New Genshin thread every every fucking hour. The thread is almost entirely spam and zero discussion since it gets flushed so fast.
Nothing wrong with the popular choices

If you play AC in VR get the new Sol 2.2 and use Peter Boese's new Pure filter/weather script.

I miss petting her... Shame the replayability just isn't there.

My OG Vive is starting to literally fall apart and one of my light houses is proper fucked.
What should I upgrade to in current year?
>>379867103
I think the Index is the next step up. Only thing is you'll really notice the difference in color depth. It was a real hangup for me and I almost returned my Index because of it. You'll get used to it in time though.
>>379850935
Is Assetto worth getting into in VR? I have a wheel/pedal setup collecting dust and I've been eyeing it.
>>379868174
It goes on sale all the time and it's the best VR experience available.
Vox lobby when?
>>379867683
I'm in Australia I was thinking of getting the vive pro 2 fullkit here and just getting imported Index controllers.
>>379875796
Can't speak to the Vive 2 Pro. From some reviews online though, it sounds like the increased pixel density is a real improvement. Honestly, I just want something with higher pixel density AND the better color depth of the OLED display the original Vive had. If the Vive 2 Pro has that, go for it. Report back and let us know how it is.
>>379836120
How much of a pain would it be to place this /vrgg/ thread into a slower board like /vm/?
Main issue would be searchability.
If we get more actual games with real hype around them that people like to play then it might be able to stay here again in the future much easier.
>>379879385
I've tried the Vive Pro 2, along with a bunch of other HMDs that include the Index and some OLEDs like the HTC Vive and Pro.
Excepting the Varjo Aero, and maybe a heavily tweaked 8k X, the VP2 has the best colors of any LCD headset by a good margin. Its clarity is a big step up from the Index as are its colors. Its not without cons though. It runs very hot, has one of the poorest stereo overlaps on the market, though it's only about 5-6 degrees below the Index, and it trades vertical field of view for horizontal. You're giving up about 8 degrees vertical to get that 8 extra horizontal. Plus the Viveport software is garbage.
I am also somebody who thinks that older gen OLED displays in HMDs like the Vive and Vive Pro were incredibly overrated though with all the trade offs it had beyond just low res and screen door effect. Quantum Dot OLED would theoretically fix most of those issues from what I understand. But we're not getting that in VR for a long time.
Rumor has it that the Cambria has some special tech in it that can increase the resolution of the screen while still having the same physical amount of pixels. Is it the fabled wobulation technique, that Facebook had published a paper on before?
>>379875796
Ausfag here, I just pre ordered full index package from EBgames pre orders filled 20th of April. Still available and covered by warranty
>>379890724
yes
>>379890334
>I am also somebody who thinks that older gen OLED displays in HMDs like the Vive and Vive Pro were incredibly overrated
Still better than a lot of LCDs headsets, but I tend to agree. However, they often had a lot of manufacturing variation. The right OLED with the right calibration looked... Pristine, is probably the best word to describe it. It still had that darned screen door effect, but the consistency and deepness of blacks was out of this world, and it had very minimal black smear too. The headset I tried was truly a silicon/display lottery win.
>>379890724
Wtf is wobulation?
Like vibrating the screen very fast like how kids draw using lightsticks?
>>379891887
the mechanical method of wobulation was having the screen physically move a very small amount in a circle, with the grid of the screen door effect blending together. solid state wobulation uses optic layers that turn on and off
>>379891748
I'm extremely interested to see how QLED with local dimming works once some people begin using it because it legitimately sounds like the best of both worlds on paper. Extremely bright, no black smearing or low persistence issues OLED has, extremely wide color gamut that can be even greater than OLED, and not quite as good blacks/contrast, but still vastly improved from normal LCD. Doesn't have the lifespan/burn in issues OLED can be subject to when running it really bright either.
>>379891625
Can't believe we're getting this in a headset now. It's like it was just yesterday when someone modded their DK1 to vibrate and decrease the SDE.
>>379891887
In this context you shift the screen by a small amount very fast so that pixels can move just enough into the position where the blank space in-between pixels was. If you do it fast enough, our brain can register it as a single unmoving image. And therefore, no more SDE. If you can predict the vibration well enough, you might even be able to change the rendering so it really is 1-2x boost in resolution.
>>379892702
>n this context you shift the screen by a small amount very fast so that pixels can move just enough into the position where the blank space in-between pixels was.
Gyroscopic forces will hate your head moving very fast with that vibration/rotation though.
I fear the screen will break with this if you move your head fast enough for long enough wear and tear.
>>379892825
Cambria is business/enterprise focused, according to everything that's been said and heard so far, so if that sticks it's absolutely not made in mind with gamers spinning around and doing rapid movements. I guarantee it's designed around things like doing office work in VR or simulation training, where the majority of motions will be slow and simple.
>>379893074
Then it will be SHIT.
Why call it PRO if it is inferior reeeeeee
>>379892825
>>379893074
it's not physically moving in what is being used, it's an optic layer shifting them
>>379892825
It might not be that bad since you're shifting it an extremely tiny amount, especially if your screen is already very high resolution and tiny. The fans might even produce more vibration compared to the wobulated displays, and Cambria has two. I'm sure they could make it robust enough. Mechanical varifocal on the other hand seems much more difficult to engineer robustly.
Also I did only mention the mechanical method but there is a "solid state" method the other anon mentioned. To explain that concept, you can basically think about it as a special type of lens that does nothing when left alone, but then when you run electricity through it, the optical properties change. This can be used produce a shifted image.
>>379893707
Interesting. If it's not a physical motion that's pretty cool how they did that. I'd be interested in their patent for it just to see the science behind it.
>>379875796
Entire vive series is trash and not worth your money, sorry. Like there was a little complaint about the index not have the same colour depth, but the list of vive complaints is a page long
>>379893729
varifocal is also being done with layers that are turned on or off in synch
>>379893978
Varifocal is not happening for a while by all indication and how everyone in the industry is acting. It's something they've been struggling with actually getting working in a headset with human eyes for a while. The eyes are really sensitive and getting them to work with our's at multiple focal lengths and fast enough is real difficult.
>>379894103
i should have said it's being done in research
>>379893978
Yeah, I was actually kind of explaining how they did varifocal. The pixel shifting thing is actually more complex. Can't remember which paper/patent it was.
>>379890724
That was from one of Bradley's sources. Since there haven't been any other corroborating leaks, I would say not to put much faith into that one.

