SEA Explo: Adventurer Edition

We have some special quest givers who will help us at it's peak as we near he end of he explo.
After exploring fantasy maps for 3 hrs we will do a Tavern Guild Receptionist roleplay where our quest givers will help everyone gather their parties into some choice maps with actual adventuring gameplay from ye olden adventuring maps SEA explo has come upon way back in the days.
We give the peak choices
You choose which one you shall embark in

The Tavern Guild receptionist instance will be kept alive for your party to return to with proof you completed or stopped (group photo with your adventuring team)

But really, having played the actual dance dash game, this is basically the dance dash game but better in some ways. You get VRC IK and FBT, the pads seem more responsive and have better indicators if you hit them properly or not, and the ui is better. There's also a massive selection of songs already in the map too. The only thing missing is a leaderboard.

Something similar to one of these but with discrete inflation sections for custom pressure application.
In a collar form, it could let someone apply pressure to your throat to choke you, or compress your carotid so you can fade to black.

If it was controlled by a secondary device, the same thing but pre-inflated, only your partner could physically squeeze irl to apply pressure to your neck. Then not just anyone can potentially kill you.

I too came from the Quest 2 to the Steam Frame, but for me it wasn't the better in every way upgrade I expected.

Comfort & Fit: Slightly disappointed. Yes, it's better than stock Quest 2, but I've been using my Quest 2 with a halo strap since I got it, and as long as there isn't a better strap available for the Steam Frame, it's a downgrade. It doesn't help that the top head band isn't included and the ergonomic kit isn't available yet in my region.

Display: Steam Frame mostly better, but there is something that nobody mentions: the Steam Frame is worse in binocular overlap. People forgot that the Quest 3 was a downgrade from the Quest 2 in this regard.

Sound: The Quest 2's speakers are positioned much better. The Steam Frame suffers from heavy fan noise.

Battery Life: Quest 2 even with a years old battery beats the Steam Frame hands down in battery life, but the Steam Frame charges quicker.

Ergonomics: The Quest 2 controllers are more comfortable. The shoulder button is positioned too low/too prominent. What would be the chances of someone getting the Quest controllers to work with the Steam Frame? Also very annoying you have to keep pressing a button first to use the controller to point and click.

Streaming: Wired streaming of the Quest 2 > Wireless streaming of the Steam Frame, except for you know, the wire. I do see the glimmer of the foveated streaming.

I really want to get out of Meta's ecosystem and not be at the mercy of their software upgrades that are often downgrades, but if not for that, I wouldn't recommend the Steam Frame over the Quest.

My most played game is Pistol Whip, which is not very heavy, and for this particular game, the experience on the Steam Frame isn't better.

Could not get the HLA style weapon switching working but otherwise it plays ok. Performance isn't great but it's not like Black Mesa performance was great anyway. There's a decent Team Beef standalone HL1 mod and one on the steam store that I've not tried but isn't as good. HL2 VR mod on steam is really polished, so just play that one first. Anyone having troubles with VR streaming clarity in their Frame? Past like 2 feet, the video quality drops off a cliff. can barely read xs overlay. Yet it says its using full 240 mbps or whatever. It seems the only solution that i found is to crank up the resolution, but I don't have a powerful enough pc and the delay just gets worse, not only that, I have to run it at like 72hz because any higher and the quality gets worse. please don't be that i have to upgrade my pc after a major purchase and in this shit market...

Streaming seems to only work only like half of the games. Forefront and a couple of other titles have an issue where the left and right eye are swapped, and transforms are inverted. And compression on some games is really bad even with my head next to the adapter. It's weird as Forefront's standalone version is 'Great on Frame' (smoothed up from 36fps but they didn't get the PC version working.

I can see some software things getting fixed on Valve time. I like the headset itself being comfortable, but the display has bad screen door which will only get 'patched' if they make an oled version like they did with the Deck.

The display is visibly worse. The screen door effect is much more noticeable and it gets blurry around the edges of the lenses so I'm moving my head more.

I got mine in 2021 also and so far only have had to replace one knuckle, which Valve RMAed even though it was long out of warranty (last year I think). But now the cable is starting to fail, I have to unplug it and replug it every time I restart the computer.

Much like literally every wireless headset launch in recorded history there were a lot of bugs patched after a few days and anyone too retarded (or that had never had a wireless launch headset) to be on the beta branch gets to enjoy the bugs for a while until they get pushed to main. The quest 2 and 3 had turbo dogshit audio and mic and the pico 3 and 4 had similar issues. Just swap to the beta branch and more likely than not the majority of major software level issues will be patched up within a month or two (if they haven't been already).

I think many retards don't realize that the 3s uses the miserable frensel lenses from the quest 2. The quest 3 lenses were an absolute steal on launch and there is zero way that they weren't selling at a massive loss because of it.
