The quest is the most versatile of the headsets and customizable. It's a solid choice even if you do have a good PC since it can run on its own, and you can link it to your pc and run it like a pcvr too. It also has access to all the oculus content instead of just steamvr or just psvr, etc.

You can mute all other people if you want. You can also limit which person can join in if you are the one that started the room. You can kick them.

Not an easy process, they will drop by and they will see your movie. VRchat is better for pre-planned viewing but works as well even non-preplanned.

If you want a lot of people joining in then you will want to use the popular theater maps like ROOT theater. People will stream in and the map is made knowing public people might mess with your movie so only the master has initial control of the video viewing. Bedroom Theater also does this.

You will need to place url based links. So upload it first to a dropbox. Preferably hardcoded if you are watching with subtitles.
mp4 is what you want. Smaller filesize the better ofcourse 720p is reccomended as you can't really see the full detail anyways with current V headsets. 1080p works too

That's kind of the issue then. I prefer how low effort Bigscreen is because I just type the name of the movie, start the movie and people can join if they want to. They're people specifically using the app to watch stuff in a theater setting so most are pretty chill about about.
I'm not looking to make friends or anything and don't want to keep in contact with the people. I just wish the streaming on Bigscreen was better for larger groups.

Handyman's Corner is based. Also making a sphere mesh with beard texture and normal map is the best and most optimised way to do it.