Ok I found it. It wasn't a paper or patent (although one might exist).
It was from a presentation by formerly Facebook Reality Labs at Display Week 2021.

Can anything bad happen to your eyes if you've slept an hour and you're really tired and you play VR for a few hours?
>>379940474
I'm sure that's bad for your eyes regardless of VR.
>>379903267
just put some reading glasses on
I like driving games like Ballistic NG, Mini Racing and GRIP but cannot into Dirt Rally 2 or Asserto Corsa, they feel like bargain bin tier experiences (even outside VR), why are they so loved again?
>>379944443
AC is the best thing you can play in VR currently. Period.
>>379944832
Why? It looks like garbage (I have RTX 3080), plays like shit and doesn't gain any VR immersion cause you have nothing interesting to see or do. It's a crappy driving experience to me and would rather have a race I can actually have fun with
>>379945034
I guess you just don't like racing and want story adventure cinematic experiences about cars.
>>379945341
or arcade games
>>379945341
if it means having fun, than yes, any day. It's not even that its trying to be a "realistic" racing scene, it just boring and I can't imagine anyone liking these experiences. At least certain games I don't play I can fully understand why people love them, these games I don't. Even Truck Simulator has its comfy side to it
>>379945034
So what VR game with cars do you enjoy?
>>379945725
Come to EU Racing club after the easter break, try one more time with friens.
>>379945835
I just said above, Ballistic NG, Mini Motor Racing and GRIP. Even without weapons, they still play so much smoother and immersive
>>379945997
That's just embarrassing.
>>379946317
Because I actually have good taste? I bet you buy the EA sports crap every year, cause it looks so real
>>379946472

