If image in the headset looks blurry but fine on the monitor, increase your rendering resolution!
If you start to feel sick when playing, stop and have a rest. You'll get your VR legs eventually, just don't push it.

It's more that there are hardly any other VR RPGs and the ones that do exist suck. Asgard's Wrath is the only other halfway decent one, the rest are tech demo mobile game esque titles which only last a couple of hours.
I'm sad and have no time or strength for VR.
>>415932553
i am so tired i can't even shit-/ragepost about the ATT update that changed nothing and i still lose all my travel progress by getting reset to spawn when going into the plains
we'll get through this anon, once late winter fatigue is gone, you'll get your vr spring with lobbies and games galore
>doing The Heart mission in ItR
>plan a big brained route that will allow me to do several missions on the way through Bolotky and Factory
>arrive that Kolkhoz Zarya with 10 slugs and two boxes of +P 9mm
>see six gorrillion armored enemies wandering around in the village
I probably shouldn't have gone there with a shotgun and a glock only.

How do I go about pirating oculus titles and playing them on Index?
Have any companies made controllers that have the same features as the Index controllers but aren't as fragile as tissue paper?
>>415937176
The stalker mod didn't do it for me. Also where did you enter kolkhoz from to end straight in the village
>>415953814
None.
>>415953814
Pimax and Sony, maybe?
>>415920534
There aren't even any empty servers you can take over.
>>415937176
The ritual mission after that one is fun as fuck to do with a shotgun only (bring slugs). The farewell feast is great sniper training.
Are there any VR games that actually take advantage of having full body tracking besides social ones? I wanna use this stuff for more than just VRChat
>>415988610
Blade & Sorcery has foot tracking for kicking
I don't know anything else though
>>415953814
The Meta pro controllers are the closest one but besides that, no.
>>415911437 (Cross-thread)
those look an awful lot like kudalyn's vrc avatars
maybe just that plasticy shader they're using
Based on leaks, it looks like Quest 3 is gonna look like pic related.

>>415955107
I entered from the south (factory checkpoint). Doesn't the STALKER mod make the game harder ? I already find the game pretty hard as is, although that's probably due in part to the fact that I'm still running somewhat hobo gear.
>>415996413
With all the cash Meta is burning through I find it hard to believe it's going to be cheap like Q2 (which had a price increase if I remember correctly).

That was why I was wondering, if you headed for castle, it saves a lot of bullets to go left through the open field passing the green house and through the river; taking the path through village is always a pain in the ass.

new to vrc, is there a way to make your toon's arms not clip into you in vr? i assume i would have to manually adjust the model?

Holy fuck, retards are STILL saying this.
>>416076295
quick run down on the term, I am actually fairly new
>>416082814
He means 'avatar' or '(player) model'. They were called toons in an MMO called Toontown and retards not only thought this was the generic term to use in every game, but also somehow managed to make it so prolific that it still gets occasionally used 20 years later by people who have no idea that game ever existed. It would be like calling everything a 'mech' because you played Mechwarrior where it was an appropriate term.

>>416125027
I liked it until the lobby got ruined by what sounded like an actual 5 year old with a severe speech impediment and the inability to ever stop talking. I muted him, but the other didn't so it become impossible to communicate.
>>416141194
I predict they're hauling ass on the PSVR2 version to try to revive the game. It's got none of the hurdles that Pavlov has for crossplay, should be easier to port to than Quest and might be the best way keep e-sports investment money rolling in.
That won't fix the biggest issues with the game, namely the lack of uniqueness or any non-sweat modes but right now it's dangerously close to the death spiral where people won't even boot up the game because they can see how low the player numbers are.
>>416162139
It's already there. I boot it up, see that nobody is playing in the US regions, and switch to something else.

