Sushi Ben was good. The characters and art style are great but too few environmental interactions for my taste.
Z.O.N.A Origin was not worth downloading. It's nowhere near demo ready and just feels like asset store stuff thrown together into a level. I'm familiar with the exact same VR mechanics from other single dev asset jumbles.
Whitewater VR is the second best VR kayak game (there are at least 3 that I know of now). Levels look worse than KayakVR and the game has horrendous levels of TAA but the environment does have some variety even if the scenery is less interesting. Something about the physics just feels off to me; The paddle doesn't collide with the environment so no pushing yourself around and the current often just stops in a jarring unrealistic way. While it's not as pretty I think if you took the physics from KayakVR and put then in these levels I'd prefer Whitewater.

If you're making a simple room you hopefully have used probuilder in unity to make the mesh. It automatically makes the UVs for you to easily support tiled surfaces. Use https://ambientcg.com/list?category&date&createdUsing&basedOn&q=+wood+flooring+&method&type&sort=Latest to get some tileable textures. Just use 1k textures for your map. Should be able to choose which sets to download. Most of these will come with normal maps, displacement maps, and metallic/roughness maps so you can pretty easily plug those into standard shader and tile them as needed. There's two types of normal maps but they're just inverted really. You can set the normal intensity to a negative value if it doesn't look right.
Just remember standard shader uses white-black (or maybe just the red channel I can't remember but white-black works) as metallic and alpha as smoothness on a single texture. You can't put in a roughness texture alone on standard shader. To convert it, just throw both the metallic and the roughness textures into gimp, put the roughness layer on top, desaturate them to be black and white if necessary, use colour to alpha on the roughness texture layer so the smooth parts (will be black on a roughness map and white on a smoothness map) are transparent, then set the roughness layer's mode to erase, and merge the layers together. This will make the rough parts transparent and the smooth parts opaque while maintaining the white-black of the metallic.

Map's coming along nicely. Still plenty to do but I managed to figure out baking lights for real this time. Here's a list of things I've learned in case you're running into problems and don't know what the fuck you're doing (like me)
>for the fbx of your meshes you want to bake, in your assets folder in the inspector window, model tab, you need to tick generate lightmap uvs
>on the mesh gameobject in your scene hierarchy in the inspector window, mesh renderer component you need to tick contribute global illumination (keep this unticked for non-static objects)
>skinned meshes (has armature or blendshapes) cannot contribute global illumination and thus cannot be baked
>you need to set all of your lights' mode to baked before you bake
>don't put lights inside objects that have the contribute global illumination box ticked (so keep light bulbs unticked)
If you don't do these things those objects and lights just won't bake. Also some bonus tips:
>don't put light probes outside the player area, inside objects, or under the ground
This stops people from suddenly turning black when they slightly clip into things, get too close to walls, or lie down
>set your reflection probe type to realtime for the bake and then switch it to baked after it has baked
Without this every material with any metallic will look like shit.
