We're back!
Is legendary tales any good?
I think I am dumb...
I can't leave the house in township tales...
>>393658008
do you mean the house where you select the server you want to join?
>>393657692
it was until they updated unity version this weekend, no more fun allowed
I hope they fix it soon
>>393658093
exactly
I think I lack critical information
>>393658302
there should be a steering wheel from a ship in the middle where you can select servers, there should also be two levers that you can flip for either "my servers" or "all servers" and the board behind the steering wheel should display all servers matching the lever you flipped
you can select the server you want to join by spinning the wheel left or right, depending on the position of the server in the list
once your target server is selected with a blue outline, a sphere will appear with a small preview of the game world, pick up the sphere and put it in front of your face and let go after holding it there for a second or two
it should start loading into the server or display an error message in game
you can also join a server through the launcher by clicking on the group icon (small group of three heads and shoulders) and viewing public servers/groups
>>393658804
how did I miss this...
Thanks anon
>>393659042
unusual way to design a server browseri watched videos on youtube about it and saw how to use the wheel there
>>393658234
What happened?
>>393658234
You what nigga
>unity version
Legendary Tales is UE4 game and hasn't received updates recently(huge patch is in works though)
>>393657692
Ludo with friends, good solo. If you have autism, you can play a lot of hours though content may be seem repetitive
We should really have an AC SRP cruise night with traffic.
What am I in for lads.
>>393665238
I wish AC's controller support wasn't such dogshit.
>>393669134
It's a simracing game.
>>393669134
My bigger issue personally is that not only is the controller support bad, but that you can't navigate the menus with a wheel or a controller. Something like Dirt Rally 2 lets you navigate everything with just the wheel, but with AC you need a mouse and keyboard nearby to navigate the menus and to take your headset off to do so. It's annoying, but it is still the best all around VR driving game right now.
>>393667286
Shit, probably.
>>393669449
It could at least have VR menus like Euro Truck.
>>393667286
Does it have kernel anticheats?
>>393669479
You don't need to take your headset off. There's a little yellow dot in VR that shows your mouse cursor. Just use a mouse or a wireless keyboard on the side of your simrig.
>>393669572
What for?
>>393670425
So you can see what the hell you're doing. Last time I played, the menus aren't within the VR FOV.
>>393671107
What menu do you need? You press the drive button and that's it.
>>393671490
I don't know because I couldn't see the menu but could tell it was possible to select different things on it.
>>393673102
Are you using CSP?
>>393673526
I don't know what that is.
>>393673914
Clip Studio Paint
>>393673914
Custom shaders patch. If you're playing AC without it you should die.
>>393673526
>>393673914
>>393674570
Wait I'm retarded I meant to say CM, which is content manager. CSP you also get for CM though.
>>393674570
>>393674735
And I feel stupid for thinking of clip studio paint
>>393674735
Probably not. I joined a lobby once and didn't see a single other player in 1.5 hours then never played again because it was such a huge hassle.
>>393676136
Get fucking CM, CSP, Pure for the post processing filter instead of SoL, get all your general and VR settings right, compress your files, and start playing the best VR game of all time.

Also if you can use this, fucking use it. Literally free frames.
>>393669449
it's the worst handling of input in any simracing game i've played. you'd think rf/rf2 with its ten thousand controls entries would be a worse option than AC, but at least rf2 is not reshuffling your input every time order of controllers changes in windows
>>393677110
Maybe one day when I have room for a desk to set it up properly.
>>393678045
I really do not know what you're talking about. Like at all.
>>393678065

No, get a simrig.
Bro I have literally no will go put myself in VR and I spent all this money. Something is really wrong here...

You won't in AC unless you join their voice call, and you can mute everyone in Pavlov.
>>393688785
I can't do it.

Morrowind VR multiplayer tomorrow at 8 EST.

Vtol easy to run?
>>393724086
yea, just download it and run the game
>>393665238
does AI traffic work online?
>>393724265
Yes and for a while now. Every SRP server pretty much has traffic now, some even have too much. Like literally irl sitting in traffic too much.
>>393724142
Come on bro, how's the performance?
>>393724591
>how's the performance?
it runs potato friendly
>playing ItR last night, says I'm about ten hours in
>just did the Intrusion mission where you have to go to factory and walk across the skybridge, down the stairs and then use the bomb to blow the armored door.
>killed so many enemies and nearly died twice but a desperate grenade throw saved my life
>found a rusty mosin and a rusty ak74u
>mfw blowing that door and lugging that briefcase all the way back through zones and fighting enemies on my last leg while playing creepy soviet music via cassettes players
Absolute ludo.
Stop dying you fucking retards
>>393745358
no
>>393734986
One of the best missions the first time you play it because no one is well prepared enough for it.
>>393734986
Wait where are you getting music cassete tapes?
I think ive played like 30 hours and not found any.
>>393669479
just download Content Manger
>>393753932
They're scattered all throughout zones in pretty easy to miss areas. Sometimes they'll be in crates and boxes, othertimes just sitting on the ground next to a dead body. When you pick them up you can either play them in your cassette player in your pullout map or play them back at base at the mission console. I don't think there's anyway to play all your previously collected tapes while out and about though. Only the cassettes you come across in the moment.
>>393757452
Some anon from the thread made this mod and I threw it on the nexus because it's too good not to share. Some bug is happening with it now in the later updates that cuts off the audio after a few seconds of playing but I don't know if that's me accidentally hitting the stop button on the map or quite what.
https://www.nexusmods.com/intotheradiusvr/mods/81
You faggots need to introduce some shitpost to the thread, i'm not gonna keep bumping it
>>393764686
Sorry anon I've just been playing Minecraftin non-VRlately so I don't have anything to say
>>393764686
We have similar shit in the sticker thread on /o/, its either furry infighting or hitting page 10
>noo you can't blog about how distraught you are and how your VR gaming experience has been
>nobody cares about that
>but wait why is the thread dead?????
>I don't want to bump this for you!!!
>start posting now!
>>393769108
You probably don't know this but back in early /osg/ days I was one of two people that contributed with quality designs. I was also mainly the guy that kept discussions going, helped newfaggots with their paint drawings, and filtered the shills and cancer like drew. Not to mention that it got so bad, the mods started deleting the thread because they appeared as off-topic advertising, and I was the guy that went on irc to talk to them about it. You literally have this thread because of me and 1 other guy. Then you guys decided to disrespect me in way that will never be forgiven, and as soon as I left the threads started dying. Just wanted to let you know that I was right and you were wrong, and this is the result of your own choices. Webm related.

