::BOOTH-BAN FRIDAY (TDAs and Furries also banned) | March 1st : :

THERE WILL BE AN EU VERSION
Tired of seeing the booth meta?
Long for the rose tinted days where everyone just used whatever they found or could throw together?
Booth-Ban Friday will be a 1-2 hour pregame event for Friday.

We'll start off in Prismic's Avatar Search world for anyone who hasnt already found a non-booth and just to play roulette for half an hour or so and then migrate to the destination location.

Find a neat MMD of your favorite anime character as a taliban soldier? Wanna relive the glory days of being a subzero iq obama knuckles? Do you miss your old avatar you made years ago that just isn't sexy enough to wear all the time?
Bring it on down to Booth-Ban friday!

If you don't have one saved, feel free to go to Prismic's avatar search world where they have a randomizer that will give you a completely random avatar and you can find one you like!
https://vrchat.com/home/world/wrld_57514404-7f4e-4aee-a50a-57f55d3084bf
If your normal avatar isn't a booth, say a robot, spaceman, dinosaur, or horse, you're still allowed to show up, but will be called lame.
Anyone showing up in a booth, TDA, or furry avatar will be warned to swap and possibly kicked.

When?
March 1st
NA 7:00 PST / 10:00 EST
EU 21:00 UTC

This is only going to be a short little 1-2 hour event to get the friday night kicked off, lets see what you guys can find!

The only influence that matters is in game. People who host VR games and the people who do things in vrchat are the people driving the bus. Most of the stuff you see here is people posting because they're bored or screaming into the void.

In short, if you want to be a person with influence, contribute to the community!

i tried this with the rigged elin on deviant art but making the visemes seems hell on earth, the textures all look like shit and the meshes have holes and breaks and proportions, especially the hands are yuge. I think it would be easier to take something like maya and just matches the proportions, and maybe use the hair and outfits. then the most important part, memorizing the elin dances & body language

Yeah, the visemes might be a mess. With the ripped models, I'm certain that you'd have to create the visemes from scratch. No idea what the state of the elin models you'd find on deviant art would be, I've seen them around deviantart many times when looking around for clothes.

Setting up your own visemes isn't really thaaat hard once you get into the rhythm of it.

Deviantart is a wasteland now, yeah. So much good stuff gone. I still think it's probably the best place to find elin models, other than ripping them. (I'd suggest just ripping)

I think taking a booth and just making it elin-like would probably be the best approach for anon.

That's then shit into a website where I can click the thumbnail to get invited to the world, which I have attached in ovr. there's normally a favourites button also but I broke something

That implies there's only one of us! I too hate these fucking things and I also did the same thing you did where I bought another pair to see if that'd fix it but nope, same issue. So I thought it might be the QPro headset itself. Bought a Quest 3, paired the QPro controllers with that, and what do you know the same exact issues happen.

There is no downscaling bullshit at 75hz mode and the resolution difference between 2k (Quest 3) and 2.5k (Beyond) is noticeable enough to me as an owner of both headsets. Quest 3 does look really nice though for being half the price.
>>467370508
The only thing that annoys me as someone that owns one are the lenses. Wire is perfectly fine, means I don't have to add extra weight with batteries that I'm constantly swapping or plugging in throughout the night. People always bring up eye/face tracking and yeah those are really cool features, but like, two consumer headsets on the market have that, that's it. Not exactly a widespread feature other headsets have that this one is missing. Eyetracking may also be coming soon as an official mod which would be cool.
75hz mode feels as smooth to me as the 90hz mode on Quest 3, I can't tell a difference. Most Beyond owners I know also run on 75hz mode.

I don't care about VRC and face tracking is really useless but eye tracking can be really useful for eye foveated rendering.
The dudes at Hello Games managed to implement a version of it for No Man's Sky on the PSVR2 and the results is really astonishing for such a low powered system.
I'm not really a fan of slapping 2k$ every few years to get the best GPU to solve all framerate problems in my games, and with the newer panels becoming so high res I feel like foveated rendering is gonna be needed since it's not realistic to render full res 8K images just so it looks nice on your new headset.

