Only 23 days. More info on hats will be coming out in a week or a week and a half.
TL;DR: Udon 2 is fucked.

Depends on how complete it was, but it definitely would've been better if he was around to finish it.Whole situation sounds like a mess from both sides honestly.

These people just can't stop shooting themselves in the foot. I bet they got overtaken by a Karen HR sprawl and stopped being a software company.
They went from not caring about the community creators because they were retarded, to not caring because they aren't their main business partners
Threadly Dirt Rally 2.0 reminder, we're currently running 2000cc in Germany.
Event runs through the Monday after next (4/15), so you'll have plenty of time to get some practice in if you need it.
Club link is in the OP rentry if you're interested.
Running some pre-war cars at the 1938 version of Donnington Park in Assetto Corsa tonight at 8PM EDT (a little over an hour from now).
Car list is in pic related.

Every paragraph there a "I was rude" or "I yelled at my manager".
It's kinda sad the dude was probably one of the only people actually working, but yeah, you can't do that. It's from his point of view too so the level to which he was rude is probably understated.

Lookin' good, Yuru! (Jokingly, please do not ban me)
Theres often so much debate on which is the superior race of VRG, how can we finally solve this once and for all?
Thats right, its time for the
:: VRG Race War ::
What is this?
Six races will send out representatives of their team to participate in glorious minigame combat to earn points, the winning clan will earn the title of the superior race.Demons have been replaced with the minority etc team sorry demons
Theme:
Gladitory arena turned into a graffiti'd slum
There will be assets attached to later posts so you can show your racial pride or hatred toward others.
Signs and slogans will be encouraged.
When?
It will be my first map and event so please be patient with me.
Ideal starting date will be after the NL meet concludes, early to mid May.
This will be an NA event unless there is an EU who would like to host and run it for that timezone.
The Team captains / staff have been picked and locked.
If you have any pro/anti graffiti or posters for any races you'd like added to the map please post them here or DM them toIvana Dai
I'll see you on the battlefield.

It's fucking insane that companies value "being polite" over "actually being one of the few people to actually get shit done"
How does polite make the number go up faster than actually producing things?
>>472132787
Unironically it’s about control. They value submission even higher than profits.
>nooooo don't be mean to your superiors :(((((
>it was BOTH sides!!! :(((((
>reeeeeee
/vrg/ins are chiming in on what a burnout is and the kind of language that someone with severe symptoms of one is using when felt cornered.
>>472132942
Not control, the correct term is authority. Very easy to get addicted to.
with all the shitposting in the end of the last thread, probably nobody saw it so I'm just going to post once more; NA anime at 10 pm est in vrchat

Welcome to the modus operandi of modern western countries. Make sure to respect the pronouns.

Far right is passable but only as an unfortunate looking woman. Far left is clearly putting a lot of work in so honorable mention to xhem.
actually maybe it's time for an honest to god boycott. it happened over the EAC debacle but that was mostly upset users
if creators themselves pulled out for a while and stopped giving the game content to thrive, it might light a fire under their butts to do better.
Things I think might help:
- Ceasing high-profile community events
- Pulling worlds offline (either deleting or privating them until a resposne is provided)
- Privating public avatars
- Asking for an official response
- A document outlining issues the creator community has

>>472131048
The manager is an Ass kissing socialite. No good boss would fire a good employee from a few rude letters. VRchat is rotten and the parasitic bearucracy social class has wormed its way in too deep that they have the power to remove the people who actually are building and designing the castle.
He deserved it
>>472137132
>worked himself into a burnout
when he wanted 2 month of vacations (something that seems normal and fine in VRC devs circles) it was denied and shortened to 2 weeks because they wanted him to continue the pace he showed.
Also, the issue with the manager was resolved (according to manager) but it was constantly brought up again.
But yeah, keep sucking that vrc dick and keep that vrc+ sub up!
>>472136807
I'd love to move to cvr, not just out of spite for vrchat or anything but because I actually think it's good. Over something this small, nothing will happen

>>472137613

>>472131975

That’s what happens when you hire enough people who do not know gow to do work. The people who do know how to produce gets irritated.
The bearucracy type people who wormed their way in to the job by being “polite” and a total smoozeball are a big problem in any industry going big.
This is the first glimpse of what the famous line from steve jobs have stated about xerox.

In smaller tech companies it's often a conflict of interest between fundraising and product design. They're eager to keep expanding but usually not profitable yet so the finance and marketing types steadily gain influence over the company culture and direction of the product in order to acquire additional funding.