>>393776267
That AC is the best VR experience available right now and you should try it.
>>393777072
Even if I don't have a wheel?
>>393777384
No, it's a sim game and cars are driven with wheels. Better save up and buy a wheel, a shifter, pedals, a handbrake, and a sturdy rig to mount everything on, plus a decent seat. If you want to make it even better you can get bass shakers to simulate road surfaces and other vibrations such as ABS and gear shifts.
forgot how nearly impossible it is to do most events in Surv1v3 Survival mode solo
>>393778212
alright then, I'm gonna play VTOL instead
>>393778868
Can I play vtol sitting down and chilling with just my headset controllers? Do I need good tracking? I mean it should only be a few buttons and directional controls right?

Webm is singular, anon. Where are you from?
>>393780526
Doesn't mention Webm.
Curious.
>>393780615
It doesn't need to. Next google what reading comprehension means.
>>393780650
>not an argument
I won.
>>393780738
The argument is the definition in a dictionary. Why are you dodging the question of where you're from though? You're an ESL, aren't you?
>>393780913
>webm is image
>provides textbook definition of "image"
>image = a picture
>image =! two pictures
>webm shows x pictures per second
>webm = more than a singular picture
>image = a singular picture
Like I said, I won.
You don't even bring arguments anymore. Only insults. Just take the L and leave.
>>393781174
Oh I see ESL bro. You're now confused because you don't know the definition of the word picture as well. Here you go, help yourself.
>>393781375
Ah so you agree that a Webm is not an image anymore?
Great, took you long enough
>>393781174
By the way, ESL is not an insult. Since you take offense to it though, that basically confirms you are one, in which case you have no say on the intricacies of the English language. Your opinion has been rejected.
>>393781549
>insults
>has no arguments
>clearly triggered
I can't stop winning today
>>393781484
Anything your computer screen produces is an image, as seen by the definition of the word image I provided to you.
>>393781668
>takes offense to being called an ESL
Sorry about your insecurities ESLbro.
>>393781721
Sorry you meant to say that anything on my monitor is a motion picture, right?
Yeah, I won.
>>393781831
No I didn't mean to say that, and that's why I didn't say that.
a-at least the thread is alive...
>>393781913
>Anything your computer screen produces is an image
>image = picture >>393780251
>picture = motion picture >>393781375
Don't worry ESL bro, you'll get the english language at some point.
Until then, I won.
Ah yes, VR VIDEO GAMES
>>393757971
Oh nice someone posted my mod, I lost it and the readme with the list of songs when a hard drive failed. It was buggy even before the recent patch, sometimes cutting out at complete random when listening in the base. I think either the audio files weren't compressed enough or the method the game uses to turn off sounds when you've walked away is being inconsistent.
>>393782052
Your confusion seems to stem from the implication you created that some words have only one meaning, which doesn't apply to the words we're currently discussing. Do you need help with anything else still ESLbro, or did you understand your mistake now?
>>393770682
Oh damn small world (maybe not that small on 4chan i guess)
I was shitposting in them early too, only again recently, but im not autistic enough to remember the lore that well
Don't be a dork tho, come shitpost again
>>393775650
Damn this really is like a /osg/ thread now, true crossover event of the century
>>393782515
You marked and used those words, bringing them into the context of video or webm.
Don't worry, everybody makes mistakes.
I won.
>>393782747
Yes, I used the applicable words in the proper context. Any questions still?
>>393783030
No, since I won.
>>393783094
If there are no questions on your side, then that means you understood what I explained to you and how you were wrong. I'm glad you've learned something.
>>393783180
You clearly don't understand english as well, so I don't want you to twist your brain when you try to find the right words. I have simply given up on you to bring arguments.
Hence me knowing that I won.
Hello trannies,
Pavlov will be played tonight at midnight EST, with a focus on new maps and more non-SnD gamemodes
Collection here:
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2840890341
Gamemodes are KotH, TDM, Gun Game, Infection, SCP: Secret Lab, Capture the Flag, Duck Hunt, and naturally, a healthy bit of SnD, albeit on new maps. We also have two servers, in case one fills up or otherwise stops working.
Saturday pavlov maplist for early DL, if you want to play TTT tommorow:
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2841313831
>>393783342
So there are still more questions on your side, even after I've shown you dictionary definitions. Are you still having trouble interpreting what they say? I'm here to help ESLbro, just let me know.
>>393783642
After realizing that you will not be able to understand my question, my faith in you to provide proper answers is gone. Thank you for trying to punch above your weight.
I won.
They should make a VR game where you are arguing with someone online, then you have to magically go to their house, do detective work exploring their room to find either dirt or clues about their life to make the ultimate return insults.
Kind of like Phoenix Wright, but in VR and 50x more autistic
>>393783841
Well sorry you're too scared to post your question anon. I was only trying to help. I've pointed you to a couple of dictionary definitions, so hopefully you're able to spend some extra time on your own in order to understand what you're reading, since it seems like you need it, so you don't make the same mistakes in the future.
>>393784238
I know you most likely can't read well. You seem to read words I haven't written. But it is something I would expect from someone not being that fluent in english.
I won.
Jesus fuck some people are retarded.
>>393784437
>You seem to read words I haven't written
No I don't. I didn't comment on what you've written, because you haven't been able to bring anything up to the discussion for a while now, and you claimed to have a question, but you refuse to ask it. Since you don't want my help though, I've provided you with the necessary resources you can use to learn on your own. Good luck!
>>393784676
>I didn't comment on what you've written
I noticed. That's why I assumed you can't read.
Anyways, it was fun discussing with you, with the little knowledge and the big dreams you brought to the table.
I won.
>>393784848
We've confirmed you're an ESL already though, so you have no leverage deciding who can and cannot read. Please understand that I have no ill will towards you, even though you were wrong. Attached is a reaction image conveying my feelings towards your childish mistake.
>>393785080
Oh it wasn't my decision. If you fail to read, you fail to read. No "deciding" from me required, at all.
You are still young, you can still learn. I believe in you.
I won.
>>393785364
I tried teaching you, ESLbro, but you seem to enjoy making mistakes and not learning from them, so there's no point in bullying you any longer. I'm starting to feel bad for you now. Feeding yourself delusions is really not healthy, but I'm not your care taker or anything, so I have no responsibilities towards your mental development. Whatever helps you sleep at night, keep telling yourself.
>>393785670
What helps insanely is me winning all the time. It actually gets annoying to score wins so easily.
Hope you find the mental support you need.
I won.