Being able to track 100% accurately what you're looking at, what it is, where you are, and what your exact facial expression is (i.e. how you're feeling at that moment)? I would say objectively that the experience is rather underwhelming and messy. The vr headset adds weight to your head that you can really feel when moving. This is another reason why proper weight balancing of headsets is important. Quest users must be experiencing whiplash and Index users have to buy replacement cables from stepping on them and turning around so much.

That multi modal tracking mode for Q3 looks sick. If the cameras can track your upper torso without seeing your hands, it gets a good enough estimations of where they are. Same with legs, and then you can slap your controllers on your feets and get "FBT" with hand tracking+torso tracking from the cameras.

Sony closed London Studio, developers of the the PSVR1 launch game/collection of tech demos (VR Worlds) and Blood & Truth, one of the decent exclusive PSVR1 games. After Blood & Truth they made a literal movie game with FMV, and last year announced that they were making a multiplayer game, probably as part of Sony's live service push.

They were definitely on the chopping block sooner or later, but it's baffling how Sony still went ahead with making PSVR2 only to have a single internal studio produce games for it, Firesprite with Horizon VR. London Studio proved themselves capable with Blood & Truth, despite the shitty Move controllers. Why wouldn't you invest in them? Instead they made them work on something that was bound to flop, then shut them down.

Sony is one of the most mismanaged companies ever, they just fired staff from basically all of their development studios (even the big names like Naughty Dog) because the higher ups decided to force every studio they had to develop live service games that went fucking nowhere and all got cancelled

I'm frankly fucking surprised PSVR2 even exists, there's no clear plan on what it even offers to customers apart from Capcom buoying it with RE VR ports

The PCVR tease they made may as well be the death knell for the thing having anything worthwhile or unique about it, now it'll just be a decent but overpriced PCVR headset

It won't be long until a product in a sunglasses form factor can do most of what normalfags might want from AR. The real world will be tinted by the lenses but that's still probably preferable to the cost, weight and heat from high quality video-passthrough.
Combined the XREAL glasses and Meta's Ray-Bans and you already have a product that normalfags might use for more than a week. When they finally get their shit together passthrough AR won't even stand a chance.

If you actually mean the grip and not the finger tracking, just gently pop the grips off with a guitar pick or pry tool and check to make sure the pads haven't come off. Don't have a picture of what mine looked like, but I circled what you need to check.
If they've slid off like mine did, gluing them back down should fix the problem, although you could replace them instead if you can find something one that's the right thickness.
You're going to have to replace the cable though, no easy fix there.
If you'd actually rather go Quest 3 or Quest Pro, might as well just sell off what you have instead of throwing more money at it.

>how long does the battery last and how much does a battery pack to make it last more than 6 hours in one go cost
>is a hybrid setup with vive trackers even necessary with quest gull body tracking and how much pain is a hybrid setup compared to native with index/vive headset

Does it have ZAS atmos simulation yet?
I mean the whole point of VR is radical immersive experiences and what's more immersive than having realistic gusts of wind blow you around if you're on a map with a snow storm, or have explosive decompression suck you out into the void if you're on a space ship map!
Can you implement a bay style medical system so we can perform surgery on other players?
VR immersion needs to be hardcore and making the VR immersive experience of chillout is a way to distinctly set it apart from VRChat.
I have much to say on this matter and you will be hearing more about it.

2 hours. 45$ for a battery pack that will get you 10+ hours. needs to have fast charge output.

>>is a hybrid setup with vive trackers even necessary with quest gull body tracking and how much pain is a hybrid setup compared to native with index/vive headset
yes you still need pucks and basestations. you will need one extra puck for continuous calibration.
With continuous calibration on the only pain is waiting after startup for everything the calibrate.

>>does vrchat support quest hand tracking without deliberately setting up your avatar for it

Upper-body tracking works much better than I thought it would with a Quest Pro. For hips and legs it's only estimations so don't expect any magic.
The Virtual Desktop discord mentions a config to combine it with hips+feet SteamVR trackers, I'll try that later.

It has been very painful for me, but I might not be the norm.
Also, I hear having a fourth tracker is ideal to run on your headset for continuous calibration so you don't have to do figure 8s every half hour or so to recalibrate.

EU Assetto Corsa: European Racing club, season 10!
Race 67.

19:00 UTC 20:00 CET, Monday 4th of March 2024.

