thanks, I added it in the pack and updated the funny powershell script to install it. If anyone using quest controllers wants to do the same, there's instructions on crawler.vrg.party for how to get the json file back out.

And next WRC event is already up and running, 00'-10' WRC cars in Chile. Slidey, somewhat slow, tons of severe corners. Make sure to join the shakedown in the beginning of the event to receive an extra set of tyres, it might come in handy because this event has ttwo long stages and one short one at the end. Last stage is kind of a testing thing, I'm curious to hear how it'll work out for all of you in terms of performance and visuals.

This time, stages are 35km long each. I really enjoy the novelty of properly long stages based on real WRC, but if newfriends will struggle with that, I'll split it into multiple smaller ones.

DR/WRC won't allow you to quit midway through, otherwise people would endlessly alt-f4 to repeat stages until it's perfect. Tough call, but that's what devs did, and I can see how it's fair. That being said, your DNFs are not registered on website, therefore info is not on the server and it looks like only one person ran the event so far, so maybe it's somehow possible to cheese around it with cleaning game data or something.

I don't see the stage 1 stage 2 results on the site, but in game I see the green checkmark by them and I had no option to run them again, only finished the third one.
And yeah, I paused mid stage to open my overlay and give the gpu a bigger powerlimit to squeeze a few more fps, and since SteamVR is a piece of shit, if you look at it wrong it will crash explorer.exe and I think that somehow fucked my FFB too. I quit the game, unplugged and plugged the wheel back but it didn't help so I got another DNF. Did the same again and it worked on the third stage... And yeah it's a relic, but it works great when shit doesn't crash in the background, for some reason even used logitech wheels cost a lot so I didn't replace it yet.

I got the PSVR2 recently and holy shit the default strap is utter ASS. Hurts like a bitch to wear and shifts around too easily even if I tighten it to the point of physical pain. When perfectly in the sweetspot the lenses are actually incredibly good for being fresnel, but that's impossible to maintain for more than a few minutes with any kind of movement.

I've heard lot of people say the Globular Cluster kit dramatically improves the comfort, anyone here tried it?

I spent a good bit of time this weekend building a wooden cockpit to attach to a racing seat I bought on Craigslist.

Concepts of shooting and correction based on trajectories and impacts remains the same. You will not need to adjust for finger/trigger position.

Just practice shooting more. Play a shitload of Half Life Alyx on easy or something. I don't even need a red dot in VR FPS games because I don't miss after the second shot. Look at where your bullets land relative to your position when you miss or on a target and with hand/eye coordination you should be able to correct and adjust.

Honestly though red dots are much easier and more fun both in VR and real life shooting.

I bought a second hand Meta Quest 2 and realized it had a medium sized smudge in the left len that made things blurry in-game, and it was actually a scratch apparently.

After 3 rounds of toothpaste (each round was ~2 mins) the scratch is 95% gone, the blur is gone in-game and only visible in menus if you really focus at it. I am tempted to do a 4th round to make it 100% gone, but I am wondering if the risks outweigh the benefits? Am I even risking anything? depends on the map, and i think how long you've been playing on it, how much of it you've explored, its like when it loads in too much assets it starts to get lower framerate. but on some maps for me it can run really smooth forever or a very long time

If you want an "official" reason it's because he tried to infiltrate the community when he was underage and also because he ripped people's models and put them up on ripperstore.
I think whether someone is accepted or not is really a community decision. Enough people find his actions and personality to be unlikable enough that people are on board with kicking him. As it should be.