I'd kick a fuss too if my company made me work over christmas break while they enjoy time with their family
I wonder if Ron left because of this he just didn't try to fight back like Merlin did
Ron saw and felt the steady encroachment of socialites who don't know how to do work into the company
>>472142114
>I wonder if Ron left because of this he just didn't try to fight back like Merlin did
Ron was always the worst part of VRChat leadership next to VR Pill so I don't know how you came to that conclusion. If anything he would have been one of the dudebros approving his firing.
vineauce vinny did a VR Chat music video and it's dope. https://youtu.be/ZUg4WmEKeDM?si=ZBBFDh1YMCQhZUWk&t=7134

He was the CCO
>>472131975
or maybe hes just self aware that he wasn't reacting the best he could have in hindsight and doesnt want to pretend he was perfect by downplaying his own problems.
Unless you think his manager and other leadership are being paid somehow even less than him, they are being paid to figure out how to work with useful but autistic employees so those people can actually let their autism get good work done in spite of their social skills.
>>472142913
Oh wtf. I was wrong about my information then. I thought he was one of the OG programmers
>>472142974
This. The manager is a failure
And the higher ups are even more of a fuck up for siding with the manager here when they literally had Merlin work his ass off during weekends, holidays and even christmas break while they snooze.

Its actually good that they fire capable people. This way this games developement sill get stuck and they have fewer chances of messing more things up!
>>472144973
It's kinda sad that the pattern always fucking happens. It's depressing even
Every facing time when something gets successful thanks to the work of some autists building it. They get chucked out by newer hires that only know how to socialize.
I hate to see it but it's a pattern as old as companies itself.

What's a good web browser for the Quest 3? I've tried Wolvic but I want something that works as an app I can have side-by-side with other shit.
Do sideloaded apk browsers work fine?
Also, what the fuck is Udon 2?
Lurk more, newfag.
>>472202510
UDON 2 is vrchat coding
Does anyone know if there's a way to just buy the three battery banks for full body? Everything wants me to buy it in a bundle with other straps but I already have some. Do I just buy new straps?
>>472202510
>web browser for the Quest 3?
the default browser that is basically chrome, wolvic is firefox
>>472202894
Huh? Most commerical battery banks have the batteries themselves integrated into the straps so they're one and the same.
If you want a cheaper, possibly better solution, try getting some fitness straps and then zip-tie regular battery banks (like the cylinder ones) to them, and use short microusb cables. You can even find coiled microusb cables.
>>472202510
>Also, what the fuck is Udon 2?
VRChat "coding language", it's supposed to be a big update to VRChat and Udon 1 which is spaghetti code pile of shit.
>>472203218
Oh and an important detail I forgot: Then strap the fitness strap to your ANKLE or attach the bank to your belt strap.
The battery weight then goes on the ankle and not the foot which actually is way better.
>>472202920
My problem with the default one is that it doesn't have a "Desktop mode" (it doesn't spoof the browser user-agent to get the website to give you a desktop layout instead of the mobile version).
I'm aware the default one is chrome-based and Wolvic is firefox but that feature is engine-agnostic.
Desktop mode is useful to get around DRM so I can fucking watch my footy on the big screen.
I'll try sideloading some browsers next.
>>472203768
I should mention Wolvic has that feature but I don't like how it isn't a floating app like the default browser (or maybe it does, I didn't look too deeply into the settings)
leaked final chapter of berserk
Good afternoon ladies(male) and gentlemen! LOCO Thursday is back again for another healthy round of discussing how much you hate people a little bit more senior than you at your workplace!