> Republique VR debuted on Oculus Go in 2018, and headed to the Oculus Rift + Quest stores in 2019. Since then, we've been asked more than a few times whether we intend to release it on Steam.
>Well, I've got some great news: not only is Republique VR now available on Steam, but you can download it for FREE with the purchase of Republique. If you already own Republique, you now have access to Republique VR at no cost, as well.
This year game happened to get 5th year anniversary, so they just made it free.
>is it shit
Hard to say, reviews on Quest are alright, never heard about this game in any discussions though.

What's your IQ anon? I wonder if it's related to how immersed people get in VR games. I've never experienced such things.

Not really related to question, but i lose my composure in Koikatsu VR, trying to actually hug/kiss waifu in front of me even though i'm usually well aware that i'm in VR games to not have such immersion

Speaking of immersion, my bass shakers arrived today. Gonna be using them to increase muh VR immershun. What other ways can you guys think of? In a game like yours maybe you can buy and spray a bit of female perfume in your area?

T+2hrs til pavlov
We have two servers, as they're now hard-capped at 24 players and we easily hit above that last weekend, before the VRC bullshit started
Main server is Shitposting Addiction Therapy Center, whitelist here: https://letmein.vrg.party/whitelist
Secondary server running the same maplist is Gem Server, whitelist here https://sparkleyserver.top/
Both are running NA regions as well, and should start up around the planned time
Pavlov will be played tonight at midnight EST, with a focus on new maps and more non-SnD gamemodes
Collection here:
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2840890341
Gamemodes are KotH, TDM, Gun Game, Prophunt, Infection, SCP: Secret Lab, Capture the Flag, Duck Hunt, and naturally, a healthy bit of SnD, albeit on new maps. We also have two servers, in case one fills up or otherwise stops working.

>>393859653
Pavlov is closing out, what feedback do you guys have regarding map selection? the SCP map was broken sadly, because that would have been fantastic, and it really killed the playercount when it got followed up by that oversized Push map. Aside from those two, what gamemodes would you like to see more of, what maps were the best, and what complaints do you have?
Also, TTT tommorow. We have like 10 maps total so it should be a good time

I'd like more in the way of proper zombie survival. Not like that weird The Hidden game mode (Where only one side can win for some reason) but something that's pure PVE like the Minecraft Oasis map. 1:1 scale in a game you've played for years is the most shocking. I'd played War Thunder for years before I tried it in VR so my idea of how big the planes were was completely wrong.
>>394023089
Having depth perception from a different perspective for each eye just throws you in there in a way a flat screen never could. Even the low fov headsets get a pass because you can just naturally turn your head and your body realises it's all around you. Best part about it is that it still feels like you're the same size as you always were. I'm sure there's some deep brain trigonometry to figure out distance and size based off your irl height and eye's interpupular distance that your brain just automatically does every time it looks at something. When you get shrunk down or grow in size it feels more like the world goes in the opposite direction. Instead of feeling huge it's like you're playing with toys and instead of feeling tiny it's like everything else is giant.
>>394025737
I've played on a Pimax and the effect of perspective in those situation is dialed up to 11 with wide FoV. You can really take in either how gigantic or how tiny everything feels. Being able to see entire maps in spectator mode in Pavlov and accidentally triggering whatever thing that makes your viewpoint 'bigger' is insane. The whole map and everyone running on it feels like I'm looking at a playset for kids

