher.

They are risking a lot and trying to replace computer/phones with headsets. If it's really polished like in the videos, I think it's pretty neat. But it's not a gaming device, but most likely it will have games, and maybe even SteamVR streaming to it, maybe... But you'll have to get some replacement controllers
Anonymous No.432600037
>>432599035
It's very cool and quiet when displaying a 720p Youtube video or scrolling through Reddit, but a 5 year old flatgame will push it to its limits.

It may be an M2 in there, with a wittle co-processor to help it do actual VR headset things, but it's no 12-core M2 Max/Pro 30-GPU-core 512-bit Quad Channel NOPE, none of those things.
This is a 6th gen iPad shoved into a VR headset. In raw bullshit numbers that don't actually matter, it's around 3TFLOPs to the Quest 3 at 2.4TFLOPS.

Their VR operating system is the same as their Phone operating system and Tablet operating system and TV operating system...
"Operating System" is a buzzword for Apple.
They're not trying to replace computers or phones with their headsets, that's a fucking retarded idea.

It will not have SteamVR integration of any kind whatsoever.
The only 3rd party controllers it supports are Xbox One and PS5 controllers.
Sorry kiddo.

Those renders aren't at all accurate to the real experience.
Keep in mind the FOV is comparable to the Quest 2.
Anonymous No.432600696
Also, Apple is going to avoid advertising FOV for as long as possible, maybe forever. Not because it's poor, which it is, but because they just don't want you to think about it. Fewer numbers for you to compare to other products. What numbers have they released? Oh, right, just a little bit of info about the displays, by far the most impressive thing (maybe the only impressive thing) about this headset.

Considerably worse than their phones or even their most overpowered laptops.

>has M2 chip
What does "has M2 chip" mean to you?
You realize the iPad Pro has an M2 chip and yet doesn't run macOS applications, funny how that works right?

It's a shit consideration for a replacement to a computer. You'll get a better experience with a single 32" 1440p monitor.