>>472212095
>i hate the daylight savings system so much it's unreal
Just keep using UTC then, no? Imagine falling for timezone meme.
>>472212271
Well using UTC+1 is still using UTC, just putting the offset in. If you're UTC+2, you just have to cope with the hard mathematics.
>>472213175
Buckbroken wageslave mentality. You are living on the internet, just use UTC everywhere instead of screaming "MUH TIMEZONES".
It's not like you live on a farm, timezones have literally no purpose.
I have my PC's clock is set to UTC for many years at this and I will never go back.
>>472212095
Are you sure it's 19:30 UTC+1? That would make it 18:30 at london time which is 1 hour sooner than usual.
Anyway I have forced mandatory fun at company today so I'll be on but I will be on a little later than usual.
>>472213568
Well it is the buckbroken wageslave meet
>>472213671
London time changed to UTC+1
>>472213568
>I have my PC's clock set to UTC for many years at this point and I will never go back.
>>472213568
I think the only part of using the same international timezone everywhere would be when the day starts. Otherwise I'd be fine with just using a different number for whatever time of day; they're already multiple hours off in many timezones.
>>472212095
>>472213671
>>472213705
Actually I don't even know if the UTC+1 thing is true, daylight savings has fucked me up so hard, I think you were correct after all
Just list the time in raw UTC and I'll go from there
>>472214052
UTC everywhere is just so convenient. Everything is consistent, you learn how to translate your particular location to UTC and you are set. No unnecessary confusion is created.
This mindless fixation on an outdated concept really reminds me of ameriacans with their feet and inches, it's stupid, we europeans should really know better.
>>472214356
If you live in london right now, 7:30PM will be 19:30 UTC+1
>>472214474
>my timezone is UTC+3
>this time is in UTC+1
>I will need to add 2 to the displayed time to convert it
I know this is very difficult to do, especially without a calculator, but I believe in you anon
>>472214614
Why it is necessary in the first place? Answer the question.
>>472214681
Because of how the earth works, people are exposed to the sun at different UTC times
>>472214480
Ok thx
>>472214840
You don't live on a farm. And it's also not consistent, the sun rises everyday at a different time.
Also, we live in the age of the internet, with whole world only 200ms away from you max. It's better to just have one timezone.
Just consider UTC the time of the internet and adjust accordingly. Nothing needs to be changed multiple times per year, everything is consistent, no unnecessary confusion is created. Stop being buckbroken.
>>472215269
Unfortunately people have to deal with this thing called the real world, normies all operate on local times. If everyone agreed to make the switch it would solve so many issues so quickly.
>>472215269
The change would require changing the time in every timezone all at once. You'd need to get billions of people to all get used to waking up at 2am because that's what time the sun rises.
And you swap one problem for another; if I say that I wake up at 1am, you have no fucking idea what time of day that is for me. There's also many business extrapolations of this that will end up making it more difficult; and so I'll have to say even MORE information whenever I say a time. Inter-timezone references are much rarer than intra-timezone references so you're asking to change 99% of time references because of the 1% case because you don't want to add or subtract a number under 12.
>>472215562
Looks like it's time for a new time standard for the web, which is rough location+time.
>>472215653
Yeah you could specify the location someone is at with a little number after the timezone; for example if they were in london under DST you'd say they were "UTC+1"
>>472215562
Just have two clocks:
1. UTC
2. Your local timezone.
You use the UTC when you are on the internet, which allows you to have a common point of reference with everyone else.
>>472215808
Thanks, that is indeed the joke.
>>472215863
>JUST HAVE TWO CLOCKS

>>472216706
delusional, one step away from correcting someone about your pronouns
I don't need to tell you to do anything, you're already on the path
I think we can all agree daylight savings time serves no useful purpose in the modern world. Literally the only argument I've ever heard in favour of it is 'muh kids walking to school in the dark in polar regions' or some shit. Just move the school hours for a few months if it's that bad.
>>472216825
What an ironic projection coming from a "my timezones are BST/UTC+1" troon.
I'm going to keep using EST. I'm just gonna use it haha
>>472216806
>Might do in the future however listing in pure UTC requires the user to do math, whereas someone can simply Google "19:30 UTC+1 to local time" and always get the correct answer.
They can say just "18:30 UTC to local time". That +1 is only there because picrelated of this thread can't do simple math and trying to force everyone to use their timezone instead.
>>472218060
Anon, all of europe shifted +1 at the same time. It's literally more convenient to shift too because then other euros need to do LESS maths.

WHY ARE YOU THIS BORED
>>472219004
Because this retarded propagation of confusion for no reason every 6 months pisses me. It should be as localized as possible.
Literally just use UTC. It's fucking simple. But paki fags are unable to do math, so we have this stupid fight every time.
just use UTC for everything, its simple
dates in ISO standard too (2024-04-04)
It's always the fuckin' brits
I don't care what timezone we use, I'd just rather not have the problem of the last 5 years where there's always people missing things because they've done the conversion wrong.
>>472220605
The confusion is created because of timezone fuckery.
Always using UTC solves that problem, because it consistent and doesn't change.
>>472216806
Google deals extremely well with 19:30 UTC, but fucks up completely with "19:30 UTC+1"
Posting just "19:30 UTC" is the most simple convertable thing.