>uhhhh uhhh ballistic ng
>uhhh fukken uhhh mini motor mini penis racing
>&&& ummmm can I get uhhhh, umm GRIP!
Because you're a retarded normalfag and you don't have what it takes.
>>379946624

Been thinking about pulling the trigger on an index ever since but life got too busy to spend a significant amount of time in it. Maybe end of this year it'll be a good time to upgrade.

I love Dirt Rally (1). There's something really great about driving at highway speeds down a slippery dirt road that you've never been down before, and the only way to tell what's ahead is by deciphering the hieroglyphics your co-driver is spouting into your ear. Also, for regular racing I liked PCars 2 way more than AssCors. I pretty much only use AC to scratch my eurobeat itch. They're both good but I don't see how anyone could pick one of these 3 and call it "the best thing you can play in VR"

>>379959839
I think the Index isn't really worth it now at MSRP. it's really showing its age after 3 years. There are headsets which are way clearer than it is or have much more FoV. Unless you're big on social stuff then the microphone is god tier and nobody tops it.
>>379984475
The Oculus microphone being an echoing piece of shit is another blight Facebook unleashed onto VR. Every other room in After the Fall has a couple of people creating an infinite feedback loop.
>>379984996
The problem is that the Quest 2 is completely open on audio. It doesn't even focus and direct it onto your ears like the Valve Index or G2. And you have to max out the volume to make the Q2 audio even passable tier, which means it gets picked up by the microphone and makes an awful loop. It's so goddamn annoying, I agree.
>>379985374
It's amazing that they didn't figure that shit out after the Rift 1. Someone in another room can hear everything coming through the headphones.

Alright motherfuckers it is that time of the week again! We are entering what appears to be a nice spell of VRC content, we have easter coming up and some kind of yearbook thing going on. There isn't much going on besides that so this is the perfect time to brush up on skill you don't have. The new Koikatsu exporter has almost been mapped out due to a lack of wiki, so if you want to see the final stretch drop by. Either that or post about your junk here in the thread, best of luck with the current shitposting weather friends.
Pulsar has nearly been completed but the full stretch of content has nearly been exhausted. If the main playthrough cannot resume, weekly organized VR gaming will be switched back to Zenith with it's new content to see what has been released or changed.

Now that I'm a 30 year old boomer I really appreciate small well tailored games. Open world meme needs to die. Arkham Asylum >>>> Free Roam Shit Batman with endless fetch quests. Though I will admit hypocrisy in that it didn't bother me in Breath of The Wild for whatever reason. I think because that game rarely makes you backtrack and doesn't have FULLY VOICE ACTED DIALOUGE WOW. It's funny how as a kid I thought good cinematics and lots of content where a signs of a good game. Now I see that 90% of the time they are flashy stickers to distract you from the fact that the devs don't know how to properly pace a game or design a level. I think I let Zelda slide because it looks nice and gameplay is rarely interrupted.

According to Bradley, the Quest event next week should supposedly be much better than last year's and include some (game) surprises. We all know they're working on GTA, Splinter Cell, and Asscreed. There's also whatever the Asgard's Wrath and Lone Echo devs are working on. There's also Walking Dead S&S Chapter 2, the Boneworks related game... What else could there be?
Someone did ask about Halo and Bradley said no.

For running you just push up on the other stick. So forward on both sticks.
On spears I recomend 2 stage method you set in the VHVR settings. With that enabled you squeeze the gip ready to throw over sholder. You will see a taget line. Without letting go of the grip pull the trigger and release as you swing forward.
If you are using the harpoon keep in mind it will drain stamina while linked an you have to throw it again to break the rope or wait for stamina to his zero.

