for ak12 in particular, I used to main it a lot back in the good ol' days when I could play more reliably at eu hours; you absolutely 100% need the grip for it and pull down aggressively when you full auto. I always used to hear from other anons their experience with it is bad, and its diabolical to me because it actually kills the fastest out of pretty much every rifle in the config. I don't have it on hand but it ties with at least one or 2 other rifles I don't remember top of my head for the best kill stats. Are you using the custom 3d scanned facial interface? When i use mine on my bsb1, my eyes will hurt after 3-4 hours in vr. Its been long enough that i can't remember if my eyes where sweaty or dry. I can confirm, Assetto Corsa Rally runs better and looks better than WRC using newest nightly built of UEVR injector. Better, but still you need 5090 for 90 FPS at 2700x2700 per eye. But there is still some shimmering, as no proper AA. WAY less shimmering than WRC, and wet surfaces look godly in comparison even on all low graphics. The framerate is also exceptionally stable.
Physics are more fun to drive, more grounded. After they add more tracks and some sorts of club/championship system, native VR, we should definitely jump ship.

Also Black Friday deals, G29 is dirt cheap almost everywhere, best moment to join rally or Assetto!

Afterwards, something COMPLETELY different. SPEED RACER practice. Speed Racer cars from the Speed Racer movie have been implemented "realistically" in Assetto Corsa. Cars have 4WD, 4 wheel steering, "fly by wire" system, which calculates optimal angle of "drift", insane power and downforce. And additionally, one more trick - clutch pedal operates a fucking JET ENGINE AFTERBURNER which gives you MORE speed and, if carefully controlled, INSANE cornering ability. It's a crazy thing to drive, it's a death race, it's insane, it's FUN. You WILL need CSP 0.2.9.

For clarity, my 3080ti could do a bit more than this 1200x1200 I've mentioned. I just dropped it all the way down for consistent 90fps with OBS on no matter what, and because I felt like it doesn't really matter for me if it's 1200x1200 or 1600x1600 since it's all pixelated shit anyway. Also, 5090 guy used a nightly build, this thing wasn't improving performance for me at a glance, but I didn't play with it long enough to say anything for sure yet. Also, I can do more or less fine at 2400x2400 with 45fps, but you really want more than that for racing sims. tldr, the situation may be less grim than my 3080ti posts implied.

Assuming you're starting from zero, I find it much easier to talk to new people if they're either in small groups or by showing up to an event early, and this doesn't only apply to VR. Only the most experience social butterflies can walk into a large party of 100% people they don't know who are already vibing with each other and make friends. What that translates to is that I would favor small instances or show up to hangout instances early so you can more naturally say hi to people. One of the beautiful things about VR is that you can make silly gestures at people as well, which isn't really socially acceptable irl (e.g. randomly waving, jumping, headpatting, etc.). I find that's a nice way to break the ice before actually saying anything sometimes.

I actually agree with you in that I think the first part of that chart is the hardest part.

You can get a factory refurb Q3 for 350 bucks right now. If you want to get into VR, that's an amazing price and will just werk. The Frame doesn't have a release date beyond early 2026 and no price yet, but people are expecting it to be in the 700 to 800 dollar range, which isn't terribly expensive given a Q3 is going to need some additional stuff, namely the router, that a Frame won't which is a major expense, but the Frame itself isn't a huge upgrade over the Q3 except for having eye tracking for foveated encoding and potentially rendering in the future.

The quick explanation is that it's effectively a Quest 3 sidegrade but it'll come with some of the stuff the Quest should've have out of the box (better strap and wireless dongle), eyetracking, and the experience of using it to stream from a PC will supposedly be somewhat better.
The way Valve is talking, it's going to cost more than a refurb Quest 3, strap upgrade, and a decent router. Up to you whether you think the extra money and extra wait (no actual release date yet, supposedly early 2026) is worth it to you.

You can plug it in over USB, but it's effectively doing the same thing it's doing over a wireless connection and you'll be stuck with official Meta software.

I exclusively use the cable (got 3rd party, im not spending 50% extra for the meta brand, and it works fine) to play steamvr games on my computer. Vrchat, into the radius, forefront etc. Is my computer up to specs? Barely.
So the flow is like

Oh, and you will need to get your VR legs while playing. Sickness is real and you need to stop when your body says so. You cant rush it. But after days/weeks, it becomes completely normal and fine.