I will just keep using GMT, m'kay. This Friday, 7PM GMT, Q3A deathmatch again. To play in VR you will need Quest or Pico and install Q3A port from Sidequest. Only retail Q3A PAKs are needed, no Team Arena.
Server is in Frankfurt, change your autoexec.cfg:
seta server1 "45.147.228.101:27960"
seta password "1488"
And bind "weapon 1" to something for gauntlet duels.
Rotation is The Top Peg. If you don't want to wait for server you can download it here:

>But I want to be an anime grill in VR!
There's old pack of anime models you can use, grab it here if you want to chii, just drop the files in baseq3 directory:
https://files.catbox.moe/6az4wd.7z
We'll use Mumble for voice, voice.vrg.party as usual, sideload Mumla to your HMD and DISABLE UDP and enable background audio in Quest experimental settings.
New frag movie is here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4N6iTBCiDGk
If you still have Mumble problems:
Download this sketchy APK and sideload it: https://github.com/threethan/QuestAudioPatcher
Follow the tutorial, select Mumla, allow QAP to uninstall Mumla, then allow it to install the patched Mumla.

Hi, since today is the first Thursday of the month, it's time for the "Monthly Board Game".
As usual, the session will be at 22:30CET/20:30UTC (~3h30 from now)
(You) will have to choose between:

The traditional japanese matching card games with a floral theme. (rules: https://www.gamedesign.jp/flash/hanafuda/rule_e.html, world: https://vrchat.com/home/world/wrld_dee398c7-74cf-4a1b-9706-eb638a4bede8)

> Seven Vice

why does steamvr not give you an option to view your desktop in fucking SBS
also the new steamVR update fucked up how you used to be able to ajust the volume with a single trigger press and moving left or right, now you have to click, click again then move left or right, it feels like a downgrade for this reason alone if not for them FINALLY letting the menu pop up in front of you with variability on the vertical axis instead of being stuck on a horizontal plane
I'm new to vr (bought quest 3) a month ago and I tried to play hl 2 mod on my old pc (GTX 1070) using ALVR since I'm on linux, however the frame rate sucks which is a shame since I wanted to play other pcvr games :(

I just got this router for its 6E capabilities and wow, PCVR with the Quest 3 now is like night and day compared to my old router. Before, I’d often experience stuttering during peak hours even when I was right next to my router because I live in a cuckbox apartment where everyone and their dog is shouting into the 5GHz band. 6GHz, however, is still basically empty at this point, especially with the average normie who only uses the router provided by their ISP. I get buttery smooth, almost latency free performance at godly settings and max bitrate in Virtual Desktop, even when the headset is in a different room from the computer.

question for anons with slimes, what's the limit for VRC? From what I could gather it's 8 but it's a bit weird, slime thighs and ankles combine into knees in VRC, while ankles with knee extensions count as feet
so slimes chest - waist+hip + arms x2 - thighs x2 + ankles+feet x2 would get translated to chest - hip - elbows 2x - knees x2 - feet x2 in VRC
am getting this right
>>472318920
Seeing a good shot is the same effect as just knowing the meta for the course. There's two main skills to golf; and that's the technical skill of putting the ball where you want, and then there's knowing where to put the ball. Knowing where to put the ball can come from experience with the hole, and so levelling out experience evens the playing field.