Was the last major Pavlov update really a year ago? Damn.
I don't understand Oculus resolution slider. I've spent months researching how it works, fiddling with OTT bandwidth settings setting the resolution slider to the max because people have said that's the closest you can get to the Quest 2's native panel resolution (calculating all the extra headroom it needs because of distortion/warping whatever. And then I set the Steam VR resolution to 1.0 to make sure that it matches that Oculus one and never goes over. The problem is that some games I can push 120hz with the link cable this way and they ran pretty perfectly. Pavlov looks very clean and hits 120hz on maps that aren't unoptimised. But other games tend to run like shit no matter what I do, which includes dropping refresh rate or even resolution (ItR). I think the reality is that I'm bumping up against the limits of what you can actually push through the link cable because some games are giving me 12ms+ frametimes for seemingly no reason. My GPU usage and VRAM headroom shouldn't be giving me these results.
Overall, I'd be curious to test a native headset in comparison. It seems like I'm hitting the limits of what you can pump through this thing over a USB-C cable. When it works, it works fucking great. 120hz locked pavlov on a low end headset like this is amazing. But it's still very much a per-game basis on whether or not the experience will be good or not.

Be quiet. You are literally the equivalent of people who claimed they couldn't play Doom back in 1993 because the perspective made them sick. If you made multiple attempts and still can't get over the initial sensory difference of moving with a stick (lol) then you should just stick to flat gaming because you are an outlier. That's the only advice we can give you.

hyperdash is pretty good for a non-pavlov fps. it does quake/UT arena-style FPS well, and also has TF-style payload maps. However, the public lobbies are either full of quest squeakers or hypersweat tryhards, and you get bored of the few maps they have after a while. I'd play again if you or any other anons have the game though.

Quest 2 on "native" is almost 15kk pixels. FYI, 4k is just 8kk.
You are not hitting 120hz with that resolution unless the game is optimized, no matter what kind of hardware you have. It has nothing to do with link or usb-c cable.

Dumb and don't know what SSW is, though I really should check my GPU usage with a higher resolution. I mostly play beat saber which is fine, pavlov is map dependent and only the dirt rallies were a problem, especially making them not look like shit and running over 10 fps
I really enjoyed my time in games like Boneworks, Half-life: Alyx, and Saints and Sinners. Are there any other immersive sim like games out that I should try?
>>393705909
ANSWER MEE IM DUMB AND DONT UNDERSTAND
>>394152887
It doesn't matter, it's one multiplier.
Option A becomes 1.7*0.7=1.19 in the end for example.
If the particular dev is retarded, the game could ignore the steam multiplier, so if you want to work everywhere you can just set the option in the oculus app to the highest that your pc can run without dropping frames and leave steam at 1.0x.
Also, the way oculus present multipliers is stupid, so start thinking in rendering resolutions instead, it is consistent regardless of refresh rate.
Any games that can make good use of a large tracked space? Got a Quest 2 before the price-hike to use as a companion HMD to my Vive Pro+Knuckles kit for playing stand-alone exclusive shit (hi RE4), and also so I can Airlink to my basement for PCVR where I have a fuckload of open space vs. my cramp PC space.
I'd have opted for HTC's wireless kit but that shit is laughably expensive; more than the price of a Quest 2.
>>394161668
Tea For God would be the first suggestion.
>>394074918
>You are not hitting 120hz with that resolution unless the game is optimized, no matter what kind of hardware you have. It has nothing to do with link or usb-c cable.
I said that I'm trying to get it "close" to native panel res. And setting the oculus slider to max gives me that. And yeah, I can run most games at 120hz this way. So it's not impossible. I'm using nearly 10gb of vram in doing it, but it's not that hard. Not everyone has a poorfag station. It's just that PCVR requires A LOT of fiddling and some games perform better in different frameworks and you might need to switch it up for the sake of performance.
>>394167493
I didn't mean you as in you, but general you. I meant people in general, though I don't want to touch anything when for one reason or another a handful of pavlov maps already lag the hell out of me

Reprojection handled on Quest 2 hardware(made by Virtual Desktop dev than contacted Qualcomm to get information on that). Better than reprojection on PC, though has small input lag/straight lines are bugging
Other than that, free FPS. I usually leave it on even in rhythm games, have no problem with it.

like the other Anon said it's more like Roadside Picnic than Stalker. A desolate wasteland filled with anomalies and spooky shit rather than roaming factions. It's a great game to dig into but it can be exhausting because it's got a lot of inventory management and survival mechanics. Part of the hook is getting new weapons/equipment, going out on expeditions and maintaining gear. Story can be pieced together by exploring the world.

Is it really that simple?
I figured with the way the filtering and scaling works 1.7oculus * 0.7 steam would be much worse looking than 1.19oculus * 1.0 steam despite being the same overall rendered pixels, because in the 1st example steam would be upscaling the pixels to match that requested by oculus, then oculus would be treating those as gospel and trying to retain the upscale blur as given to it exactly.
As for the other ones, i dunno lol.