>>416286263
I think that magic at least is pretty fun with Spellsiphon. Pulling off different elemental combos is a hoot. Using Durability VR and Maximum Carnage so you can break shields and gib enemies makes it extra satisfying.
>>416289464
Yeah I was the same to begin with, but then I got in a bundle and it was pretty fun. I did get bored of it after about 30 hours and never finished the story though.
>>416289464
I honestly wasn't impressed. I was expecting it to be something like STALKER with lotsa cool quests, factions, interactions, modding, an actual storyline etc., but it being made by two people really shows. The graphics are somehow worse than STALKER too. I will give it points for being a real game though. I got a few dozen hours out of it compared to most VR games which give you 6 if you are lucky and cost almost as much.
With STALKER 2 being in Unreal maybe VR will get modded into it. We'll see.
>>416289464
If you go in expecting stalker you'll be disappointed. Go in expecting exploran, shootan, oh fuck I don't have much ammo left and sapwns are chasing me and you'll have a great time. It's more low-inventory survival and tactics rather than stalker's loot goblin
>>416285564
Now this is a great way to sell people on VR. If only all that was actually in the base game.
Not For Broadcast is finally getting its VR port in March.

>>416311583

>>416311583

Are there any games like intimatevr that aren't abandoned ?
>>416310919
Here. I guess. I mean hgg2d/aa2g continues to be active here in /vg/ under many different circumstances. Namely, in /hgg2d/'s case, it's because there's a staggering amount of rpgmaker porn games and eroges/nukiges. Though interestingly it seems like hgg is going through a bit of death spiral regarding the acceptance of /weg/ content to keep afloat. In /aa2g/'s case, there's just a lot of original content that continues to be made by a dedicated community for a sandbox game that's now essentially abandonware. I'm kind of at a loss here how or what do you want to talk about vr porn games exactly; coming back to my original point, I can't think of a single vr porn game that can generate any sensible amount of discussion like one can in those aforementioned generals.
anyone have a good resource on vrchat avatar development? been wanting to get into it and the only things i can find are femboys and tdafags making shitty videos. been looking for a guide making avatars from start to finish.

>>416312242
The furry one? Heat, obviously. Furotic is also a thing, I guess. And I think that's about it for "games" where you interact with anthros that aren't dead.
>>416315436
>Heat
Oh yeah, forgot about that one, thanks.
I would actually kill for a micro machines game in vr. rc rush looks intersting but the tracks and car designs are pretty uninspired. Something along the lines of Hot wheels unleashed would be cool too
>>416264953
Rhythm games are also pretty good for it. Pistol Whip and the like. Thrill of the Fight 2 is coming out this year.

also im not sure its good for vr streaming as i said i havent tested it. i looked up peoples experience with vr streaming from a wifi dongle and i get mixed results some say its good some say its shit.
i have a couple of dongles but there old and low bitrate
>>416380105
Is it this one?
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005004959680553.html
I'm no stranger to buying cheap shit off aliexpress and it would be useful to have a dongle around even if it's no good for VR.
Tested HeatVR, very good and way more polished than IntiMateVR, however the jank is easily noticeable, I spent way too much time trying to adjust height to be able to do the needfull while sitting, without being able to in the end.
Also more modularity would be good since characters can barely be changed.
>>416380750
yea that one
another cheap shit i bought for vr is the lenovo gm2 pro earbuds. primarily because bluetooth gets janky af once you try to use em with multiple devices so i like to have just one set of earbuds paired with my headset

Is HL2VR good?
I felt like it would poorly transition to VR due to excess amount of walking and enemies in general
Though bar for VR games is low i guess
>>416386117
HL2 is such a solid game that VR just enhances it. The gravity gun in VR is an absolute blast and the mod does a good job with everything else too
>>416386117
its not boneworks but for the most part it works well in VR
there are some shit puzzles that dont fit well in vr like some of the underwater shit in the canals but the gunfighting and most puzzles are great in vr.
i also love the atmosphere and world of half life and seeing it in vr makes you notice details you didnt before the immersion is definitely worth it if you're a fan of the game.
>>416386117

>>416423702
You can throw it IRL if you want, but it's stupid hard to get it in the windows like how the game wants. It's a case that the game is designed with the easy throw in mind.
>>416425925
The problem is that the power curve for throwing is off. You have to throw it extremely hard just to get it high enough, doing that while being accurate was too difficult for a lot of people.
>>416425925
the vr aimed throw thing (B button) is actually a lot easier than aiming grenades when playing hl2 flat
>>416433000
I have to agree. Also the easy reload, very well thought. With the amount of enemies in hl2, manual reload gets you killed non stop. The modders did a reall great job with HL2 vr
I am going to play Take and Hold.

