The "roughly same as Quest 2" statement comes from the Q&A with Boz right after the Q3 announcement.
The Quest Pro uses two separate movable panels that are rotated 90 degrees; the single shared panel used by the Q2/3 is probably what limits the FOV.

Can you use Any State in a sub-state machine?
Mine always transitions to the layer default (the orange state).

If I put the content of this sub-state machine into the top level (i.e. don't use a sub-state machine), then the Any State there selects the correct hand gesture.

Also, does this even save any performance? I combined three layers like this into one layer with 3 sub-state machines to save on layers, but I still have the Any States in the sub-state machines. In fact, instead of 3 Any States, I now have 4 because an Any State also has to choose the sub-state machine.

Blendtrees would be slightly cheaper. In my testing I switched from gestures done by ANY state to gestures done by blendtree and the difference wasn't that big. the number of layers though had a massive impact and it really needs to be part of VRC's perf ranking.

Amazing Perfomance everyone, Epecially i liked Pypy Rangers with their synced dance and avatar combined show, Very Showing music Talent perfomed by Hiems Gelida with his Instrumental and vocal skills, and of course - Cockroaches, my GOD this was a blast visually, perfomance wise, technologically (pre recorded band movemtnts and camera stuff, what a legend), the song choice and act of course - i'd say it is a solid 10/10

No, posting avatar progress isn't inherently avatarfagging at all, if you aren't shitposting.

People need to understand the origin of the rule against "avatarfagging". It stems from people constantly using the image of the same character to accompany basically each of their posts for the purpose of needlessly circumventing anonymity or roleplaying for attention when it doesn't even add anything to the discussion.
Avatarfagging is forbidden _to prevent off-topic shitposting_, not because there's something inherently, magically wrong with posting the same character twice.

If you are genuinely just contributing your on-topic work in progress, then you are not doing it with the primary intent to needlessly deanonymize yourself. Then you are not doing it to roleplay for attention. Then you ARE adding to the discussion.
People also falsely equate the "avatar" in "avatarfagging" with the "avatar" in "VRChat avatar". Yes, that's the same letters, but they mean totally different things.

TL;DR:
Let the jannies/mods sort out your potential avatarfagging, instead of censoring yourself.

They can see in the logs whether you go overboard posting your character for 2/3rds of your posts without them adding anything to the discussion. Stop being scared to post because of what some fun police doing it for free thinks and just post your work.

Not a nightmare. They had that repuation because they were harder than importing an MMD model but even those are not common anymore.
It takes some work to port but the real challenge is making the model look good within Koikatsu as the default characters look bad with their big lightbulb heads.

RoR2 VR was interesting but it definitely wasn't made for it, it's normally third person and shit is constantly happening and it makes VR very frantic. Controls were a bit ass and it felt bad activating Bandit's R skill by gripping the controller.

If DRG VR wasn't crashing every 20 minutes I wouldn't even bother to boot it up in flat. It's just so much more fun in my opinion. I haven't played enough ror2 to have an opinion. Only installed it and tried to see if it worked for one map and it did feel frantic.

I've been having an issue with my Index controllers where the left one temporarily loses tracking whenever it vibrates/rumbles. It happens pretty consistently, I was about to RMA it before I borrowed a friend's pair of controllers for testing and realized that it happened on those too.
Could this be an issue with my base stations? It's possible that both sets of controllers have some sort of internal problem, but I find that to be unlikely.

As far as I'm aware of, rumble can only be turned off on a game-by-game basis via steam bindings, but some games don't have the option to do so (for example, when I recently played Pavlov I went to check for the haptics section but it was missing).

If they work fine for your friend it's more likely to be a software or PC hardware problem. Rift/S has a similar problem caused by USb bandwidth limitations, unlikely to be the case but you can do an easy test by removing all other USB devices on the same bus. You find yourself in a dark hallway with a lot of small stuff around – a clock, cigarettes, bunch of paintings and furniture, TV and a mirror, all that spiced up by some lamps and a ceiling fan. If you just stay here you can enjoy a calm atmosphere and a very nice, soothing map. But if would dare to open that one door after some steps, placed like an arrow guiding you towards it… Well, you better be ready for an adventure. Without much spoilers, all I’m going to say that the main feature of this map are Light-Switches you can press at any moment, there’s roughly 7 of them, and believe me – the scariest part is when you have to Press this dam Switch, not knowing what exactly will you see afterwards….
Best be played Solo(good luck) or by a group of 2-4 people, rough play time is 20-40 minutes. For better immersion put Volume up so you can hear your footsteps provided on the map and don’t use “glowing in the dark” avatars – lighting here is so good you’ll regret it.

P.S The work with lights here is too good to easily describe, I was doing this map with a friend and only because we were together we finished it, when I was taking pictures I chickened out after few minutes even with vrc sounds off, this was too much for me alone.
P.P.S. It’s only by my opinion, but the map is Incredibly reminiscent of the P.T., and I mean it – after being through at least 15 different serious attempts of vrc P.T. map recreation, only here after another “circle” I could find myself standing on the start catching my breathe, seeing what changed this time and seriously doubting if I should continue; not because of screamers or shaky shaders or eye-destroying garbage, no – because I noticed that this time the ceiling fan stopped rotating in that exact spot where the light switch turned off…

Depends on what kind of horror, Paradox of Hope has good guns and can be slightly spooky but not in classic horror sense. Cosmodread is pretty nice for the spooky atmosphere but gunplay is mediocre. S&S is fine but it's classic zombie horde rather than horror. ItR and ZONA can be bit spooky but not real horror either. Outer Wilds VR mod is probably one of the best flat mods to the date.

TML doesn't randomly flail at all. In fact there's nothing random about TML, the biggest criticism I have of them is taht they do the same moves over and over. Like the one where you go from side to side while crossing your arms or the one where you push one side while stepping to the other side. Ultimately, to know people you need to meet people. Keep in mind that vrchat and vrg are especially friendly environments because socializing is the appeal of it.
There is multiple regular activities (dancing, movies, world exploration, mahjong, non vrchat games too like golf/assetto, ...) hosted in the threads here, those activities can often be nice ways to break the ice so maybe give it a try.

i would say there's no good way to start that process, it will be uncomfortable for the first few times. As said above visit common meetups posted here
If you're too scared to exoeriment i'd recommend to at least try to look approchable, so don't autistically nonstop run around - stay closer to people for them to notice you, there's many people (like me) who will notice that there's a new person and approach them a time or a couple! We know it's hard to be a new one in a group so we'll at least try to greet you and talk to you.
If you're brave enough thou - you can stay in a talking circles and just tune in whenever you feel you want to say something, not everyone can do this - but if you can it will ease the process.
After you get accostomed to people around you will naturally start making friends around, it's really not a big deal, stick around and eventully you will find a new friend group!
(there is 1 and only 1 condition thou - you have to have a vr, not for vrchat but for vrg community specifically, traditionally desktoppers aren't welcomed here. In case you don't have a headset, i'd recommend going more normie way and join vrc group like No Friends Friends club or anything other like that)