Also why are there fucking 10 and 11 year olds playing this 13+ game.
I unironically think if you're a Questcuck VRchat should request your Age (nothing else, just age) from your linked Facebook profile.

>VRchat should request your Age
Rec Room already does this and blocks mic if you're younger than 13, but it's manual input, no facebook integration

Such a good mod. Between this, the physical dodging mod, and parallax textures now working in VR, Skyrim VR has had a good year so far.
>>380105807
So the propogation VR key in the bundle is only for the DLC? Does that mean I can't use it unless I buy the base game too?
FEATURES
Shooting range added. It's a separate location that can be accessed from the Vanno base. It has multiple minigames and also you can try any weapon that is allowed on your security level for free, including upgrades and attachments. It also serves as a training facility with 2 tutorial sections unlocked with gaining Security Level.
New multiple hand poses for gun handling. Improves hand visuals and style depending on grip position and angle.
New sounds for AK74, M4, IZ81.
AK-like guns can have their mag ejected using another mag.
BALANCE CHANGE
Changed Realistic difficulty preset not to increase enemy numbers or HP.
Sec level 2 award is moved to a new priority mission in Bolotki Village.
TT bullet speed reduced to match realistic values.
PPSH and PPSH sawn-off have more differences in their stats. (Btw if PPSH is suddenly not shooting, it's most likely caused by not resetting the trigger all the way)
Changed some weapon prices.
Double barrel shotgun variants have more stat differences in their lineup.
BUG FIXES
Fixed glowing trucks. (hello darkness, my old friend...)
Fixed mimics not reacting properly to bullet hits.
Fixed lights not having shadows.
Fixed audio not following handheld map position when playing tapes, or Tidemeter alarm sound ringing.
Fixed cassettes floating after being inserted into the voice recorder.
Fixed Lightning anomaly doesn't play its "not triggered" state VFX and SFX.
Fixed Item info panel issues when a player has a cigarette in mouth.
Fixed enemies disappearing on player death in Ironman mode.
Fixed item visibility flickering.
Fixed delivery box indication.
Fixed various sounds being too loud.
Fixed still having yawning VFX and other rest related stuff triggering with rest removed from game.
For my next game: Green Hell VR, Job Simulator + Vacation, or Tetris Effect?

I like how aggressive the moderation for Pokerstars 18+ rule is. I always report squeakers and never see them again. Sadly too many VR games have been ruined by mandatory quest crossplay and the screeching children that come with it. Echo Arena used to be great until the playerbase got about twenty years younger on average. Unbearable children make it a more accurate Ender's Game simulator I suppose.
>>380208703
Well yeah Pokerstars is real money gambling, isn't it? They are legally obligated to remove underage users from their platform or they could get in serious trouble. VR chatrooms with a 13+ rating don't have nearly the same obligation or gravity to remove children (and imo a 13yo is still a child and I don't want them in my rooms either, I think 15-16 is the cut-off for someone who's capable of behaving themselves and even then it varies a lot)
>>380208379
>>380208436
Expected replies, but a modern AI model could absolutely distinguish them.
>>380209691
Pokerstars isn't real money gambling. You can't cash out the chips for real cash. They can't even be used for cosmetics for that matter.

>shooting range

>>380212937
What's their business model? I thought it was real money and you paid in and they paid you out (skimming transaction fees off the top to cover their business costs)
>>380216718
You can pay real money for cosmetics and chips which can't be cashed out. Most of the game's filesize is just hats, card backs, toys, and other doodads to make your avatar look cooler. It's not different than any other freemium games in that regard.
>>380201503
base game is free, DLC only gives you co-op

It would think I'm a teenager
>>380209691
VRChat should be legally obligated to remove kids because of the massive groomer issue the devs themselves have tipped their own toes into.