We'll be trying out multiplayer EmuVR for the next few hours. Join code is OEUPTDUU
Grab the latest version of EmuVR from here:
https://download.emuvr.net/EmuVR_1.0.11.7z
You'll also need the same roms as everyone else, those are here:
http://file.vrg.party/emuvr20230128.zip
Extract that to your /games/ folder it should have each system there.
You should be able to join and see everything loaded up. If you have issues refer to https://www.emuvr.net/wiki/Netplay#Troubleshooting
You may try adding the EmuVR and Retroarch executables to your firewall exceptions.

Also I wish this shit existed back then when I had more free time, holy fuck it's so good
>>416523813
>visuals basically peaked in KK
What do you mean by that? Isn't KKS basically an upgrade? I'm using that one
>>416521461
The game runs too poorly for me
>>416525787
It's like Skyrim vs Skyrim Legendary Edition
Same game, but optimizations and different map to ask for full price in Nipponland
>>416525787
And yeah, by "that" i mean Illusion will never make better game
Also they are disbanded their VR division
what should i play first. i haven't touched my headset in 6 months
>>416526678
Really? It runs fine of a gayming laptop with a 2060
>>416526818
I should try SkyrimVR sometimes. Never really played it so it might be fun.
>>416527313
>disbanded VR division
Fucking hell.
>>416527552
Which version are you playing? Last I tried playing the BetterRepack RX15 in VR the frames were too choppy, and I have a 2080 Ti
>>416527881
KKS R7 on Quest 2, haven't touched any settings.
I tried to use 150% resolution but it was starting to get choppy so I kept 100%.
>>416528064
Maybe I'll try that then, I don't know the difference between that and the base Koikatsu but possibly the performance is different
>>416528325
It could also be spacewarp if you're not using a Quest 2, though I doubt it's THAT good
shitty aliexpress 15$ ax1800 wifi dongle streams vr just fine, 150 Mbps on virtual desktop
no noticeable stutters so far but ive only played for like half an hour
>>416531335
did download newer Realtek 8832AU drivers for it from realtek's real site in real china instead of "fenvi"s sketchy ccp site
How do you go about importing a Pico 4 to the US? It's bugging me that it is not officially sold here for whatever reason.
>>416534260
You don't because it's chinese.
I don't know if I'm an honorary ADHD zoomie but I have no idea what the fuck I'm doing in Boneworks. I did a tutorial that's way too long and now I'm in empty streets roaming around. I don't even know what the plot is.
>>416535706
Are there any VR headsets that aren't made in China? I'm morbidly curious now.
>>416538920
pico is a chinese brand, not simply made in china
>>416537958
Boneworks is just a bad game
Retards overhyped the game because of physics, despite you have to fight against the very same physics all game playthrough
Plot is "2deep4u" kind of shit that gets dripped time to time
>>416538920
Why are you asking me this? Irrelevant to my statement.
>>416539298
I don't mind too much as long as I can use those sweet pancake lenses and wireless. I'm mostly just trying to figure out how I would get one in the states and what I would do for the speakers.
>>416539452
It's weird because it feels halfway between a tech demo and a game because of how empty the levels are. There's a lot of stuff scattered in the levels but when I think it's hiding a secret or a bonus or something it just ends up leading to nothing. Maybe it picks up later.
It does seem like the perfect game to have modding tools for though, I guess that's what they wanted to do for Bonelabs but I haven't heard great things about that either.
>>416540756
Once you have a grasp of the physics you can re-play the game and use your new knowledge to cheese a lot of the levels. Unfortunately after your 2nd play through it is just stale. Nothing really comes close to amount of intractability that boneworks offers
>>416541630
I lost interest in my second playthrough immediately, there was nothing I could think of that I would do differently or collectibles worth unlocking because they're useless
>>416527313
They're not making VR stuff anymore? That fucking sucks.
>>416531335
>>416532223
Thanks for the update, sounds good.
>>416534260
can you just buy it off one of the sites on the pico site?
your only drawback is that the power adapter they give you with it wont work
So I honestly dont' really know much about vr.
Does vr have many lightgun games like the old school ones from the late 90s/early 00s?
I'd love to play something like Time Crisis again. And do any of the major vr sets have controllers that have actual gun form factors and not just stuff you attach the wands to? I don't mean like controllers that look like rl guns, But just something that has a pistol grip, front hand guard, and a stock.
>>416553403
>I'd love to play something like Time Crisis again.
emuvr
>>416553403
Crisis Brigade is the closest to Time Crisis. Gal Gun 2 is also a rail shooter and ironically probably the best option in VR for that genre. You can get a Vive Blaster which is supported in a few games.
>>416554618
serious same last hope is a stationary wave shooter

