I don't really know what he's working on right at the moment, but there's a new engine update coming in the near future, so he'll probably optimise for that first before doing the crystals and bucket.

I just tried it out. I can see the appeal because of the visuals, but the way you move around it it is really not good. I kind of wonder what was the point of being able to move around at all, when you can just teleport an unlimited number of times with no sense of peril.
I think for whatever reason the world was implemented as an orthodox terrain mesh and the player is only compatible with that. So the blocks are just drawn over that, you'll notice that your legs go through the blocks half the time and you move through the z axis gradually instead of 1 block at a time. I'm guessing that the game originally wasn't supposed to be block based at all.
I probably should have given it the full two hours but it was also pretty laggy so oh well.

There's also smooth movement that's used in tandem with teleportation with an additional option for smooth movement.
The menu button on the vive remotes are the default smooth locomotion, but you need to press both the left and right menu buttons to go full speed.
The alternative is an option in the settings, which when enabled changes the left slide-pad into the normal smooth locomotion (while pressing it in) and sliding across is the snap-turn. Though, there's an option to enable smooth turning but I don't recommend that.

The only issue with an auto-step like Vivecraft is that it'd be so quick and jarring it might cause issues. That's the only reason you move through blocks while smooth locomotioning. Currently the Teleportation is the main method for climbing the mountains, it's less jarring than instant auto-step and the controls don't really support a jump yet.

FYI, total block height is 800. Blocks are considered half-meter cubed.

My issue with it was mainly that the current teleportation is overpowered and should be for a 'creative mode' I think. The original game had a sense of peril when navigating a cave for instance so there'd be risk vs reward in going for resources instead of pointing and clicking. On the other hand I didn't play enough to actually know what other survival mechanics from the original game are there either.
I was avoiding using the teleport while getting a feel for the game, and the current 'smooth locomotion' feels really bad for the reasons I mentioned before. Ideally there would be a single system that respects the lateral surfaces of the blocks and no cheeky teleporting.

ShootingClub [WIP] was a pretty fun map. It has weapons with modeled bullets, magazine, reloads, fire selector, holographic sights and two point aiming. Probably as close as Pavlov/H3VR you can get in VRChat. The range even had some games built into it but the map mostly devolved into trying different guns and shooting stuff at each other.

Amazing what people can do with the limited stuff VRChat gives you!

You can thank Unity, Photon & the VRC team for allowing this to be as easy as copy pasting some code and recompiling Assembly-CSharp using dnSpy or similar reflectors and allowing any modified client to connect without any sort of checksum/verification on the server.
As much as security through obscurity is a meme, it's sad knowing that they didn't even bother obfuscating their code early on to prevent script kiddies from tampering with it.

Speculatively there's worse things you could do to VRChat but that doesn't matter and never will because fixing certain exploits would require them to rewrite the majority of their application.
I hope that in the future Unity devs working on multiplayer VR games won't allow clients to do whatever they want and actually think about the damage that can be done by trusting the client.