"VAIL VR is a virtual reality multiplayer competitive shooter. Emphasizing tactical gunplay, high-caliber combat, and collaborative teamwork. Introducing the ultimate VR shooter experience."
I got my key from being in a >discord server of a youtuber.
here are my thoughts on it.
It seems they have taken a bunch of good concepts and mechanics from all kinds of games to make this one. Popular games like HLA, bonewokrs, Pavlov and im sure there are others.
Stuff that feels good or works well first. When pushing the gun into a wall the gun deflects much like HLA. in other games like pavlov clipping the gun into the wall will make it not be able to shoot which is fucking annoying. It has that same crouching and tippy toes thing as boneworks. Movement is pretty fluid, but slower than other games. Guns feel pretty good, very similar to H3VR in terms of recoil. Reloading is fleshed out with physics but may need some work. Its between pavlov and h3 for reloading physics with an bias towards slightly jank. Time to kill is lower than pavlov i think. but some guns are really over powered right now. Zip lines are kool i guess. Grenades throw pretty far and feels okay. smoke or fragment. Networking seems to be tight. I havent been able to trade kills but i've only played for so long. The IK on the arms is relatively good.
post is too long 1/2.
>>394221596

>>394217667
Quest modding was removed due to widespread cheating in public rooms with them. Modders tried implementing an auto-disable when in public but bypasses were rampant so they collectively nuked their mods.
Is he actually banned or is the game just not working correctly? If the latter you want to uninstall to unpatch it.
>>394221626
Now the bad.
They seem to be trying to force the competitive aspect of the game a LOT. Its everywhere on their page. They have the guns and the equipment, but the maps suck ass. In seethe and dilate, theres like 3 maps, its basically corners galore out there. There are a shit ton of sightlines and 5 corners per room. There this one big ass map for 5v5. and its 2 or 3 times as big as dust 2. Its loadout based so no buying or saving strats. In smaller maps the sound design is such that you can hear everything above and below you, so its confusing as fuck. ladder climbing feels like ass. The inventory system is about as bad as pavlovs. No voip yet. And the worst thing is that they put 5.56 in an AK-12 mag.
IMO they need a game first and not have such a hardon for the competitive scene. Id also appreate if they turn the saturation up just a hair. I got a feeling its going to become one of those games with skins for guns too. IDK where they are getting the money for their competitions too.

>>394227873
>Pavlov stays
The engine update could kill it.
>>394229509
why?
>>394229779
NTA, but because it's going to break compatibility with every single mod in the game. It's not that that hasn't happened before, but the landscape is quite different from when they've had massive updates which broke some mods. There's a much bigger library out and lots of maps could easily end up lost forever if the modders don't update their stuff.
That has the potential to make the userbase take a big hit.
>>394230016
how hard would it be for modders to update their shit?
>>394229779
Every single custom map will become obsolete and need updating, so not only will there be very little new content for a year, it will also temporarily nuke all the existing maps which will destroy what little momentum the update brings because no-one wants to play on the default maps.
I think they're also going to stop using Steam Workshop and use their own server to host maps so it can be Quest compatible and they can also sell skins. If this doesn't work, it could make the map situation problem last a long time. They've probably also underestimated how much this server will need to work when there's so many multi gigabyte maps that get updated constantly and downloaded every time a server starts, so they might end up selling maps too because it costs so much to maintain.
>>394230694
so... buying pavlov was a bad idea?
i barely got to play it.
>>394230191
For maps with little scripting it should be easy. It's already very easy to migrate a map up a UE4 version and UE5 is mostly just a continuation of UE4. There will be a lengthy UE5 beta build going up for mappers to prepare their maps in advance. Custom gamemodes might be impacted but I don't think UE5 changes blueprints so much that it will horribly break things without indicating where you're using obselete stuff.
It's the old and abandoned workshop content that we risk losing but if anything there is of value it will be remade by someone else, if you want proof of this there are always people trying to port an already ported map.
The eventual steam workshop replacement (that we know nothing about yet and may end up signficiantly delayed) is probably going to be a complete clusterfuck.
Can't people just host on their own anyway? Hosting custom maps themselves seems like a good option for psvr2 and quest but I dont see it being """embraced""" on pc

>>394231803

>>394231803
H3 is often artificially difficult. I don't think physics based reloading works well in practice. If you wanted less forgiving reloads, it would be better to test if the magazine is correctly aligned and moving in the correct direction.
>>394231593
The maps are just a .pak file so anyone could host it. Quest already has an unofficial site where the few custom maps are hosted. I think the plan is to build an official one for all platforms but that's easier said than done and they may baulk when they see the bill. There's a halfway solution where they update the SDK to upload the map to both the Steam workshop and their own site, letting Steam service PCVR while other platforms use the official one.
>>394232850
I don't see why they have to stop using Steam Workshop in the first place. It's not like Shack is cross compatible.
>>394231992
I think that's fair, particularly because H3VR does so little in the first place.
>>394232642
The difficulty is what makes it fun because it's a skill you can practice.
>>394233245
Testing the orientation and vector of the magazine is effectively the same thing without the performance cost and buggy physics.
Jesus fuck I wasn't expecting the resolution bump from CV1 to a Quest 2 to be so noticeable. Iron sights aren't two pixels wide now in Pavlov.
>>394233517
That doesn't stop people from phasing the magazine through the gun. The physics give a sense of manipulating something with your hands because crucially they let you mess up a reload in a way that still makes sense.
>>394233245
It's artificial because reloading a real gun isn't that hard. It's like changing mags with mittens on.
>>394234329
It doesn't make sense when the magazine starts rolling over the gun while colliding 60 times a second and spinning because the lip collided with the side of the magazine well.
>>394236625
That's an implementation issue, not a problem with the concept. H3VR could've easily damped that kind of thing and made it not retarded. You can look at Alyx for an example of collisions that don't freak out.
>>394236809
I'd still rather have the magazine phase through the gun that get stuck to it, then suddenly jump around the side when the physics engine can decide a reasonable path to the hand.
>>394234019