>>416540751
>pancake lenses
honestly I still don't know why most manufacturers went with single fresnel lenses instead of a doublet to correct chromatic aberration
>>416574106
The Index and Vive Pro 2 did that. You get retarded amounts of glare.
>>416577048
Aren't they both fresnel, tho?
Glare is mostly cheap polishing (not that much of a problem here) and internal reflections from fresnel lenses ridges.
>>416524780

VR IS SO FUCKING TRASH LMAO
The only decent pcvr headset is 2023 is 1200 dollars. Kek. The absolute state of this shit market.
>>416623439
And it’s already an obsolete piece of shit where you still need wires and base stations.
AND it doesn’t let you play some of the best vr games because they are cuckulus exclusives now. Lmao. It’s literally worse than it was 4 years ago when the rift s and alyx were being released, ahahahah. Meme industry,
>>416623548
And the fov has not even increased in 7 fucking years, resolution stagnated and we get a 20 yo game remake per year if we are lucky
>>416623548
>hur dur wires and stations
Non issue. All they gotta do is release index 2 with better lenses.
>>416624041
Lmao retard, they will take YEARS torelease a meme vr headset to play the four mobile vr games worth playing that aren’t already oculus exclusives.
Vr is FUCKING UTTER TOTAL MEME NICHE SHIT. An it will remain so for like 10 years, barely improving from what it was half a decade ago
Vr? More like Sr (shitar)
>>416623439
And you cat even afford that one. stay mad flatty
>>416624041
Ironic, the only things we know for almost certain about Valve's next headset is that's it's wireless and stationless.
When will you retards learn that VR is perfect for simracing and other sims, and simdads are big spenders. Literally make a headset that caters to them. Wireless and tracking barely mattering. Visual quality, FOV, and performance being all that matters.
>>416627716
Yeah so what, I am not wasting thousands of meme child technology you nerd
>>416627808
It’s fucking useless if it’s not pcvr wireless without any compression, unlike the cuckmeta 2

will GT7 btfo every other vr sim racer in terms of fidelity? Asking since I have yet to try any other sim
>>416648583
what do you mean by fidelity?
in my opinion the most complete simracing game that's easy to install and with an healthy multiplayer community is rallysimsfans richard burns rally, but it's hard as shit and it will filter 95% of simracers
>>416649217
fidelity as in how good it looks. Whats interesting is you can participate in all the multiplayer races with non vr players so I think its gonna do well in regards with player base.

Aren't they nearly done porting the half life games? Episode 1 got an announcement for Q1 of this year

The folder hierarchy matters. You probably have an outdated version at a higher level than the current version.

Koikatsu. The screen is an overlay that will render in front of anything in the game.

not even, it's a mod made for a single card that I've been trying to use

I had a problem where hairs wouldn't display correctly until I put all of the versions of the hair mod in the same folder because it was overriding the latest version with earlier version.
How is emuvr for extended periods? I'm thinking of playing flat screen PS5 games on the psvr2 theater environment. I'd be great If I can last 3-4 hours in a VR headset.
Playing HL2VR. It's fucking great. I have to play with the laser sight, though, because aiming feels off for some reason. I don't remember vanilla Half Life having bullet spread issues like this. The boss fight against the Hunter-Chopper felt a lot easier, though.
>>416659538
One of my favorite VR games. There's a drum section minigame that's good enough to carry an entire game on its own.

>>416537958
Bonerwork had its fifteen minutes in the lime light because it was the closest thing to a HL game in VR but it got utterly BTFO once Alyx came out.
>>416295607
It was really pathetic to see them claiming that launching the game in early access was just so they could get feedback from players and they didn't care about a wide release, while also buying advertising space for their dumb tournament. I don't know who gets to make those terrible decisions but it sucks because there are genuinely good things about the game buried under all of the bullshit.

