Does anyone use Voprx or Depth 3D here? I tried Fallout New Vegas and Sims 4 today with Depth 3d. (Some of my favorite games). The Sims was outright unplayable. New Vegas was playable but not perfect. Depth 3D gives you a large flat screen that you can zoom in to make immersive.

I wish there were more tools to convert 2d into VR content because ever since getting my Quest 3, I find 2d games unplayably bad. Like, I just can't get into playing on a monitor after playing VR after so many hours. It just gets super boring super fast.

This may sound weird but I really like web browsing or doing otherwise 2D stuff in vr rather than immersive experiences. I like 3D stuff too but they make me sick most of the time. However, just playing Paradox games like HOI4 in Virtual Desktop or watching regular non-vr porn is really good imo. I find VR porn to be extremely limited and not much greater than 2d alternatives.

That sounds like the worst possible game to play with VR controllers and if you're playing with keyboard + mouse you're not really gaining anything besides a lower resolution window, you're still stuck playing sitting next to your desktop. I get the watching 2D stuff while laying down part tho.

Also got mine today. Used it for an hour. It's so far okay. Definitely way better than the old cloth one in terms of holding the headset in the right place. The adjustment knobs are way easier than sliding around the cloth straps, and the open cell foam holds itself to your head instead of sliding around. It's rigid but still thin and flexible enough that I could relax laying down in it, better than the fat index back strap.

I'm not sure about the actual headphones. They don't sound awful, but I think I prefer the sound of the index speakers, or even those chink earbuds I was using. The strap holds them slightly off your ears but still close enough you can feel the foam brush your skin, rather than completely away like the index. Slightly annoying but not uncomfortable. The rest of the build quality of the strap feels fine; it does look and feel "flimsy" but I actually consider that a plus, no artificial metal weight to make it feel premium. OTOH it's probably about the same to any random cheap quest strap and 3d print adapters for, so I don't know if the ofificial strap is actually worth it at this point. Worth not canceling your preorder though. high praise.

At this point I've also replaced the gasket and a mm smaller IPD headset. It's definitely better than it was; nice and clear in both eyes at the same time. if you have one and think it's uncomfortable, complain to support until they let you have another free replacement gasket and try a different IPD.

I guess it's also worth mentioning the headphones are permanently attached to the rest of the strap; you can't unscrew them like the index speakers. Which could've been nice to get the comfort of the strap swapping for some better headphones. Though again at that point, might as well 3d print an adapter for a quest strap instead.

At the very least it's worth not having to deal with the chink earbud cord tangling anymore.

I got rid of the friend group that I had for 8 years, I will be trying to find a new friend group in vrchat soon that I will probably just ditch after a year. I have learned VRchat friend groups just don't last. I will just jump from friend group to friend group til I die at this point. Quest 3 users how bad is the tracking loss? Thinking about getting pro controllers to go with them but the reviews are filled with people saying they just fail to update or refuse to pair and just brick instantly. I also hear they turn off or go into standby in about 10 seconds of being stationary which sounds like complete cancer.

Natively? No.
You can do hybrid with Continuous Calibration and a Tracker on your headset.
I don't know how good it is personally as I just use the Quest controllers, but FBT works great and for other people who do what you ask, they have no issues.
Worst case you can just quickly recalibrate by looking up/down left/right via the Space calibrator, only takes a few seconds.

Remember, Chorketowne 3 is on the 26th, not the 12th.

I would say its easier to take off/put on than the soft strap but you do have to mess a bit with the earphones as they collide with your ears if you're just lowering the strap by the joint to put it back on; not the end of the world
doesn't seem to add too much weight overall which is good for keeping the overall package feeling lightweight

I think the meta "pc" store is deprecated since 95%+ of their userbase is on quest now. They've got no incentive to maintain or sell games to the few die hards with Rift S that only probably play the same game for 5 years.

It doesn't fix the softlocks with Far Harbor or Automatron, or the missing meshes/materials in Far Harbor. Sadly Arthmoor is a legendary cunt who actively designs his patch to not work with VR. I think that the unofficial patch with Skyrim VR is OK at this point. But for Fallout 4 the unofficial patch and its addons shouldn't be used at all unless you play the flat version. Even then it's very optional as mods don't rely on it at all.

i guess i stepped on my index controller one day or something because the adjustable strap part broke on the inside and it was just loose and pieces were falling into the joystick part making the joystick lock up so i had to pop off that circular face plate thing and unscrew what was left on the strap part so i could take it out and removed some other broken pieces
so now it doesnt have a strap but it still works fine

Over long distances yeah it's fucking retarded. Especially with a cable. Otherwise I use it a fair bit to do some exaggerated awkward walk away or maneuver around people that are blocking doorways. It's fun.

I feel like every games get vr scale and movement speed wrong when walking.
I walk irl it takes 4 step to cross my playspace, the same distance walked in the game are ridiculously small.
I played a bit of tea for god on a 3x3 playspace and the room generation was still abysmally small.
There should be a setting somewhere to set a multiplier to your headset movement.