>>380229171

Multiplayer Gambling games but not with real money.
Poker, blackjack, roulette, sports betting. You can even bet on Superbowl, NBA and Formula 1 now.
There's a fuck ton of toys and cosmetics you can play with at the table and "flex" with and that's how they make their money.
Advertising Pokerstars brand, getting people hooked on gambling so they go gamble real money is the main purpose of the game.
Making money from micro transaction cosmetics is just a bonus.

It is not. Pavlov Shack is the Quest 2 version and only plays with the Quest 2. But if somebody has a PC and buys the steam version, of course they can still play that.

Space Pirate Trainer gets boring super fast though.
What's H3 worth? Tempted to just buy it instead of pirating it because the dev updates it too often.
>>380310557
As long as you know what you're getting. It is primarily the dev's sandbox for implementing whatever he feels like that week with any gameplay being secondary, which annoys some people.

I don't think you quite understood the context.
Any NMS players in here? I decided to use the new no man's sky update as an opportunity to play it in VR after the newest update rolled out. I have to say it feels surprisingly okay in VR other than the fact that you HAVE to use the analog stick to turn if you want most of the HUD (except the compass that still follows your head) to stay within your field of vision for some dumb reason. Other than that I'm actually enjoying getting back into the game and playing through an expedition for the first time since I missed the last one.
>>380416629
Don't think it really matters. You can sideload games on a Quest 2 (Zuckerberg might ban you in the future for that? Not sure) and any of the PCVR titles can be pirated and SteamVR will still pick them up and run them properly so Index/Vive are both good.
>>380424305
They're still putting out awesome updates for this game?
Damn. I wish i had the time to play it.
>>380424305
Yeah I played it a little bit when it finally got VR support and a lot of people in /vrg/ did. The menu thing is even worse than you may have noticed because it also culls a lot of geometry if it's outside your playspace's forward arc. Just look behind you and rotate with your stick and look how much vanishes.
Still one of my favorite VR games even though I'm forced to sit. I still need to catch up on the last 8 expansions since VR came out.

Gun raiders is a free to play quest arena shooter with jet packs that can be as fast as quake arena if you know the mechanics. Some gliding mechanics, wall grappling and at first glance a casual gun play for VR shooters, but intuitive and extremely well balanced.
In the public areas its full of kids but in the instances you find serious, quite competitive players.
Its also still on side quest I think, so with a bit of work it should be able to run it on Index and co

To be fair AAA western games are OK if you can mod them to be less sterilized and politically correct. I could never get into always online live service games as they can't be modded and are iredeemable as a result.

Cost, performance, tribalism etc aside, which VR headset is the most comfortable to wear? Are they any headsets on the market that are good enough to wear all day, or is that only going to be a thing with next gen like Cambria where the headsets are way smaller?
>>380548062
If comfort is your number 1 factor above everything, you should wait till the 20th to see what's announced. Pancake lenses are going to literally halve or more the weight and size of HMDs even compared to our already thin offerings. The closest right now that's fully functional would probably be the Reverb G2 or Quest 2 with some aftermarket straps.
Walking Dead any good?

If it were a disked game I would happily give you my copy.
The game itself is fun, the melee against zombies and everything is well done I just don't like games that rely on crafting and this one does.

There is a learning curve to set things up. It's a matter of getting gud like everything else. There are plenty of tutorials on the process. Skyrim VR's main quirk is that you need to merge plugins as .esl files aren't supported as with Skyrim SE. Generally it's a process of using Mod Organizer 2 to install the mods you want, using LOOT to sort your load order, DynDoLOD do make your lods, and then Synthesis to run patchers..