>>416740860
>you saw one fucking screenshot
It's a promotional screenshot, idiot. If they can't even put effort into making it look pretty, the game has no chance of being decent.
And that's even ignoring the retarded scene of deer just watching two retards walk close to it with their bows drawn.
>this is why VR has no games
Yeah, it's all because I have standards and not just mindlessly eating garbage thrown together by lazy talentless hacks and asking for more.
Kill yourself.
Has anyone integrated vr headsets into live stream viewing yet?
As in broadcasting a 360 degree camera and viewers can pan the camera view like some youtube/pornhub videos have.
It's time to seize the means of masturbation and free coomers from the flat screen so they can get jerked off live by a camwhore with an insta360
>>416739596

>>416740074

vr camwhores are a thing but they're all in some shitty european countries and filming in obviously fake bedrooms with VR cameras that they dont own, because those cameras are expensive and as of yet there is no popular platform that supports 3d 360 video aside from maybe SLR, not even jewtube does 3d 360 videos on PC because they're fucking retarded jews

It might be time to recombine with /vrg/.
Jesus, Ravenholme is intense with manual reloading. I think part of it is that it's been so long since I played, it almost feels like a fresh experience. Also, I played the shit out of the demo back in the day, so when the game finally came out, I knew the level pretty much inside out.

Let's talk about PSVR2. Idc about getting called a snoy or a shill anymore I just want to justify my preorder(rightfully so) and discuss some of the announced games and speculate about the home environment and what not
While slowly playing ItR i realized
Things they got right is pseudo-MonHun mission layout with repeating same zones for simple questing
Things they got completely wrong is balance, anomalies and enemies
Some anomalies are alright, as much as some enemies, but it's not okay to have PM nigger shooting through 300m on building ceiling, as much as running with speedhack. Also melee enemy goes way too close if you don't strafe, literally impossible to shoot at that close range
>>416910210
Best move for Snoy would be to make PSVR2 PC compatible to maximize their sales, Snoyggers mostly get a PS5 more cuz of "muh Fifa" more than anything, its just literal monkeys that own them just for that, not even that much for "muh exclusives"
Hell, even Snoy went full retard now with "VR exclusives" like the Horizon VR game that they will release, and I bet that shit will do SO POORLY, that soon it will be able to purchase on Steam to coup for the massive losses.
>>416896490
Lmao probably. I consider the Deckard to be in the pile of all of the other things that Valve worked on by never did anything with due to their ADHD. I would have at least liked to have seen updates to Linux SteamVR come from it, but Linux is still stuck on 1.4. Facebook is still doing things even if they have slashed a lot of their staff.
>>416910210
What will really sell me on it is if RE4make is entirely playable in VR as they were vague about what the VR in that game would entail. Gran Turismo 7 having full VR is great, if only it hadn't been ruined by the MTX.
>>416917034
I bought a ps5 just for this headset as fucked as it may seem but I know others here have too. Call of the mountain looks good and so does Turismo and Resi8. Making comparisons with the vr mod and an actual proper port with superior fidelity and dual wielding is just stupid so please don't waste your time. "muh exclusives" keep selling time and time again so clearly there must be a massive market for them. The fact that the entire package costs ~1000$ with pcvr fidelity is pretty impressive.
>>416919592
It would be retarded if they don't port the whole thing seeing how re8 is getting its whole campaign ported. GT7 progression is horrid. I've made some decent grind builds just so I can buy whatever car I like and take it down the Nordschleife which I'd imagine will be extremely exciting and tense in vr.
>>416920217
Yet the 1st PSVR didnt sold that much, considering it was HALF the price of the 1st Oculus and the HTC Vive when these came out, what makes you think Snoy will do well selling the PSVR2 then if they keep it as a exclusive device for a console that doesnt have a decent catalogue of games, yet alone not many sales itself? And like I said before, Playstation is literally a "muh fifa" console, thats why most people fucking buy them more than anything, simracer fags will buy any device since they dont have many choices, besides being almost as niche as those flightsim games that have a controller that is 200$ alone, which is just a part of the whole flightkit.
If they wanna succeed selling them, again, they gotta give full PC VR support, doing that, they might as well crush even the Quest.
>>416903202
>even installed friggin windows last night
Is SteamVR still busted on Linux?
>>416924416
psvr1 outsold every pcvr only headset combined. PSVR2 irrefutably has the best launch titles of any vr headset. PC support would be cool but not lucrative at all. idk why only exclusives count as "games". The most notable pcvr games will be ported as well as other third party games like re8 and re4remake. Also you're really stretching the pcvr userbase. Quest 2 alone surpassed the pcvr userbase 10 fold. PSVR2 will be somewhere between the two since I know way more people who own a ps5 than people who have a 2070 and up in their rigs. It's actually stupid that the index costs the same as a ps5 + psvr2. The barrier of entry to pcvr is far higher than psvr2 both in terms of price and user knowledge. PSVR2 selling well because of pc compatibility is laughable
>>416921490
You can do all this on PCVR on assetto already anon
>>416914479
>save file is 9 hour long