GT2 at Monza, proper fucking racing.

1 hours practice
12 minutes qualifiers
10 laps race.

Afterwards some more drifting at Nikko.
Assetto - can be played with wheel, controller, or steam-vr-wheel addon, it doesn't matter, we will all have fun driving together. If you just bought Asseto - grab Assetto Corsa Content Manager - a better launcher and mod manager: https://assettocorsa.club/content-manager.html To install mods: just drag and drop zip files from mega onto the Content Manager windows and click on the hamburger menu on top right. Highly recommend installing stable custom shader patch and 7-zip plugin in Content manager.

I joined a JP ParaPara instance using Quest Pro upper-body "tracking" and hip+feet trackers and there I noticed the elbow position isn't that much better than with default VRChat IK. A shame. Also I really need to RMA my right controller because it overheats and loses tracking way too often.
Oh, this should have been obvious but you can't use it with Index controllers, pic related.

I grabbed a .pak from a guy on the flat2vr discord that supposedly fix the "squashed hands and weapons" and the UEVR setup was pretty easy as well. Most difficult was finding the weapon mesh and aligning the sights and the katana melee to hide it because the devs thought it was funny to have it permanently at your characters feet except when you swing it.
The base controls are really simple. Movement, crouch, jump, shoot, bullet time and a weapon wheel. You got walljumps/riding, crouchslides, shotgun jumps and probably more I'm not aware of. With the Head HMD camera movement it's really easy to do the bing bing wahoo mario jumping on walls since you simply tilt your head from wall to wall holding forward on the stick and tapping jump.

Did few games yesternight, it's generally fun and mostly bug free but obviously there's already kids running around, streamers and worst of all the graphics got questified hard or maybe the engine just can't really handle large continuous map like this. The LOD popin is absolutely insane, it's like watching Google street view loading when you zoom close. The gameplay itself is fine and surprisingly the game runs without any hiccups on standalone too but it's definitely not going to be a looker.

Just finished vampire the masquerade justice. Not that long of a game; I got 6 hours in it to beat it, plus about 1 of dicking around.
It's a good game but it feels short, like all VR games. The best part about it is that it feels like a real game, that people actually tried to develop and think about how things would work together. It's stealth/dishonored game in VR but a boiled down version of it. I had fun until the end. Only comments regarding longevity is that the challenges and the collectables are SO FUCKING HARD TO FIND AHHHHHHHHHHHHH so you can squeeze more playtime out of it being a completionist

First person games are insanely more immersive when you're actually seeing things and not looking at the world through a window, whether that's a horror game where you'll be scared shitless, action game where you feel like the hero, or something in between like Into The Radius where you really feel like a dude out of his depth at the start growing into the baddest thing in the zone. Shooting games are far more interesting when you have to worry about maintaining a sight picture and reloading manually vs just putting a crosshair somewhere. There only really unique puzzle game that I can think of was Last Clockwinder where it relied on you interacting with replays of yourself, but even something that could be done on flat like Fisherman's Tale is far more enjoyable when you're in the world. The porn actually kind of sucks, outside of things like VAM or VRChat. I don't think there's any real world studios which have done even a decent job at figuring out how to record first person porn, and 3rd person 3D shit isn't substantially better then flat.

Orbus got the VR mechanics down but proved that just mechanics don't mean shit if there's no content
Zenith got the content right but proved that you can't use the same exact grindy formula of flat MMO in VR
Vendetta Online is locked to Oculus headsets and targets autists that want EVE Online with HOTAS controls

If we stretch what MMO is, there's also Elite but that just proved that realistic scale of space doesn't make for a good MMO and Starfighter Infinity technically qualifies as MMO but VR is there mostly just for show since it still plays only on two axis.

I've made a reasonable assumption after that, turns out it was wrong. Tough luck. Probability wise it was worth a shot. Doesn't change the outcome of the original argument though.

If you always try to give positive energy, people want to be around you, if you only take energy they'll avoid you.

I feel like connecting with people is like siphoning gasoline. You kind of have to put some effort in at the start to prime the thing and get it flowing.

Also, it's kind of hard to blame anyone for forgetting about you if you change your look constantly and don't have a least a little visual continuity or theming for them to hang on to. Especially when you only really exist when you're in game, and whether schedules match up again is totally random.