Why a simple webcam to pose full body tracking is so underexplored?
We are literally throwing AI at everything these days, it's kind of weird nobody tried to seriously solve the FBT problem with it.
>>472349638
You mean kinect tracking?
It sucks
>>472349638
kinect fbt has been a thing for years, its not great
>>472349638
Because its shit, too slow and inaccurate
>>472349696
>>472349745
>>472349752
Not kinect, neural networks with a simple webcam.
I believe it's only shit because we are using 10+ year old software.
And it's not that hard to create the perfect environment for it. Stationary camera with IR filter removed, plus IR flood light.
I bet the people would be willing to wear a qrcode tshirt even.
The problem really seems solvable, but nobody is trying. At the very least things like tranny slimes should be beatable 100%.
>>472350328
You can get near perfect tracking with several Kinects that cover enough angles. But just like basestations, turns out most people don't want to attach shit to their walls and have cables all over the place to twerk in VR.
>>472349967
still too slow to run in realtime on top of other software
>>472351390
A single cam should be enough. Kinect is too high latency.
Look at this shit for example, I don't know how well it performs, but it's only 3mb and only takes 1ms on a fucking phone.
Make the model 100mb and let it run on a proper desktop GPU, and you should be able to get close to perfect body tracking.
We already have diy eyetracking kits sending low latency camera feed to PC, it can be easily repurposed.
>>472351928
I don't believe it's a fundamental limitation. It's 1ms on a phone.
Zucc must run something similar on Q3 for pose estimation, but their problem is much harder, a stationary camera should make it a lot easier.
>>472351390
Kinect uses tonnes of USB bandwith, and cpu.
Camera only tracking is slow - at most at camera fps. Depth estimation is horrible. AI skeletonization is not stable, its not accurate, especially in Z axis. It doesnt properly track rotations. It only looks good as a skelleton overlay on top of low resolution video. Additionally you need to calibrate the camera fov/distortion and align the tracking spaces, which is not trivial.
Nevertheless HTC seems to be trying to use singular Vive Ultimate Tracker to do FBT. The camera calibration is already known, and location of the camera is known in the relation of VR headset. They had a twitter post about it, but I cant find it.
>>472349967
Oculus were working on that a few years ago. I think it just turned into the body tracking capabilities of whatever Quest headset does that.
>>472350328
There was a webcam based FBT that used QR codes stuck all over the body. It sucked and the QR codes are only slightly more convenient than tranny tracker straps.
Meta are probably the most capable of creating a decent single station camera + depth sensor FBT. They had a version of their pose estimation that covered the full body if the room had a large mirror, if they can do that from a moving headset they can do it from a stationary box.
LOOK AT THIS SHIT
RUNS ON A FUCKING PHONE
>>472353485
>you can see how inacurate it is even on this video.
It is extremely jarring, when your hip or hand starts to gyrate or spazz out
Actually, it should be quite easy to make a quick demo.
Use a webcam, https://github.com/google/mediapipe to recognize body and then send hips/feet as OSC trackers https://docs.vrchat.com/docs/osc-trackers
VRChat has minimal aligment of free-floating tracker data, assuming it's on a person. The only limitation is that you should send tracker data in meters.
Now I'm convinced that we don't have it only because nobody bothered to implement it.
>>472353840
The video is the stress test. And you going to use it together with traditional "perfectly tracked" HMD and controllers anyway. And that's the general model, it can easily be refined and made more accurate if you fit it for the actual environment. People could even be able to create equivalent of LoRA's for their particular room if they are willing to train locally.
>>472350328
Don't know what they use in the Quest 3 but the hand tracking and upper body tracking is really good for what it is. Finger tracking latency is more than good enough.
I really could see the tech used with external cameras mounted to the 4 corners of a room to keep an accurate representation of your skeleton without having to strap trackers on.
>>472353485
what's the proof that some guy in video editing software didnt just keyframe the skeleton in afterwards and this is all bullshit?
>>472355945
because it's freely available as mediapipe framework and it spazzes out if you look closely
Protip: the depth of these tracking points is all wack
The bandwidth requirement is miniscule. 256x256x3 times Camera refreshrate.
You can downscale on device and send only the result. The eyetracking dyi does that already basically, not sure about downscaling though, so it might be even easier in our case.
>>472355945
The models are available. Theoretically we should be able to just test it.
>>472356204
>Protip: the depth of these tracking points is all wack
Solvable even with the standard model. Use multiple cameras and then "inverse the projection" for lack of a better term.
>>472356580
>Use multiple cameras and then "inverse the projection" for lack of a better term.
Yep, a simple ray intersect from the camera views gets you the position if depth is incorrect but everything else is fine.
>>472356580
>The bandwidth requirement is miniscule. 256x256x3 times Camera refreshrate.
You will not get any good tracking accuracy at that resolution lol

>>472360771
>>472359523

>>472360771
256x256 is lot of data.
And the model works, at least somewhat, so I'm inclined to believe that it might be enough.
Theoretically, increasing the camera feed resolution should help, but at some point you will start hitting diminishing returns. I don't know where that point is exactly, neither do you, but I don't think it's that high personally.
>>472361286
>>256x256 is lot of data.
No, it's not. Especially for not having depth data. You're going to get lots of jitter where the image processing tries to guess where your joints are. It may not be noticeable in that 256x256 image at 1:1 scale but it's sure as fuck going to be noticeable at life-sized scales in VR. Even small amounts of tracker jitter can cause issues.
>>472361661
>Especially for not having depth data
I just explained to you how to solve it. It's a trivial problem with 2 camera feeds. A simple ray intersect check and you get the point in 3d.
The model is lightweight enough to run inference twice, especially when everything is already in memory.
And the bar is not that high, just beating tranny slimes would already be a win. And that's doable imo.
What's the best replacement face gasket for Index? Mine is falling apart and I thought maybe those other designs on Amazon might be better.