Less enemies, and more blind/deaf if possible(if possible, will try it first without changing amount of enemies)
Getting shot from distance i can't even see PM enemies is just not fun
>>416930418
Car interiors and tracks themselves don't look very appetizing in assetto. Optimization is also shit. There's also way more compression artifacts with fast moving scenes(yes im on quest 2 and refuse to pay 1k for an index)
>>416928156
>Quest 2 alone surpassed the pcvr userbase 10 fold
dont forget the subset of users that uses the quest 2 as an exclusive wireless pcvr hmd

Apart from the bundled Snore-izon, these are the launch games I'm probably going to play. I have an Index so a majority of the announced titles are hard to justify buying again, unless they make interesting use of the controllers and eye-tracking. I'm not optimistic for the first-party output, ever since the Blood & Truth devs announced they were making some flat screen multiplayer trash instead of a VR sequel. Part of me thinks maybe Insomniac will do a Resistance VR or anything VR, due to their work for Oculus, though I also wouldn't be surprised if Sony just has them focus on the capeshit projects this generation.
I know it's only two games, but I will always wish that the DualSense gamepad supported VR tracking for Statik and Astro Bot. They're fantastic games that are sadly going to be lost to time.

Actual gameplay of GT7 in the headset. Looks fantastic imo. You can tell they really went heavy with the dynamic foveated rendering from looking at the players periphery. The 15 fps reflections look goofy as fuck tho Id rather have no reflections than that. seeing as how blatantly they cut some corners I just hope its native 90hz instead of 60 reprojection

>>417131680
That's not TOEFL? Plus no excuses but I never had a mock exam. I learned the alphabet and some basic words in first grade. After that I kept skipping English class, never did homework, never had mock exams or any guidance. I learned spoken English from Cartoon Network as a kid and the grammar from browsing 4chan. I went to my exam on no sleep after having played Diablo 2 all night and finished way before everyone else so I can fuck off asap and not be around people. 110/120 is fine. Now I work with Americans and tell them how to do their job. They understand me more than fine.
Anyways, news on Index 2? I want to have the new VR standard, which is currently the Index, but that's already old technology.
>>417140368

nah, they want TOEIC cause it's more representative of skills in the workplace or something
Same for english class, did the bare minimum and just learned thanks to the internet. I wish chatgpt was released sooner to fully dunk on english classes, they don't deserve more than that.
>>417138529
You don't have to disable the shop. I liked it better because the looting in vanilla is not interesting at all.
Just played Survival Nation for about 2 and a half hours co-op. It's very confidently and firmly "good". Feels like an MMO with how the enemies spawn in clusters, the map-marked gathering spots, and how the map is laid out. We got one random guy joining us too but he didn't have a mic or stick around for long.
Melee combat has decent impact and isn't wet spaghetti. Guns are good to shoot though reloading is a bit weird without having like a physical ammo pouch. Climbing is crisp but you can't throw yourself. Enemies aren't terribly varied but do have a couple of different types. The enemies also have levels like borderlands so you might stumble onto some high level enemies and get fucked if you explore too far. Crafting is just a menu though it's straight forward and not convoluted. UI and controls are perfectly fine but again are menu based rather than physical slots and holsters (similar quick menu to alyx).
Everything about it is okay so other than there being some other game that does each feature better, it's hard to find anything overtly wrong with it. One good thing I was worried about to start is that it definitely has a lot of stuff in it. Pic related is the map as zoomed out as it goes. There's a whole city area south of the river so what's shown is about half the total map. Marked area is the area we explored in over 2 hours play time. I recorded the whole session so I'll slice up some webms tomorrow.

