After much code wrangling, I was able to get a somewhat usable Index touch pad and force grip in VRChat for inputs by reading the rotations of the fingers. Unfortunately, the touch pad vertical axis only moves thumb in the bottom half of the input. So I can only get half of the vertical touch pad. But I can work with that. Calibrating both the touch pad and force grip is tricky though. Its not as shrimple as recording max and mins. Right now the user kinda has to chase a good enough solution by going back and forth until it feels right, which sucks. And the calibration only works for one avatar. But good enough for some soda can squishing gimmicks. I'll post the gimmicks I do when I get around to making them.

if you grab it from your back, your guy just grabs it in the middle facing the wrong way for a javelin throw.
if you look at an enemy and just grab and release quickly it grabs it in javelin position and throws with auto-aim accuracy

axes are still great throwers though, or any weapon with +throwable or +throwing distance. I had a mace I could throw and it like slid across the floor and accelerated and just kept going

Tired of seeing desktoppers pretending to be human?
Need something to use when you're watching a movie but not getting into VR?
Want to turn instances into a game of prop hunt?
Now you can at the Furniture Event!

Saturday, 22nd of November 2025

Where:
VRChat, across multiple worlds.

What is it:
Similar format to the Fumo event, show up in a funny themed avatar, we go explore some thematic relevant worlds where the furniture would look funny (definitely some CSS maps), then prop hunt raid pugs and the like for shits and giggles.

What you should do:
Make an avatar centred around furniture!
Make a disguise for yourself by simply wearing a lampshade on your head.
Sit your fumo on a chair or sofa and add extra seat prefabs for people to plop themselves down.
Hide in the closet, then jump out of it!
Have a picture of yourself on a bedside stand or stuck to a mug.
Stick your head in a jar if you want to make it spooky or, even worse, in a toilet.

To help with this endeavour, I've exported a selection of Half Life 2 furniture into FBX format with PNG textures for ease of use and did some rudimentary sorting, including a folder of "Frames and Screens" that'll be useful for sticking your face on something. Thumbnails/Previews are JPGs with a "_t" suffix for easy sorting.

Get a base booth and upload it, that's your first tutorial to go through. Once you know how to do it, you can start playing around. Look for any extra clothing/module on booth, add it, if you'll do it successfully, now you're on the level where most anons operate through majority of the time. There's a lot of knowledge to acquire (even just on unity side, and then skill ceiling goes into infinity once you open blender), but for bare minimum, you really don't need much. As anon said, feel free to ask questions here, just google around before deciding to ask about something because most of the newbie questions are very well answered online and you can find it with minimal research.

I bought the Sony Inzone wireless buds with the usb dongle for low latency and I'm not happy with them. They sound worse than my Marshall wireless buds and the microphone is worse than the Quest's one. Yeah, it's still better than the Quest integrated headphones but not by much. Latency is good though. I wish smart watches would detect happy/sad/excited/depressed states, and then report it through some interface. Would Neural Bands + controller be the ultimate VR input? The Neural bands get you full *finger* tracking. Controllers get you the hand position and actual feedback with vibration and tactility. But the most important actions still having buttons assigned to them. One thing i don't like is how controllers get in the way of using your hands. They take up the entire palm. New hitman VR update fixed most physicality and controller issues. But broke HMD detection and render mask reading code. Quest 3 is fucked, half of the screen is garbage, on Vive Pro 2 left eye has garbage pixels in the perifery.

Still has that dynamic resolution and TAA which makes it look blurry in heavy scenes and have some ghosting...

Also, the game has zero DRM, so you can play online with a pirated version on either PCVR or standalone. Busy week in general. Was away until today, and tomorrow I will be away again the whole weekend. So decided to change magic to today to get some playing in.
Testing tavern map, it look kinda soulless, and I liked the old VRC default scene that was before it. So looking into making a different map for MtG in the future, more simple then the Tavern.