I've done a decent amount of work on optical pose tracking, including with mediapipe so I'll chime in here. A major challenge with using these models for VR tracking is essentially consistency. If you take any single frame of a video with a 2d pose tracking model applied to it, you'd get an output that makes you think "hey, that's pretty good. All of the keypoints are on the right body part." But compare that to another set of frames from a slightly different angle. Sure, the evaluated keypoint is still on the wrist. But is it on the same part of the wrist? Or is it a few cm away from where it was?
VR, by its nature, has very demanding requirements for precision and consistency, and deviations are extremely noticeable. Post-processing smoothing can be applied, which mitigates some of the jitter issues at the cost of latency, but ultimately does not really address the root issue. Alternatively, a user-side smoothing effect can be implemented by applying several shots of vodka to the evaluator.
>>472362038
>A simple ray intersect check and you get the point in 3d
This is indeed very simple if you assume that you have two views which will reliably be able to independently point to the same location in space as each other. This is unfortunately not the case. Body parts are not a uniform sphere which appear the same from every angle and can easily have a centerpoint identified. Basically, views from different angles will almost never actually be able to get 2d points which correspond to the same 3d point. This makes getting a 3d point from simple ray projection very unreliable. There are some more sophisticated approaches to the problem, but they are ultimately not full solutions.

>This is indeed very simple if you assume that you have two views which will reliably be able to independently point to the same location in space as each other. This is unfortunately not the case.
I've realized that after thinking more about it in the meantime. But do we really need precise points even?
Maybe just an additional source of plausible input for IK is enough.
We have a pretty specific problem here, by limiting the scope we might be able to solve it. We do have 3 points of input that we can trust with HMD and controllers.
I will definitely take a look at the survey.
Has anyone tried feeding multiple feeds to the neural network and training it like that btw? And what about computer generated source of training data (3dcg basically), does it work?

But you can see the latency...
HTC is working on it it seems. VUT have a calibrated stereocamera, VUT knows where it is in relation to the HMD.
>>472384156
>latency
Might be exaggerated by the garbage TV. Compare the feed between laptop and the TV at 0:09-0:10. You can see the arm is behind by 2+ frames.
Have to wonder how much latency comes from smoothing and how low can you actually get with perfect hardware.
>>472385308
Well, the model most likely runs in 1-2 ms. But, most definitely to get useable results you need smoothing. SO you have a trade-off between latency and spazziness.
>>472379137
Server eating shit, it's doomed. Thanks for coming anyway, ggs.
>>472385895
But how many frames do you actually need for it?
Right now it looks something like 200ms latency. Assuming 60hz camera (low bar honestly), that's 10+ frames of smoothing. That's just too much.

my takes, marshal > mylee > golfy
marshal is just a solid choice 95% of the time. wide range without much move spam. his hand holding makes it easy to learn the dance. I would put TML up there with marshal even though they seem to have like 20 moves total in their playbook, it makes them easy to learn even if they are somewhat intense.
mylee is fun because she does lots of high intensity stuff without being move spam but thats also her downfall for me since she will throw in some try hard, on-the-floor twerking session or shuffling or some other shit thats not fun in VR (but is fun to watch other people try).
golfy has come a long way in his newer stuff, imo. they are fun to dance to while not being spammy. His older stuff tends to be more showy, fag-sexy, kpop choreography. stuff made to look good for music videos (also uncomfortable because he looks 12 in his old videos).
I would put most of the kawaii jp dancers in the move spam category where you just do what you can keep up, and its a good workout but you dont really learn anything unless you do it a hundred times.
tml clones are decent but mostly just worse versions of tml
just dance is too varied to place, but usually a solid choice.

