How do I add a small permanent light to my vr chat avatar in unity? for some reason I have this one part of my avatar's body around the right elbow that the colors go completely all black with small lines (it looks like a burn mark) unless a light is shining on it, then it looks fine. I wanted to just add a small light there that will carry over when I import but unsure how to do that?

you can add a unity light component to your avatar, but it'll cost a lot of performance to render and drop your avatar to very poor. The spot on your elbow might have backwards normals, you should try fixing it in blender or trying a different shader before resorting to realtime lights.

you can copy your main texture into the emission slot on the standard shader and set the emission strength above black which will make your avatar glow as much as you want. That might fix your issue. If you don't want to entirely glow, you can edit the texture in the emission slot to only have color where your problem spot is.

UTSV2 is a good shader for anime styles, or xiexe's xstoon. Poiyomi also apparently, though haven't used it myself.

Doing some night driving tomorrow night around at 8PM EDT in Assetto Corsa. We'll be hitting the Japanese highways from the Shutoko Revival Project mod using some cars from their modpack.

What's a good way to record MMD videos so that the output file is small enough to post on /wsg/?

I went in completely blind to the new Frostpoint VR game that finally came into closed alpha (check your emails by the way) after about 25 minutes of playing I have to say: it actually sucks. There is one but it's pretty buggy at the moment and can make every dynamic bone stretch in one direction. Put the installer in the vrchat game root folder and run the installer then put the .dll into the Mods folder it creates.
You can't toggle in the menu with this one either so you have to remove the .dll from that folder to stop it and restart the game. There's also an update for it somewhere but dunno where.

I don't remember your post, but we think alike. I actually put together the demo in like 20 minutes with vrchat udon to track the avatar hip bone, a configurable joint and some particle systems. I'm actually pretty impressed with how easy udon makes it to experiment with body tracked objects. Feet saber, elbow saber, mouth saber, all equally as easy. Network sync and actual beatmaps and scoring harder, but I'm 100% sure someone is working on porting full beat saber to udon right now.

For a more wholesome idea, I was thinking of ways to make hula hoops work. Problem is I don't have a real hula hoop to know how the motion works. Also unity doesn't have a good hoop collider, so not sure how well a mesh collider would work, plus a hip collider that's not just a simple capsule.

Solid days of not working on models, then solid days of people playing a new flat FOTM, going to sit down, get to the grindstone, and eat some pizza, and I encourage you guys to sniff your own gas too. We have plenty of events to get models working on, and there is always more to learn, don't spend the quarantine playing just games, space it out and gain more weight too!

No weekly poll, going to take a nice break from the Friday games as people don’t show up anymore even though everyone has more free time due to the pandemic, got a lot of input going around for Pavlov recently, and the largest factor was identified. No one wants to play with a bunch of whiny attention whores and coombrained faggots. Tried keeping to the Friday Night Gaming pattern, but it was clear how many just have something better to do. To avoid the pull of play this or play that, just going to call Friday's a bust until I start being relevant again. If renewed interest pops up, might reinstate the Friday stuff or have infrequent games, but for now I’m giving up on Fridays because people stopped showing up.