>>394246124
There may be timed exclusives like re8 and re4r that could be ported rather soon but 1st parties might stay on ps5 for a while. The most notable psvr1 exclusive is re7 ofc but the mod outdoes it with motion controls. There are some interesting cockpit games as well as 1st party narrative driven stuff like blood and truth but otherwise it isn't all that notable of a library.

Just wish hdr/varifocal would have been a thing already as I'm a firm believer those two alone will increase vr presence a ton, but display tech has been abysmally slow to miniaturize/get affordable ever since I got my CV1 five years ago. That and mic quality. I wish VR HMDs had a far higher standard for mic quality so we can actually have 'real volume' calibrations on the hardware level.

Wingman's pretty much ruined me from regular flat flight games. Tracking targets using your head is far better than any alternative that isn't target cursors floating off the side of the screen.

>Why do normalfags love being outside so much?
People love being outside for obvious reasons, nature, fresh air etc.
It's more that corps and society pushes the whole "COME OUTSIDE AND ENJOY L I F E !!!" message because it means people are more likely to come and spend their money on dumb shit. Constantly getting fucking wallet raped is what normies do best.

>IMO they need a game first and not have such a hardon for the competitive scene. Id also appreate if they turn the saturation up just a hair. I got a feeling its going to become one of those games with skins for guns too. IDK where they are getting the money for their competitions too.
It's releasing as F2P. They've said that they are sbsolutely monetizing player/weapon skins. They've also been caught selling NFT's and devs have said that they plan to integrate them into the game for inventory like what Valve does (but without the NFT scam shit). When people have voiced their concerns about this approach, people surrounding the project have defending it saying
>YEAH BUT THEY MADE A LOT OF MONEY FROM SELLING NFT'S DURING THE LAST BULLRUN WHICH THEY FOLDED BACK INTO THE GAME DEVELOPMENT ANYWAY SO WHO CARES LOL
Which is literally pump and dump let's scam the investors logic. Huge amount of caution. At face value the game itself seems like just another cart before horse MUH ESPORTS focused shooter that will most likely turn into a ghost town because the gameplay itself isn't that good. But the fact that the devs are investor baiting with a bunch of shady shit and chasing after ecelebs plus locking beta access behind $90 monthly patreon payments is just really gross.

>i don't get why esports have to be so big, anyway.
Same reason as movie games, the industry wants video games to be taken "seriously" by outsiders and critics. I suspected the devs want VR to be taken seriously, but imo nobody should even consider VR e"sports" without multiple players in the same large playspace.
>>394299093

Waggle combat w/o mods. I normally don't care for mods but the shit for Skyrim VR like VRIK and the 3d sound mods feel mandatory. Was one other also that made the melee combat less shit but I can't recall the name of it. I always just ran a mage and dual-wielded spells on both my hands.

>>394313843
>It's weird since anytime I hear "outsiders" talking about e-sports they're just laughing at it.
Before covid there was a huge push by corps/publishers into Esports because they saw what Valve/Riot had built over the last decade and saw it as an opportunity to shake money out of a lot of impressionable young people. It's similar to the VR investor push of 2016 where a lot of things were overvalued because of FOMO and developers slowly scaled back their plans over the next few years because they realised that it just wasn't sustainable to be going so hard into VR. Covid hit esports very fucking hard for obvious reasons. Publishers like Activision pulled out completely and fired nearly all of their staff. Valve had to shut down the international, but they have enough money to tank the hit anyway. It's more the fact that covid was a unfortunate but arguably needed 'cleansing' to the scene.
Esports can be fun to watch if you're a fan of the game and competitiveness, but I've always felt that the people that cared really hard about it were a bit hollowbrained and it definitely pushed too hard for the few years before covid.
>>394285027
The Last Hope. Because it's a decent enough wave shooter that will be completely ruined if you play other better, newer VR games first.
But why do you have that in your library but not the flat-to-VR converted Sam games? They're better.
>>394314183
Really?
It's a white spot like 5 pixel wide, seemingly not elongated in a specific direction.
I'm pretty sure it's sun damage because it wasn't there yesterday and I put my headset facing outside, not thinking about whether or not it was safe at it was on the other end of the room.
Unfortunately where I'm staying, the sun can (and did) go horizontal so it could prolly reach it at the end of the day.
I'll just try to return it to amazon at the end of my holidays
>>394314805
From what I hear, sun damage from even a few minutes of exposure results in a massive burned area that can cover significant portion of your field of view. It's not just a few dead pixels.
Dead pixels is, unfortunately, something that just naturally occurs in modern screens sometimes even without you mishandling the hardware in any particular way.

That's a big coincidence then, though dead pixels would indeed fall into warranty.