Your aim should be to increase the probability of creating more great encounters, and trust that good will doesn't really degrade if you actually had a good time together.

I remember when we showed up and were getting lynched for our behaviour by the natives in less than an hour. Good times.
Looking at the blog posts it has been basically the climbing update 2 years ago and then nothing of note until the recent (this year) updates for small additions like safe area camp sites being added to the map. I heard something about building houses and farming but there's nothing about that on their website. I'm assuming this either means they just use discord for their devblog or unironically have been doing jack shit that entire time.

One the index is not extremely fragile, but it is fragile. Remove the earphones so they don't snap off. Bubblewrap + hard case to protect it is the minimum I'd do for transport. Don't take it on carry on, it's something you'd want to pack securely and put in stowed luggage.

My first 6 odd hours of doing VR
First I played the sister of battle game, as my first real VR visual the opening bit was pretty cool, once I got to the firing range I was excited to see the bolters felt powerful after how disapointing they were in necromunda hired gun, once I got to actual combat they became a little underwhelming again but it was still fun and still better than hired gun, climbing ladders was some jank shit though
but I did have to take the headset off every now and again from motion sickness and in the end I did vomit, gonna have to train myself up to that sort of game I think, then I played I expect you to die, didn't realize until I booted it it was a sit down game so the complete opposite of Battle Sister, should give me a nice progression from sit down to something in between to full action and walking around like Battle Sister (actually I think I might have done the first couple levels between bouts of Battle Sister). In between bouts of IEYTD I messed around with browsing the internet broth through steam and through the quest itself and looking at some stuff I had been wanting to check out and had a look at some VR porn, had trouble getting some stuff to work right but I mostly figured things out in the end,

I expect you to die is really really fun, I was worried the humor might turn out a bit "reddit" but they balanced it well, i'm up to what I assume is the final level on the train but I think i'm done for the night, Tomorrow I will probably try some things that involve a little more movement but in a less action packed way than Battle Sister, or some VR chat if I can end up finding time to do it with my friend into VR

while I was mostly playing on steam I did buy Keep Talking from the quest store since I would be playing that out in the lounge room, but then I realized I could have used the steam link thing for that since the lounge room is right next to the router, but I suppose at least this way I could potentially take it when I visit family or something, I suppose I do have the refund option I will consider that but I am leaning towards just learning from my mistake.

I wrote out a post about laying in bed looking up at a virtual screen watching anime while posting on 4chan on a screen below it but then I couldn't get the captcha after I put all that work into typing the post
I wonder if you could get a setup for using a wireless keyboard to type in VR, probably not in quest native but I don't see why I couldn't do it when running it through the PC, lot faster than a virtual keyboard and I can remember all the key placements without seeing them.

Amazons Quest app is surprisingly well put together although their selection of actual VR content is pretty lackluster, i'll check out the netflix one tomorrow but I don't expect it to be as good

find what the prefab is and import it
if you don't see anything wrong there's a chance it wasn't important, what were you trying to do?
Anonymous No.467637958 Replies: >>467651654
>>467634120
It's broken. Do it all again. Unironically, you can't fix that because the GUID is a reference to a specific instantiation of the prefab. Even if you reimport the same thing, it will be a new instance from Unity's perspective. Welcome to the worst implementation of Object Oriented Programming possible.

I recently started playing it again on a private server with another group and the game is in the exact same state it was 3 or 4 years ago when /vrg/ used to play it. actually, its worse because they made iron only spawn in the cave and no longer in the quarry up top and a lot of the bridges now require woods like birch that you can only get in the forest. this makes the early game grind so much more tedious that it filtered quite a few people in our server.

basically ever since the climbing update on pc, which was 3 years ago, the devs have been "updating" the game by adding new cosmetics to the store and rotating the old ones out. the quest version is the only one that gets actual dev time now and its only to try and bring it up to the same content level as pc. housing, farming, camp sites, etc. are all just bullshit the devs have been saying would be cool if they implemented, but never did.

one last thing, if you ever payed for a server, at some point they did a complete wipe of all servers.
those private servers are still up, including the one we all played on, and the people who payed for it still have admin power too.
its the reason why my group started playing it again this month.

>my baller backpack that I spend days making