If 60fps reprojection is implemented properly it would make hybrid games far more plausible. If a flatscreen game can run at 4k60 with DRS than porting it over to a vr display of that same resolution assisted with eye tracked foveated rendering 60fps can be easily done. couple that with reprojection and motion sickness is pretty much alleviated.
>>417184872
It's so small I'm really having trouble finding it, but I think it's behind the lens as I can't feel a nick or groove either and I don't war glasses, with a flashlight at the right angle I can see something and it's deeper than the rooms "ambient dust" that's always around and on things I can see on the lens
So now I gotta figure out a way to blow/suck behind the lens without damaging it?

Ok. I was looking at the Reverb G2 V2 to pair with my new gaming PC. I've read the downside here is the controller tracking and lack of headphone port. I don't really want to get Zucked so the MQ doesn't seem like a good time and everything else is outside of my budget.
I mostly intend to use it for shit like Skyrim VR and youtube. Couldn't give a flying fuck about Anime Coomer Hangout or whatever bullshit people are using VR for.
Should I pull the trigger on it or wait for the MQ3 despite the zuckening?
>>417287627
The Zuckening is easy to avoid, no need for facebook and it isnt an issue to create a real fake meta account. The reverb G2 is the better choice in that price range if you don't mind to be thetered and want to exclusively play pcvr
>waiting for the MQ3
could as well wait for the deckard
>>417287627
G2 tracking sucks and you need a 4090. It's good for simracing I guess. I'd get an Index or wait for a new headset that's not chinese or facebook.
>>417288146
>G2 tracking sucks and you need a 4090
I have a 3070ti and wasn't planning on playing anything ultra demanding. The high resolution appeals to me because I should be able to maxx out skyrim/fallout and also view 4k content off the tubes which is appealing.
As for the controller tracking, I've been told I can swap out the controllers for the valve index controllers but idk if there's any truth to that
>a new headset that's not chinese or facebook
Doesnt seem like there's many in the pipeline there.

>>417287627
I'd go for it. It provides a much better picture for youtube than my Quest does. I don't even care about the lack of a headphone port as the built in speakers are good.
>>417289007
You can use Index controllers with a G2 but it requires base stations and a dongle at which point you're spending more to upgrade the controllers than you'll probably spend on the headset.
>>417289542
The graphics look intriguing, the gameplay lets me fear its another half life alyx holding you by the hand
>>417289007
>I should be able to maxx out skyrim/fallout
I wouldn't bet on it. Swapping out the controllers is an expensive gimmick and doesn't work as well as you'd think. The tracking itself will be perfect, but the setup is a literal meme. At that point might as well just get an Index. The lower res and screen door is probably worth it when you'll be able to play at a smooth 90 with a wider FOV and not have to deal with Steam VR. That being said buying an index now is probably not a smart move either, but me personally I'd only get a G2 for simracing, and if I had a 4080+. Other than that just get a job and buy and index. By the time the new index comes out just buy that with your money you got from your job. Just my opinion.
>>417298445

Oculus Killer? I found that the claims of "better performance" were extremely variable at best. Some games ran the exact same, other games ran noticiebly worse and had stuttering/tracking issues because of it. This was completely wired as well.

THE ONE PIECE
Its a shame the Quest 2 is as weak as it is. Playing VR games off of a PC just blows Quest 2 out of the water. Its ridiculous.
Valve needs to get a wireless VR headset going that can compete with PC VR.
any big changes to skyrim vr modding recently? Haven't played since August, I think
>>415996413
This thing is going to be great imo. VR purists shit on standalone but it's clearly the future when it's selling 10x over PCVR. This is a big set of improvements over Quest 2. Based on everything I've seen we're going from a fov of 90 degrees to 105 degrees. Going from 3.5k to 4k resolution per eye. Significantly better lenses. And most importantly, a 2.5x graphical performance bump. To put that into context:
SD 835 (Quest1) = 0.6 TFlops
XR2 (Quest2) = ~1.4 TFlops ; with downclock probably closer to 1 TFlop
PS4 = 1.8 TFlops
GTX 960 = 2.4 TFlops (Rift min spec)
XR2 gen2 (Quest 3) = ~2.5 TFlops
PS4Pro = 4.3 TFlops
GTX 1060 = 4.4 TFlops
To better contextualize, considering real world performance with the various performance hacks each platform has and their use cases, with the higher resolution and refresh rate expected of VR, we should be approaching PS4 levels of detail.
This thing is going to look and feel great. Consider also the M2 powered Apple standalone headset that's being rumored... Unless the index 2 has some real magic to it, I expect to see PCVR die.
>>417461045
>I expect to see PCVR die
you're retarded
standalone will coexist but pcvr simply won't die because the headset performance will never reach pc performance
what will happen is wireless pcvr becoming standard

