Tried Blade and Sorcery for the first time - not bad. Telekinesis and lightning felt good. It certainly gets a little lewd with female barbarians. The melee is good, but I guess it needs all the space you can get and wireless to really shine. Enemies are challenging unlike Gorn. This has potential to be something.

Tried a little Contractors before I needed a break (haven't played in some time so I need a short period to readjust I guess). Doesn't really strike me as super duper high quality - it's on the same shelf with Pavlov and BAM VR, but it's too early to tell.

I'll be trying Gal Gun 2 next, then I'll catch up with H3VR updates. I feel a bit out of the loop on VRChat, but I guess I've got a bit of avatar optimization checking and favouriting, since I've got so many empty slots now.

I'll probably get wireless once my fucking 3in1 breaks.

I just had a girl sleeping in my bed again for the first time in a couple weeks, as I was drifting back and forth between dreaming states and wakefulness I thought I was in VRChat or the real world, the girl I was laying with looks somewhat similar to another anons avatar and my mind started thinking it was that person, via sleepy hallucinogenic fuckery the girl started to look like the avatar and her voice sounded like the guys. I started nibbling on the ear thinking it was a trigger which caused the girl/anon to moan, the sound made me go into the more wakeful state in which I saw the avatar being the physical embodiment of the anon, and I was actually lying down with them irl. The girl turned around to kiss me and seeing the big cute anime face I kissed back, but because I thought it was a guy all I was thinking was that I am now actually gay. I never reached high peaks but I always had some autistic ability to figure out how individuals work allowing me to play actual mind games, which I only started to apply in recent years when I relaxed my morals. to do your own sound in an animation, do the following:
first, add the sound to your avatar attached to an empty game object.. You should have the sound in an .ogg format, convert it if you have to. Audacity or reaper are good for this. I reccomend resampling the audio clip to 22050hz so it's small. Don't make it raw and don't compress it. Set all music clips to "streaming" which saves a lot of memory for others. Have it set to "play on live".
disable the gameobject using the tickbox on the top left so it's greyed out.
then you clone the avatar in the scene (ctrl+d) and go to the animations tab on the clone (you might want to disable the original)
then, load that rumba animation into the animations tab.
hit the record button and simply enable the game object so that you have it enabled for the duration of the animation. copy that little blue triangle and put it at the end of the animation too.
there's better ways to do this so you can start and stop it, but that's the basics.

I wish I could reccomend 2019 but I don't know when it's going stable.
You could keep two versions of your code and release on 2017LTS while simultaneously porting everything to 2018/2019 and fixing what breaks when you have time until it's supported by unity. (which is what I do to appease users asking for better performance on modern hardware)
Don't forget to set build targets to dx12 and vulkan. (though you'll likely have to live with standard shaders and rebake lighting for every scene you import)

I also recommend looking at Unreal Engine. It's performance for VR is superior to unity (at least with nvidia) and the support for dx12/vulkan vr development is better.

You'll actually be ok if your core clock turbos correctly on 1-2 cores and your ddr3 is fast.
I did a dk2 rift and vive on a i7 from that generation with a rx 290 8gb, rx 390 8gb, and later rx480 8gb.
If your mainboard has more than one dedicated usb 3.0 port set (two beside each other is a "hub" and shares bandwidth) you'll be especially good. The headset and cameras should all be on their own usb hub ideally.

you're totally fine as long as your gpu isn't all that bottlenecked, and even then you might be surprised.
plus motion smoothing helps a ton, async spacewarp is good and you probably won't notice.
lock SteamVR's supersamling down and turn off async and interleaved reprojection completely and let oculus do it's thing.

It's basically the same as my built pc (with some minor differences and tweaks) and for reference I rarely drop below 45 fps (reprojection) even in highly unoptimized vrchat with 10 people around. Don't use vrchat as a yardstick though, because it really depends on the map. You can tweak a few things to how vrchat accesses the cpu to speed things up, too, but all other vr will run absolutely insanely flawlessly, the 2700x has a massive single core boost clock and eats single threaded games for breakfast.

One little known fact about pimax's headsets is that their software stack (kinda like how windows mixed reality works with steamvr) incorporates native oculus AND steamvr support through pitool.
The device can literally be used on oculus home and play oculus games "natively", it's the first one.

The "good headsets" bit is up for debate. They're the least developed by far on ergonomics and technically speaking they have the worst dud rate and mystery meat customer support, it hasnt been around long enough to know just how bad it really is, but the track record so far is pretty bad. Distortion problems seem to be a dice roll. Makes HTC look like Oculus, really. Until I took a good look at the other headsets and what they actually have to live with on the day to day, I didnt quite appreciate how nice the whole "finished product" aspect of the Rift is. Honestly the Vive is still better imo, it comes with better tracking. (Hybrid has controller interference.) Better performance (No oculus software) and better future upgrades.(Knuckles, Valve Headset[?], Pimax) I still recommend Vive over Oculus for those reasons.

If you're looking for a more technical reason, dynamic bone runs on the "Update()" method which basically runs on the tickrate of the game itself. YOUR cpu needs to do all the movement calculations once per frame for everyone in the room, the values are not self computed and then passed to you. It's especially bad with colliders.

the creator made this product in 2014 and because it "works ok" everyone just used it because the vast majority of unity "devs" are asset flippers and can't into code, so they use pre-built tools for everything.
on that point vrm springbone for unity and unity's own cloth physics (especially in 2017 and up) can be made EXTREMELY high performing as they use threaded and gpu based calculation - but only if you're running in dx12, mostly.
Now, I had hoped with unity 2017.4 LTS vrchat would have been made dx12 by default but I'm not sure if that's the case (though to be honest I haven't looked.) You could launch vrchat in dx12 mode using parameters. (-force-d3d12)

Every two weeks, there will be a different casual gamemode available. Our first was spooky Spec Ops released for Halloween. Spec Ops will be making a return, but for now we're introducing a new Social gamemode to try out.

RPG (4 points): Single shot launcher. Clear backblast! Available to Volk Specialist.
M203 grenade launcher attachment (4 points frag, 2 points smoke): Single shot launcher. Frag and smoke grenade ammo options. Does blunt damage if it hits someone before arming distance. Available to Marsoc Specialist on the Mk18.
Hand smoke grenades now have white, red, and green color options.

Free Roam: Added Refresh Loadout button to Tablet to respawn all items selected in tent. Get out there and practice those grenade throws!
Shooting Range: Now has moving targets
UI: Server browser now shows player list of lobby that is hovered.
UI: Haptics added to hovering over interactable elements.
UI: During private game map vote, non-host players can see what map and gamemode are selected.
Grenade: Can no longer pull pins on grenade during setup period.
Water: Be safe, you can now drown.
Fire: You can catch on fire if you stay in it too long. Being near an exploding Molotov will also set you on fire. Stop, drop, and roll! (literally, it puts out the fire)

That's a very important change. One of the worst frustrations was someone managing to nigger the code in and the round ending with no warning.

Physics: Simplified pickup collision to reduce physics processing. Improved network sync to reduce jitter in pickups on the ground.
Lighting: Improved GPU performance of lighting from weapon attachments.
Tablet: Mini map rendering performance improved drastically.
Smoke Grenade: Particles changed for improved rendering performance.
Audio: Reduced memory consumption and increased CPU performance when loading new audio.
Optimize bullet casing physics and rendering cost.