Pimax looks the most comfortable to me, considering that there doesn't seem to be anything on the strap on the back of the head. I used to use a Vive Pro for 8+ hours a day, and the one thing that bothered me was the knob in the back. With an HMD, you will probably want to lie your head back, and anything that gets in the way of that is annoying and uncomfortable. The headstrap should be plain
Yes, I know the Quest has the same situation as the Pimax, but fuck Shekelberg

It's far from being the best overall. Years ago maybe, but it's old hardware at an absurdly expensive price. You're just paying the brand and nothing more.
>>380707817
VR is for people who will play the same games obsessively for years, not for someone looking for a new story every few weeks.
>>380710868
what vr game is worth playing for years? most vr games I've played I got bored with after an hour or two. the only game I've played a lot of is beat saber. even boneworks and alyx could barely hold my attention.
>>380712628
I regularly play Pavlov, Synth Riders (formerly Beat Saber), Into the Radius, and H3VR. Contractors if anyone hosts it. You'll probably 'disagree' with that, but I haven't had any interest in big budget games in at least a decade. I looked up Elden Ring because I kept seeing it hyped everywhere and it just looks bad to me.
>>380672028
VR games can be very CPU intensive. VRChat, modded Skyrim or Asseto, can easily 100% a 10700k.
>>380698085
What the hell are you on about? The Pimax headstrap is an exact copy of the Vive Pro. If you're talking the cloth headstrap they used years ago with kickstarter, that shit is god awful. To a point it's much more about how the weight is distributed than the weight itself. And the cloth straps make something insanely front heavy and uncomfortable. Especially Pimax, who have some of the heavier HMDs.
If anyone played Wanderer, what do I do with the frog in the bomb area? Licking it makes the psychedelic effects appear but doesn't reveal the design on the dial puzzle. Can't tell if it's bugged or not
>>380712628
I've been playing Pavlov, Blade and Sorcery, H3VR and Assetto Corsa regularly for years. I'd still be playing games that had /vrg/gg/ lobbies like Contractors, Gurrah, Vox Machinae, Gorilla Tag etc if there was interest.
Like the other anon I've mostly lost my enthusiasm for mainstream gaming, to the point where I wouldn't even pirate the vast majority of AAA games. That's one of the reasons I got into VR in the first place.

H3VR mods are gradually creating a game from this sandbox. Custom characters have improved the Take and Hold experience: Silent Sully makes it more challenging while PMC Pete turns it into more of a looting game. There's now a KotH game mode and someone is working on a Tarkov style mode with a persistent stash. The rigs and backpacks add more interesting inventory management. Helmets and plate carriers add armor mechanics to the player.
Is A Scanner Sombre any good? Never played the dev's other games.

So just finished playing my first few rounds of this game and it's amazing. Sure it's VR Fortnite but honestly that's a good thing. It also has climbing gliding like Zenith.
The player base seams large but with Oculus being the majority it's hard to gage but I never had to wait for a match.
It's no mil sim but the gun play feels really good since you can tune the motion dampening so the guns feel like they have a bit of weight. Really wish that was more common in VRFPS games as it feels way better than virtual stock systems

it probably can but you would probably locked a child in vr for that to happend
>>380893339
You can literally counteract this by showing the fucking child how to turn the head seperate from the torso
Grab the childs torso
Grab its head
Force turn its head
It will understand the head can turn from the torso and start to be able to do that
>>380893708

What upcoming VR games, updates or mods are you keeping an eye on? Here's my list
>Undead Citadel
>Tea For God
>Vertigo 2
>Thrill Of The Fight 2
>Boneworks 2 (or whatever it's name will be)
>Hellsweeper VR
>Deep Rock Galactic VR mod
>Valheim's next update so I can play the VR mod again
There are other games coming out, some this side of summer but they're either Quest only or I've played the demos/alpha/betas and wasn't impressed. Green Hell PCVR is one of those as it had huge performance issues that I don't think the devs will solve, I hope I'm wrong.
A lot of devs for current VR games are quiet regarding roadmaps and update plans so I can't think of any big updates I'm looking forward to like I was the Dungeon update for Blade and Sorcery.
>>380913573
S&S Chapter 2 of course.