If you can more or less shoot in the general direction of the enemy, you're probably good to go. Bullying bots and target shooting is a bit misleading because even if it might improve your aim, it won't improve the behavior that usually gets you dead in a multiplayer match. Just join us if you're good enough to land some shots, see how it works in real case scenarios.
>>394368863
I dunno, I'm incredibly shit at shooters, so I don't think it's a good idea to jump into it just yet. My "good" and your good is probably leagues apart, my "good" is like being able to stop shaking.
Aim isn't the most important difference in skill between Pavlov players. It's playing proactively instead of reactively.
>>394369034
>my "good" is like being able to stop shaking.i'm three years into pavloving around here and i still didn't got this one down, kek
Of course you should train all you want if you feel like it, I just hope you're not expecting to do particularly well in game just after learning how to aim. I think it's a good idea for you to just join and see how it works like in actual game, so you'll get the general idea on what the game is really about. Plus, no one minds newbies around here, we just kinda have those funny casual funsies games with no expectations set towards anyone.

If you have incredibly shaky hands, unironically try a gunstock or something. It can help a lot having something connecting the controllers.
I just realized. When did they remove the autistic looking green airsoft LARPer skin from Pavlov? The teams were brown and green at one point, right?
>>394369851
ye I gave up on it near launch when it kept crashing or having gamebreaking bugs with no autosaves
>>394368160
Being able to aim will only get you so far, map/game flow knowledge and paying attention to your team and your surrounding is just as important (if not more important), which you'll only pick up on playing actual games. Being able to determine possible enemy position from gun/footstep sounds, teammate movement and killfeed can be huge.

>>394369851
The lack of interesting map design is what killed it for me. It's just a series of large rooms vs. corridors, and the odd puzzle, with the odd combat encounter. Pacing is all over the place.
>>394380489
Tried playing this when one of the Humble bundles had it included. Shit just wasn't friendly for high ping connections (80-100ms).
>>394368528

>>394380489
I sometimes debate buying this one because the mechanics sound fascinating but those character models are just too autistic for me. And the deadpop certainly doesn't help.
>>394386713
That's just data being lost/ignored because you were busy connecting. Shot failed and Shooter is null are things that show up in the server log. It's been long speculated what they actually are but the speculation section seems to be our best guess.
Null shooter correlates with higher ping, unstable connections and players that to me are anecdotally more likely to trade kills. Leave something downloading in the background and you'll get high numbers here so the late packet answer seems sensible.
Failed shot is harder to pin down but most players can attest to shots sometimes doing no damage and unlike when the hitbox bugs out, it leaves no bullet holes behind. Some sort of UDP check makes the most sense to me but I also theorize that it's influenced by who you're shooting at. That would go some ways to explaining why the numbers can fluctuate so much from week to week for specifc players.
Either way it's all very enigmatic.
>>394382358
Do people even buy games on Quest?
>>394399358

What kind of GPU do I need to be able to run Project Wingman in VR properly? Does the game have a stutter problem or can it be resolved with better hardware?
>>394466481
on the one hand, performance isn't perfect even on 3080ti, i'm getting an occasional stutter or two and you can't exactly set higher resolution than native Index with high details even though you really feel like you want to. on the other hand, i've played and finished it on gtx1080, it was playable and game was crazy funeven though I think i was running it on 70% res? 80%?. So, no idea, depends on what you mean by 'properly'. It was fun on 1080.
>>394465023
They should be putting /vrc/ in the title and OP posts because that's what the fucking thread actually is, but I digress.
How goes your expeditions, Anons?
>>394471682
i'm playing on ironman and nearing security level 5..
does the game end? and/or can you keep going on that save?
>>394473913
game has ending, but you can keep going afterwards, unless ironman mode is different from normal playthrough
>>394471682
i fucking hate the bolotky electrical anomaly
since the last patch i can't find a way in that's not just 'spam throw bolts and pray they get zapped instead of me while i run through 10 meters of the shit'
>>394475598
also 2-3 of the anomalies don't load in properly whenever i go near it so i always walk into lasers at some point
>>394401003
Do people not buy PC's for regular games anymore or something?
>>394477149
Phones have replaced 'puters for NPC's, look at people paying $800+ for them
>>394477453
I genuinely find it baffling that people can spend up to $1K on a fucking phone
eu vtol in less than 30
>>394479334
I find it baffling that they can stand using a phone for computing tasks. Everything is slower, less efficient, or simply impossible.
>>394479687
Neat. Full video anywhere?
>>394480249
I thought most people still used laptops? Desktops have definitely gone almost fucking extinct though
>>394480593
idk
>>394480615
No. Most people use phones or tablets exclusively and consoles for games. The only reason anyone owns a computer any more is if they work from home or play games. Just having a computer in the house isn't a thing any more unless it's 20 years old and largely unused.
>>394481207
>The only reason anyone owns a computer any more is if they work from home or play games. Just having a computer in the house isn't a thing any more unless it's 20 years old and largely unused.