just because I use a female avatar doesn't mean I want to chop my penis off
Whuh-oh, blogpost
I've owned a quest 2 for a while now and I think VR is cool. At the same time I mostly only use it for sim driving practice these days just in case I can ever afford a track car
But like, have things gotten better? Beat saber and superhot are still cool as hell, but they're also ancient. I played cooking simulator for all of 40 minutes before I couldn't deal with the lack of feedback for the knife. Obviously not much can be done to fix that, but a lot of stuff feels more like tech demos than games at times (to me)
I think fps games would be cool if I could actually whip my head around to look, but you know, heavy. Bigscreen seems to have a really cool solution regarding that but I dunno if it's worth the upgrade cost considering my current uses
There's other games I wanna try out like NMS but I'm starting to wonder if VR just isn't for me, or maybe I'm just looking for the wrong experience? I wish I wasn't such a hiki-neet cause even shit like talking to other people in vrchat sounds like it would stress me out even though I'm super interested in it. Like the social aspect of VR is really huge and I'm just too pussy to go talk to people lol
I haven't really kept up with the VR space for a long time but are things developing in any sort of forward direction?
>>472460001
Name 6
>>472460069
If you can't move your head around to look at shit at a reasonable speed in an FPS because of your headset, you need to tighten your strap. While the Beyond's weight is neat, the only real thing that should be holding you back from whipping your head around would be a cable, which you don't have, or a lack of space. There's also a plethora of good single player VR games, though they're largely flat2VR ports but with some that are clear homages but at least a new game like Into the Radius being not!Stalker. Go pirate some of the FPS games, or play the HL2VR mods, and you'll realize that unlike a mouse and screen, you aren't jerking your head all over the place because you can look at things with your peripheral vision while staying pointed at where you're focused.
>>472460001
trannies in /vrg/ are a minority. as another anon said female avatar does not equal wanting to cut off your cock.
>>472460069
god damn nigger space out your paragraphs.
to answer your question, VR software is in a bad state right now. VRChat is still the most popular VR game by a long mile so I'd say try it out even as a mute and see if it's for you.
in terms of VR hardware, yes there's been quite a few good headsets coming out that surpass quest 2 easily.
bigscreen beyond is good but i can not recommend you spend $1000 for a headset on a hobby you're not really enjoying because of reasons other than the headset.
>>472460753
also to add to
>VRChat is still the most popular VR game by a long mile so I'd say try it out even as a mute and see if it's for you.
you should join /vrg/ instances if you can, you will have a miserable experience if you just hop around public worlds.
>>472460364
>need to tighten your strap
Yea I still have the default strap so I'm def slightly cucked there lmfao... I guess you are right that it would be weird to sling my head around considering I loved superhot which definitely requires a lot of looking, even if I technically had as much time as needed to do so
Thanks for all the recs too! I'll def check out the flat2VR games in the rentry and borrow a few fps games. HL2VR also sounds super cool too so I think I'll try that first
Thanks fren

Ur right that I might as well try out vrc with no mic tho since it does sound pretty fun to wander around and take in the sights/people watch

>>472460957

>>472461290
Yeah, use paragraphs it's reddit spacing. Don't and it's badly spaced. Can't win.
Anyway; Into the Radius is a great game, HL2VR is great, Alyx should be played if you haven't already, then there's some non fps games like walkabout mini golf, last clockwinder, the wanderer, vertigo 2 (oh wati that's fps), legendary tales, project wingman, no man's sky supports vr now but it's janky, no more rainbows is a great platformer, eleven table tennis is table tennis. Then the all time number one: Outer wilds VR mod. If you haven't played that game yet then drop everything you're doing and go play it in VR.
>>472461290
>Can't believe this is the first time I've been called out for not doing reddit spacing lel... Looks like you're on pc tho so it's probably aids to read, who am I to say
Reddit spacing usually refers to spacing out every single sentence, but yeah on PC it basically looks like wordswordswordswords that stretch across the entire monitor
>>472461527
Reddit spacing is a fucking retarded meme if it's just normal paragraph breaks. You can even look at the webm that people post to demonstrate Reddit spacing and see that actual Reddit spacing would involve three line breaks instead of just two as is normal, like this.
Also, people that accuse people of Reddit spacing are worthless subhumans who can be safely disregarded without reading further into their post because double line break paragraph spacing has been normal on 4chan and even older forums that preceded it because otherwise you end up with a wall of text.

It's a game you can only really do properly once; and people who played it flat missed out on the vr mode. VR is such a superior experience for that game. Good vr legs needed though. If you can handle hl2vr it will be fine though

I'm planning on fixing that next time I meet up him this summer so we can play minigolf and fish together.