>>380927041
Nice. I hadn't heard of Umami Grove but it looks right up my alley. The To The Top sequel also looks great, the bland looking levels put me off the first one but maybe I should go back and try it.

maybe if he would spend less time on twitter.
Custom monke maps... The dev should have officially supported them instead of breaking mods for weeks every time he adds a new hat. The new official map sucks compared to custom stuff and his others often missed the point.

The Boneworks followup from Stress Level Zero I think is 100% confirmed to be shown off today, and I would expect the GTA SA port too. I would hope they put more work into it than the team who did the trilogy dogshit. I think this is the people who did RE4 port which is really good.
I think Saints and Sinners 2 is somewhat likely too.

>>381004090
Boneworks is great, I wish the enemies weren't boring ass shooting dudes or just mindless dudes. Plus a little too much puzzle shit. Its still a far more dynamic game than Alyx which is probably the only other comparable game.
>>380913573
Further development of PLANCK and other skyrim vr mods, i havent gotten a chance to try it yet but it looks great

>>381004541
Boneworks is god tier, I really enjoyed the VR puzzles honestly
Some fell flat but watching someone else solve something in a dramatically different way using random props or just outright abusing physics was good fun
>>381004590
boneworks isn't pavlov tier but its far better than alyx
>>381009163
I've enjoyed freedom so much I didn't do any of the puzzles "legitimately" in the first playthrough. Using hammer to climb, and cheese stuff with physics was just way too good.
Replayed it then to play it "properly".
>>381010226
you're right in that regard, except the devs are noguns so the grip orientation and grab points are very unintuitive to anyone who knows what they're doing

Lo-Fi
Vail VR
Blunt Force
Undead Citadel
Hellsweeper VR
The Break In
Ab Aeterno
Gambit!
Tea for God
Green Hell VR
Houseflipper Pets
And my personally most anticipated game, Mothergunship Forge
Undead Citadel and Blunt Force are looking like vaporware though. Blunt Force listed "Coming 2020", and now just lists "Coming soon". It's fucked. There are a bunch of games that aren't officially announced which I won't speculate on. Companies like Valve aren't exactly known for following through on things.
In reality I am just going to be playing more modded Skyrim VR while I wait for anything worthwhile to come out. With Planck it's the perfect time to play an unga bunga rapist barbarian as I work my way through Falksar and then Glenmoril now that I've finished Enderal.

I looked into Blunt Force some time ago. It was another VR side project for some of the Shadow Warrior reboot devs and it looks like it was dropped because they were needed to help develop a flat game called Trek to Yomi. It's been out of dev for so long i'd say it's vaporware.
Undead Citadel is still in dev. They recently revoked the old test keys and confirmed PCVR release this year. Unsurprisingly it's getting a Quest 2 version now so that probably accounts for some of the delay.

Why is it that every single time I launch Pavlov I find some new stupid shit that is fundamentally broken like this?
>>381133792

>>381156470
He probably just dislikes Facebook.
>>381156607
that was my first thought but then why specifically mention airlink
>>381133792
I'm guessing it's an 8 bit value with 7 bits used to represent up to 127 and one bit to flag it as timed out (999 ms). The ping in game only goes up to 255, but after that the values seem to become random, rather than restarting from zero.
The netcode probably becomes so bad once the ping has exceeded 255 ms because the prediction actually uses the wrong values; it only interpolates your position for 30 ms or whatever instead of the hundreds of milliseconds it should thus having the positions completely desynced and allowing the shots around corners.

I actually did the first level completely backwards by accident.
I'm really glad that Saints & Sinners 2 is making the French district the whole game rather than just reusing areas from the first game, as unrealistic as it may be with the French Quarter ultimately not being that large IRL. Silenced weapons will really change how the game plays too. What bugs me is that like the Aftershocks update the game probably won't acknowledge whether you chose to help or hurt JB, Georgia, or neither in the first game's main campaign which is sad. I hope that the Exiles are handled better.