Maybe different where you live but it was already a thing here 10 years ago. People who had spent all their teenage years on a computer had downgraded to just a tablet. Now a lot of zoomers never cared about computers in the first place.
>>394482604
I don't know if its like that in the US, but in EU pretty much every household has at least a laptop to do internet banking or filling out forms online, not to mention that pretty much every kid has to have access to a PC to do housework
>>394482604
>actually thinking the average normie matters
Who gives a shit. They are literally NPC's and phones and tablets are literally nothing but content consumption devices instead of communication tools anymore.
>B-B-BUT THE ZOOMERS CREATING "CONTENT" ON TIKT-
Literally not valuable content. The fact of the matter is nearly anything productive in this world is still done on X86 computers. Whether that's a desktop or a laptop.
>programing
>media creation
>game creation
>STEM
>music production
Saying that "zoomers and normalfags don't use PC's anymore" is a moot point. NPC's don't count and they shouldn't be counted compared to the people who actually get shit done in this world with actual tools and not consumption devices.
>>394483748
just wait until the Metaverse expands, then desktop PCs will disappear completely and you'll be doing all your programming in virtual reality
>>394482604
>Now a lot of zoomers never cared about computers in the first place
Proof?
>>394484262
>just wait until the Metaverse expands
The actual metaverse? the one where it's focused on decentralization and user creation? or the other concept that was hijacked by a social media ad company which means "walled garden surveyed marketplace which is both a commerce and privacy disaster?
>then desktop PCs will disappear completely and you'll be doing all your programming in virtual reality
Keep believing what Zuck tells you is going to happen in 20 years as if Facebook isn't currently bleeding money out of it's ass because of his hijacked "metaverse" dream. Zuck's only saving grace is that he's got people like Abrash working for him solving all the hard problems. But don't be fooled, the man is at gunpoint atm because he knows fb is rapidly losing it's userbase and Apple have fucked his ad revenue schemes. Whatever his plans for his "metaverse" are guaranteed to treat users like cattle and be fucking awful for consumers

Those groups did have PCs in 00s. High school stacies were using basic HTML to decorate MySpace pages.

All done on phones now.
>>394485831
>Those groups did have PCs in 00s. High school stacies were using basic HTML to decorate MySpace pages.
Not sure what that has to do with anything
>All done on phones now.
And phones are privacy/security disasters even moreso than desktop PC's to the average normie, what's your point?
>>394486672
I'm not saying it's a good idea. I'm saying that owning a computer is no longer a normal thing.

A lot of the normalfags I know still have computers. It's usually some shit mac laptop exclusively used to use social media, but they still have it.

I was more so refuting the idea that most people only use mobile devices than actually contributing to the VR part of the conversation.
What went wrong with OLED screens
>>394496204
The only OLED screen I've had is the original Rift which had:
>exaggerated SDE caused by having twice as many half power green subpixels to extend their life
>very low brightness
>red or grey artefacts covering most of the screen that required corrupting a file to fix

All the Fallen
>>394496204

not much since psvr2 is using them with hdr which means it will be VERY bright, really wonder if its going the be a problem for eyes

What’s a recommended resolution for an RTX 2070 in Oculus link?
>>394502229
VAM is like the NeosVR of sex games, it's basically a whole game engine editor with a shitty interface. The best way I've found to use it so far is to setup a scene in desktop mode first with the girl you want, save it, then open it up in VR and you can grab the girl's parts to pose. The embody plugin has a wizard thing to setup full body tracking so you can thrust your hips aroundor embody the girl and play with yourselfbut I haven't found easy plugins for cycling through animations or expressions or clothing, anything like koikatsu has. So it's very much hard mode cooming. But the physics are cool at least, both the clothes and the way your hands and fingers sort of conform to what you're touching.
>>394496204
The fillrate is worse than LCD and a lot of OLED screens have a pentile subpixel structure, both of these contribute to screen door effect. I think screen persistence was also an issue with OLED for some reason?
>>394497939
I'm curious to know what their definition of HDR is because you can really bullshit it and I don't think there are any established HDR standards for what brightness VR headsets have to hit.
hello frens, i will host Pavlov zombies again in a bit over 4 hours if any1 wants 2 come.
we r gonna beat those minecraft maps finally, dont worry!

PSVR and the upcming PSVR2 at least don't use pentile so the fillrate should be much better.

Hello. I like to use Custom Order Maid 3D 2's virtual avatar studio to make little skits like this one. I plan on getting some trackers and was curious about what other games allowed you to spawn items and interact with the environment.
>>394533854
Primitier is what you're looking for.
Hey the funny button actually does the thing when you slap it.

>>394539216
Any other game works fine amd it only did this after easy anti cheat. Didn't even do this before I had optimization mods installed. I was able to open boneworks and spawn several fords and never had a problem. Its just vrchat and Pavlov that ever did this. Pavlov did it everytime so I refunded it. Vrchat only seems to do it with some peoples avatars I think but it crashes just like Pavlov where my pc would reboot
>>394539614
It's not enough information.
If you don't have enough information, you have to start diagnosing step by step.
Overheating is the most common culprit, especially if you are on laptop.
Open some software that lets you monitor temps (like hwinfo or hwmonitor) and try to induce a reboot.
>>394540242
How can I make HWMonitor record my temp. It just shows my current
>>394540504
Only hwinfo can do it. You will also have to download LogViewer.
HWmonitor will only work if you want to do it the dumb way and just keep an eye on it manually.
>>394535901
It was nice they patched that in. Too many games get that wrong.

jesus, the lone echo 2 optimization is dog shit. i have it set on low and it still runs like absolute ass on my 3060ti, and it doesn't even utilize cpu and gpu to 100% and yet still lags. the previous previous one ran like butter.

>>394519621
Make sure you have Oculus Tray Tool to play with the bandwidth settings. Pushing it higher there is going to cause extra unwanted overhead or glitchy frames. The general rule of thumb is to play with the oculus slider manually and keep the SteamVR manual setting at 1.0