Likely never ever at this point, even the Oculus PC version is now abandoned. Before complete edition release, when PC version still had full feature parity, devs made short announcement and apparently less than 1% of users played the PC build, there were more people still playing it on Oculus Go than on Rift.
It is very "dad and son" game and your average dad and son is more likely to just have pair of Q2 than pair of gaming PC.

Hi, friendly reminder that next ParaPara/Wotagei training session is today at 17:00CEST/15:00UTC/11:00EDT/2h from now ( or just double check the time here: https://www.timeanddate.com/countdown/generic?p0=195&iso=20240406T17&year=2024&month=04&day=06&hour=17&min=0&sec=0&msg=ParaPara70) in VRC (Wotagei is 1h30 later at 18:30CEST/16:30/UTC/12:30EDT/3h30 from now).
> Wait what is this?
This is a /vrg/ dancing group/club open to any anon. It is first and foremost a ParaPara (dance style for eurobeat) circle but is also open to other types of dancing, with the recent addition of Wotagei (dance style using lightsticks) as an activity.
The main goal is to actively learn those dance styles with eventual content made out of it, anyone is free to join no matter if they want to take it seriously or just as a fun thing. No issues with 3 pointers either!
More info here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1P-uVnC7m-oiuk6_d2quKzoCBsyeAXG5ww-48fMPVMLo/edit#heading=h.83e22ya6mivq
> What's planned this time for ParaPara?
Same as last time, we'll keep on training for BANDOLERO COMMANCHERO and slowly learn parts of GANGURO at the end of the session.
> What's planned this time for Wotagei?
This session will be fully dedicated to learn the Muramasa waza, then if we have time, a bit of training on the first song.
As usual, be it for ParaPara or Wotagei, newcomers are always welcome and we'll adapt the session depending on who joins.

It's actually only decent for Q2, it has no 160Mhz single channel support.
Are DIY VR controllers even remotely feasible with lighthouse tracking yet, or is it a case of "lol, lmao, spend 80 hours reading documentation and hacking together arduino shit that's 5 years out of date and no longer works". I've got a 2.0 tracker on an old PP gun that I want to make not shit. If you can do it now I might buy a 3.0 tracker too and glue it to an old light gun or something so I can tacticool swap between pistol and rifle.

no, mostly just looked at the VD discord for info
went for a cheapo one since pico 4 doesn't support 6E anyway
The real reason NA lobbies outside of VRC and Pavlov are dead is because it's always hoasted by one of the handful of anti-Discord people.
The reality of NA/vrg/ is if you don't shill it with discord pings, no one will come. If you want to play Vox, Hyper Dash, or Breachers, etc.. you will have to surrender your soul to discord.
There is no other way.
>>472512594
If you turned up to EU lobbies you'd know that people joining from discord make up the minority of the people there, if any.
It's not a discord problem it's a people not playing vr games problem
>>472512778
did I not specifically say NA. as in Not EU and not SEA? I do sneek into EU lobbies. It's comfy and feels like a real 4chan thing. You don't understand how bad NA has fallen.
>>472513932
True... But I'm taking my experience; it's not discord that drags EUs and SEAs into games
>>472512594
I'm not sure if even discord pings would help much. When it's just a random lobby where you didn't shill for a week in advance nobody even shows up like recently with Hyperdash. It almost feels like a clique problem, if you're hosting something and don't get a clique of people interested in playing you won't get much turnout. Unlike EU where they host relatively early at 1900UTC/2000CET and people just independantly show up to games they like.
It's almost hard to believe because NA is the primary VR market, NA has the most players and the peak time for all VR games is during NA hours yet interest here is dead.
Hosting earlier can help if you want to drag EUs into it but that dilutes the NA feel by making it harder for west coasters and it adds latency issues playing against EUs.

I don't think this is entirely true. I'm not really "anti-discord" and I have tried pinging in it before in advance for my lobbies, and it hasn't made any discernable difference. I don't think the people in the discord even read my pings. I think maybe part of the issue is that people are averse to joining lobbies that aren't hosted by someone in their clique, kind of similar but different to what the other anon suggested

There are some serious DIY projects using Tundra's HDK, but there have been a number of gunstocks utilizing the expansion pins on Vive/Tundra trackers to transmit button inputs.
Writing a SteamVR driver is pretty straight forward, and once you have it moving around you can pipe in controller inputs from wherever.
SteamVR does have a system for telling games where the grip position of the controller is, but /a lot/ of game developers are retarded and implement their own offsets per-controller type, and binding presets are controller-specific too, so you're best off emulating an existing controller rather than creating your own.