Yeah, that too. I guess it's also because Pavlov has remained fairly stagnant in recent years. Apart from fixes and push mode, no improvements have been made to the interface. It's a shame. I think it also might have to do with the last two years being hard on VR for anything other than the Quest. More and more people are getting siphoned away from PCVR, being told that it's "dead", all to try and lock people into an ecosystem with shitty mobile hardware and draconian policies.
>>381270150
People are just going outside bro

I just wish the game wouldn't forget to clean up the bodies and grind to a halt most of the time.
>>381264741
To continue off from here I tried looking up VRFPS games that were cross compatible with Q2 in hopes of finding better population. I tried Contractors and while there does seem to be a good player base, there is no ping read out at all and it seems like all the APAC servers are in Asia.
The game didn't seem amazing anyway, guns feel really weak and it just looks like complete shit, just completely flat lighting. Feels like one of those shitty Chinese free to play COD knockoffs. Probably return it tomorrow.
>same shitty non-responsive enemies as the first game

it would be great if i could pair up with an ideas guy to make a vr game, i will just need a month to learn unreal engine and the basics of gamedev

>>381305731
thats quite complex for a first game and it wouldnt be pokemon, it would have to be some original creature gathering game
>>381305912
then you fail, everyone basic in vr has been done and you need a skilled team to do something new
>>381304993
If you are entirely new to gamedev, I'd honestly recommend starting out making vrchat worlds first. as janky and limit as unity and udonsharp is, it is way more gratifying making stupid little gimmicks and having people actually play with them, vs trying to make some standalone unreal engine demo game that nobody will ever download your shady exe to try.
How the fuck do I play into the radius? I followed the tutorial like gospel but right outside the city just a hundred feet are enemies that seem to discover me no matter what. you could give https://aframe.io/ a try, or use three.js and webxr directly, but sadly all webxr stuff is pretty underdeveloped after mozilla dropped it, especially on PCVR. I think it's got some life left if you want to develop for zucc's quest though.
>>381308404
for all its flaws, vrchat is at its core just a unity scene viewer with built-in vr support and convenient way to load other people's scenes. There are a ton of neat gimmick worlds it that are worth trying, even in private by yourself, never having to interact with anyone else.
s&box also exists I suppose, but you have to suck garry's dick to get in the alpha it seems.

Like the others have said, if your idea is possible with VRChat's player rig then that's a good way to skip some of the work and get easier feedback. Otherwise consider making a Unity/UE4 project to prototype various ideas and learn from example assets.
What sounds like a good idea can fall apart when faced with the reality of actually playing with it or developing it further.

It sounds like they're pandering hard by bring Ezio and everyone back. Hopefully that game actually feels like an AC game and just an Oculus-sponsored tech demo...

imo there are already at least two red flags about ac vr
>16 missons, which means no open world
>fucking teleport

The road as in right out of the fog or the road as in across the bombed out field by the checkpoint? It's a patient game, anon. Take your time, find some higher ground and some shadows and have a look at what you're dealing with before you go in and only rush if you know where you're rushing to and through is safer than where you are. Crouching too you have to get really low for it to realise you're crouching. You'll be able to tell because it really slows your walk speed.
First mission after the tutorial should take you to the power station right next to the fog gate. Wouldn't recommend going much further than that just yet.

I like that they are actually supporting mods this time. I'll pirate it after two years to see how thoroughly the community has trounced the devs.

>it's a no ammo dodging level episode

Yes. We're only doing it due to stockholm syndrome and not quitting before max level.
bake a new bread or we're gonna DIE
Best single player FPS VR games? I tried that one game Into The Radius but couldn't get into it. Same with TWD Saints and Sinners, just didn't grab me. I really loved playing through RE4VR though.