Why no handhelds in emuvr? It would be pretty dope if you got to hold an actual psp or ps2 controller if you were to play the emulated titles in the psvr2 home environment but that will never happen since there is no controller tracking :(
Controller tracking was the one edge sony could've actually had over pcvr and they blew it.

Nobody will make content where there isn't a market. Every PCVR game is either a (poorly done) flat screen port or a (lower fidelity, can't leverage the better hardware) standalone port. And that's the state today. It's only going to get worse.
>>417488750
It's just going to have to take the long way it should've taken in the first place: enthusiasts and modders build PCVR up from grassroots until the market is sizeable enough.
>>417487174

>>417498469
depends. its unique to set itself away from other games, cross platform. already has a really good starting point with its PC spectator client so it can have a solid competitive scene.
only deciding point if it lives or dies is the price point at release.
Otherwise it has a really good chance of staying alive
>>417498469
I certainly hope so, but the playerbase is dogshit, had to mute all voice chat because even if you get a lobby without screaming squeakers you get obnoxious isolated faggots that think they're ebin and try making shitty calls while they're dead and refuse to let anyone concentrate because their fathers didn't give them enough attention.

should have bought the q pro last week for 1100
Recommend me some mods for Fallout 4 VR
Is it too late to buy a used Q2 at this point?
I miss playing Pavlov.

2.5 turbofaps is bad?
>>417533746
Yes but you Will do It anyway.
>>417533746
Depends on how you play it. For example for PCVR, there are better options by now.

>for PCVR, there are better options by now
not really
Is gladius (Quest 2 native) a good game?
>Inb4 play on pc
Broken :(
How's OpenMW VR looking these days?
>>417546390
never managed to get it to run in vr

Scar is objectively the most overpowered weapon in the game for mid and short range and passable for long range. IF you are looking to max, scar, no way around
>>417547271
Well that's not promising.

Does Breachers have marketing? None of the VR journo outlets I've seen have covered it.
>Finished the Wanderer
Pretty good puzzle game, combat should have been scrapped it was very barebones and lacked polish, though I did like the level where you play as a Nazi and gun down filthy communists with a mounted machine gun
I kept expecting the watch to lecture me about how the nazis were bad and muh holocaust and how ackshually the commies were misunderstood heroes but it never did which was a nice surprise, modern games usually take any excuse to preach the devs personal politics at you
Any games like the drumming section?

>I kept expecting the watch to lecture me about how the nazis were bad and muh holocaust and how ackshually the commies were misunderstood heroes but it never did
alone for that I might pick it up, even if I dont like puzzle games
>3080 is in RMA hell
This is suffering.

They only covered it when it was announced though I'm not sure how relevant journalism sites really are for VR games. I occasionally check a few but they barely get any engagement even when people link the article on Reddit/Twitter.
Meanwhile videos from popular Youtubers can reach hundreds of thousands and VR TikToks get into the millions.
Triangle Factory have ran early access sessions with Youtubers and they're active on social media in ways that they weren't for Hyperdash. It's probably more worth their time and money to do that than sponsor dozens of articles like certain other VR devs.

adhs zoomer marketing is good for a short hype, dead for long term, not worth nvesting unless you try to ride a grifter wave. Yes online journalism, reddit and social media 1.5 in general is dead

Never played without Sim Settlements 2. It's storyline is surprisingly good. I can't think of other VR games that also adventure game city builder hybrid shtick.

Meta headsets should offer the best inside tracking because their software is just far more developed.
Is NMS actually a good game? IDK what to play once GT7 and RE8 go dry.
Anything in Steam Next Fest for VR?
