Does anyone here use prescription lens inserts on any headset? I can't wear contacts, and I'm having issues with my glasses with an Index on, so I was thinking about buying some to avoid needing my glasses with the headset on.

Although, maybe my main issue isn't related to the glasses. What happens is, my face seems to be a weird shape, so everything can be perfectly sharp when I get the headset in the perfect spot, but then it moves ever so slightly, and everything goes blurry. I don't know if that's just an issue with everyone, or if that's specific to me. The other big reason I wanted to try out inserts is because my glasses get sweaty and fogged up after a while. I didn't even know eyeballs could sweat.

Looking around, it seems like it'd be far cheaper to pay for 3D printed inserts, and then buy a cheap pair of glasses to take the lenses out of; I have a high scrip, so on the big lens insert sites (VR Optician, Widmo, etc), the average is $100+ USD for inserts and lenses, whereas I could get the inserts printed for about $10, and pick up the pair of glasses for about $15. If it wasn't for the rona, I could even save the $10 for 3D printing, since my local library would do it for free, but libraries are all closed for the foreseeable future. I'll probably just take that route, since, worst case scenario, it doesn't work, and I'm only out the $10 for the inserts, since I could just keep the glasses as an emergency pair.

For everything else search up for proportional editing. You move a single vertex and it moves nearby vertices proportionally according to a curve

If the clothes have an armature and weights (e.g. from an old model), you can use pose mode to scale and move things to fit and then apply the armature modifier. If not, you could try the new pose brush in sculpt mode. Other than that, mirror editing and proportional edit will get you the rest of the way there.

Camera tracking is going to be awful compared to light houses. If you want to play vrfps you want to have a wide field of view and base station tracking your options are limited the obvious choice would be an index as it give you a wide field of view. People here complain about how they have to RMA their index controllers but honestly valve is very good about replacing them even after it's been over a year, something you wouldnt see HTC or oculus doing. They are a lot more forgiving with accidents a friend smashed his controller into a wall and they still replaced it.

I was using the Rift S up to about a month and a half ago. As I literally said, I was still playing Pavlov and Contractors on these new updates that fixed the issue and I still had it on occasion (although I'm sure it's better than it was at launch). The software updates actually made my experience worse - Was getting constant crashing after April or so.

Re: FOV the Rift still has a limit as to how close it can get to your face and the Index can get a lot closer. The FOV increase is very noticeable at close range shooting, and the extra bit of resolution does a lot to mitigate SDE which is good for long range engagements.

The tracking basically updates at 60Hz on the Rift S quest, but it splits those tracking updates in two - Half of them it uses only to get tracking data for the HMD itself, and the other half it uses to get tracking data for the two controllers. So you get 30 updates per second for the HMD, and 30 for the controllers - 30Hz individually for the two items.

Also the FOV is improved over literally everything besides vive pro and Index so that's not even an issue, I was fine with the Vive and CV1 in regards to FOV you just adapt its not a big deal.

Yeah standard camera mount is what the base stations use. As far as I know height doesn't matter much as long as each base station has a good view of the room.
You'll want to make sure you have the 2.0 base stations (like those that come with the Index) as I don't think you can use more than 2 with the original Vive base stations.

I can see that reaction when coming from CV1 as the Wands take a while to get used to. Especially with used Wands the touchpads get worn out. I got pristine Vive Pro Wands and they register touches perfectly. I prefer Wands over Quest Touches too as the Quest triggers don't click when fully depressed and I rather use toggle grab for things in Pavlov. Quest had tracking issue when throwing nades or knives over arm too.

You're better in general weight painting the skirts so they properly conform to the legs. Dynamic bone colliders are finicky, and a big performance drain. For simple, short skirts, you can get better results with unity cloth, though it also requires a lot of tweaking to get right.

God I love Seiki thots

Finally got around to playing and finishing Paper Beast. It's one of my new favorite VR games. Amazing atmosphere, and although short (3-4 hours), it consistently throws in fresh ideas. May be artsy, but it's entertaining and unique. Probably the best excuse to fill a game with impressive technological gimmicks and effects. Only gripes were the presence of a few invisible walls and loading transitions not being the smoothest.

Haven't touched the sandbox mode yet, but I would hope it's worthwhile considering the dynamic nature of the game. Should add more playtime and justify the $20 price tag.

I'm not sure why, because this avatar would be proportional once the arms are fixed.

I noticed if I adjust my height to force the arms to fully extend out, my entire avatar jolts to the side when extending, like its being pulled by my hands. it basically goes from that state straight to bending when I adjust by a single inch in that "sweet spot".

Does this mean anything relevant? Such as the bones being set up to have an inherent bend and not being able to fully extend?

CM3D2 is still some of the bigger ones that are getting used to this day.
MMD still spawns a lot of nice unique ones due to the existing desire of jps to make their OCs and waifu's dance. Even though they are amatuer hobbyist it still works

Literally impossible you haven't heard of them. They made a set of extremely popular booth models. Their body topology and weigh painting are second to none. They do lean heavily into loli though
